I made this artwork for a Discord art challenge in my own server, and I decided to post this breakdown video to help you guys see what goes on behind the scenes with scenes like these, as well as to spread the word about the contest so that more people get inspired to push themselves and learn faster!

i have a doubt i know how you removed the first character from render but how did you removed the main character from reflection
I just turned off the main character collection while rendering out the RenderLayer containing the mirror.

Wait, will ever piece of the shattered mirror reflect the environment seperately? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes it will. If the pieces are angled in different directions, they'll also reflect that area of the scene.
At 01:29 how do you see inside the mesh?
Turned on 'Backface Culling'. With it enabled, you can see through the mesh if the normals are inverted.

So, I tried making the glass material for the mirror, but it doesn't reflect back at my character. Did you use a reflection probe as well?
He's using cycles in the video, you may be using eevee which only has reflections once you enable them (or use the reflection probe).

I did work on this horror theme for like a month or so..
Watched a few movies took lot of references foud the perfect dark blue shade of light with a suitable sky texture adjustments..
So.. I suggest to rectify light for a bit and also the glass crack colud be a bit refined.

To be frank, the render looks bland. I think it's because it lacks character. It has some moody lighting but the scene doesn't seem to have no momentum

@@RenderRides maybe if the character wasn't agent 47 and looks like more of a normal person it would be easier to connect. It is supposed to be the reflection is looking back, but at the first glance it doesn't look like that. So i would go with a cheerful, yet normal bathroom at night. But the reflection showing an old broken, rotting bathroom. With reflection showing a more evil version of the character. Personally, i would not go with the mirror cracks. It makes it hard to see what is going on. Maybe smaller cracks? i am not sure about this part.
This might be not so good or a terrible idea altogether, but this is my aproach.
