The Ford Probe is a nice car, I love the 90s era where the market was full of coupé cars ♥️
Ya now there's only 700 left in the world 😓
The old Buick is a "business coupe". That area behind the seats, was for storage of items the salesman owner would carry from place to place.
The die hard Mustang fans wrote letters and complained to Ford about the fwd version, and that's one of the reasons they ended up keeping the Foxbody in production for several more years while they developed the 94 SN95 style Mustang. I wrote a letter and bought a new 87 5.0 LX hatch to make sure I got a new, real Mustang for myself! Congrats on the Probe, and looking forward to the video.
That Mazda motor in Probe is best part of the car (some sentiment because had 626 15years ago), it easily can live for 120kkm more. Can't wait for a next episode on Probe. Thank you, Randy 🙂
My 626turbo is still kicking ass at 270,000 miles
I was going to say 120 kilometers really isn’t that nuch
I cannot wait for more of the Ford Probe! It's gonna be GREAT car to add to the channel!
We just picked up a 96 Mazda MX-6 (Probe's twin from another mother) - been sitting since 2007... Parts are hard to find, but after replacing all fluids, valve cover gaskets and most stuff under the hood - she runs amazing. Ours is similar blue / purple color - such a cool/unique car!
Randy, it was fun sitting here listening to you selling yourself the Probe. I wonder how many of us were sitting out there saying, buy the car? As a really old guy {79} I'd say repair it so it's as perfect as you can get it and put it into occasional use because the memories will get further away as you get older and the chances to replicate them further from being possible every year. When you get into the car you get to go back to that magical moment no matter how old you are. Like walking into your grandparents house. No matter what it looks like now you see it when you lived there. Great video. Thank you both and to Indianapolis Copart for helping to make it happen.
I appreciate how much you put into your videos. I'm sure it's not easy at a time like this. Just shows how strong you are as a person. Truly sorry for you and your family loss. Thanks for the great content and have a great day.
Super cool Randy & Mike 🔥🔥 the 3000gt the reason for the fan running is the Ac was engaged. The Probe is nostalgic you should buy it & get it running with your grandpa's tools in front of the old house. Sorry about the situation Randy 😔🙏. Appreciate the vid guys Salute 🔥🚘🤘😎
Years ago when I lived in Florida, I helped a buddy of mine rebuild a Probe GT. It ran like a scalded dog when it was finished. We built it under his carport.
Love the Ford Probe. My first real car was a 93 Mazda MX-6 LS, which was essentially the Mazda version of the Probe. It was in the shop all the time, but still loved it.
The ford probe is a interesting vehicle
Same as a Mazda mx6 I think great engine noise from the V6 ones
Weird name cool car
Save the probe and the 3000 GT
My aunt had a probe when I was growing up, same color too! Can't wait to see it on the channel! You'll be a trendsetter again I feel like after swampvette everyone's been buying C4's (Rich's electric swap, Alex's supercharged auction buy, I even bought a red one lol) Would be funny if everyone starts buying Probes after this!
Randy and your family l am sorry for your lost l hope no one goes through what you went through losing the loved one and on top of that making videos and put smile on your face just to entertaining us. Thanks for all you do.
Great video gentleman. I had a Ford probe in 1995 a red GT I absolutely loved that car. Sadly you don't see them too frequently anymore I'm glad you picked this one up. It deserves to be saved even though it's the four banger. Just a very cool time capsule. This car is begging for a maaco paint job. I would so much love to see that car looking good again. That in my fiero looking back were two of my favorite cars when I was a young man. Had an 88 for your OGT fast as balls no power steering Loved that damn car until I flipped it over in a snowstorm. I literally cried it was completely customized lowered to the ground couldn't even tell it was a fiero anymore it looked like a lotus it had a well-fin spoiler that went over the roof the entire top was glass smoked glass removable. That was a wicked car I still miss it
I have so many fun memories in a ford probe. And loved driving my friends 3000gt. We jumped a 89 Ford probe GT off over some railroad tracks in Crystal Lake Illinois at about 80mph. 🤣
Looking forward to the ford probe video can’t wait to see all the good things you do to it. I really hope the trans is good 😂 being it rolls in park its definitely not in park.
That Ford Probe is a real project car.
I remember my first owning a probe it was a five-speed they're a fast little car going to drive easy to work on thanks for the video bud
Between Probe & 3000-GT i would pick with my eyes close the 3000-GT.. it has less problems than the Probe and is Mitsubishi and very cool model..
Very sad that i'm in Europe otherwise i would jump on that 3000-GT myself..
Love the Probe!
I was fortunate enough to have two of these cars when I was young.
The best interior of anything ever made.
It has a flying saucer 🛸 vibe.
I had a 98 3000GT SL they came with electronic dampening suspension the sport mode would change it so since it has coilovers the sport mode doesn't work anymore. Brings back memories it's been 10 years since I owned it
AM vacuum tube radio in center dash. 55-Kilohertz to 155Khz. Slightly different frequency range than modern AM radios, but pretty close. Would pick up modern AM radio stations without issue if it were restored to working condition.
Worked at a FML dealer when these were new. Drove the 1st gen (much rounder) version with the V6 and an auto (sadly) as a work car. I always liked these, and would be happy to have a GT at some point. I hope it works out well for you with that transmission and Timing Belt.
What's FML
@@danjones6279 ford mercury Lincoln
@@6453103 aha ok, thx, we didn't get Lincoln here in the UK so now I understand
The Probe was intended to replace the Mustang which is a fact. The Mustang fans went on a letter writing binge and the powers that be at Ford did not kill the Mustang instead had a more sporty image going on with the Probe and the Mustang on the dealer lots. I’m not “that guy” but I thought I would share that but with you and your viewers. Glad to see you doing well!
For sleeping on a mattress in the car belongs mostly to Nash where the front seat folded straight back with the back, a laydown mattress, bug screens for the windows, to save you money when you travel. I heard that if you owned one of those as a teenager no father would let his daughter go on a date with a guy and his traveling bed.
The reason why the pro became the pro was because everybody complained before about switching the mustang to front wheel drive it was a big campaign about two or three years of people just complaining and the first year of the pro was 1989
You were so close!
We had a Bosnian exchange student who had one. He called it a Corvette and was CONVINCED it would get him
"American ladies, YEAH!" Thanks for the memories.
Fun Fact: You can fit a 5.0 in there. OR, since it's a JOB anyway, cut out the rusty floor, Body swap it over a Mustang. Boom.
Oh and I spent some formidable years in a trailer park. There were Mustangs, T-top Camaros, super tall trucks and then a dude with a Porsche and a 3000GT. It was black with red stitching inside. I wanted it more than the Porsche.
I could be mistaken, I believe on the Buick, turn on the ignition, and press the gas to the floor for the switch to engage the starter... The house my Mom grew up in, I still refer to as Grandma and Grandpas house. Hope I can up there at some point to see it again! Built in 1898 and still standing in decent shape I understand.
Unless it's been modified it is a 6 volt system. You can put 12 volts on it for a short period and it will crank very fast! I've done it a number of times with the Buick straight 8 and I assume you would want to have the rest of the electricals shut off, when I did it that was the case. This I believe is called a businessman's coupe, a generic term for this type of automobile, and supposedly the back was for a Salesman to put their sample cases.
I'm happy with this car,i would love to own that car and put him back to life and go to coffee and show the people, all the cars have life in it,special this one.
Cant wait to see this car on the video again and rolling out on the street Randy.
Big love.
Yes I'm happy I know you can get it running
Yes, i'm happy! Greetings from Milan, Italy!
My best friend in high school had a probe, blue exactly like that one lol. And he had a audio system in it and I was hooked on the hobby. Still at 38 yrs old if u look at my videos lol. But all started in a Blue Ford Probe! So I'm invested into watching this one!👏
Am sooo Haaaappy man n cant wait to see you working on the Ford and driving it home man..
I had a Turbo Probe with a stick shift with seatbelt at the doors Loved it. Congratz Randy . Sad to hear about your uncle. Looking forward to seeing the video about that Probe and the story. 👍
I dated a girl with the turbo probe and boy it was quick off the line but the torque steer required both hands on the wheel to keep it straight. It was the model before the one Randy looked at here. It was also the replacement for another Ford car called the "Mustang". Thank god that did not happen like they wanted.
3000 GT has always been a favorite of mine I've always wanted one
Can't wait to see the videos on the Probe
Top car and storey, bless you Randy. We had the Probe in the UK but we also had the Mazda MX6 which was the same car rebadged. All right hand drives, cool car but didn’t do very well here.
Have you noticed much of a difference in price between Indiana and Oklahoma at CoPart??
The old Buick, I think you were thinking of a Business Coupe, which this one could be.
The FordProbe definitely a car you don’t see very much anymore, there was a guy on CZcams who actually named his channel FordProbe GT.
You never know the FordProbe could have came from the same place the truck did originally.
Can't wait to see u fixing up the Probe👍 I also have one till today but it's a 94 GT 5 speed and it's in a bit better condition but i hope yours is going to be great too. Wonder if that trans is going to work. Good luck.
Good luck with the probe. I hope it doesn't have a bad transmission though.
So sorry to hear about the passing of your uncle Randy sending you and your family lots of love xx 😢❤️🤗
The linkage for the probe is under the intake, it has a manual linkage and a electrical connector. IF they are connected and it won't shift make sure the speed sensor isn't bad. After that just drop the trans and get a new one. In my 94 GT I only had to swap the trans once.
You probably already know this, but just in case, the ‘37 Buick doesn’t start just with the key. The key only turns on the ignition system. After turning the key to the on position, the starter is engaged through a button on the floor.😉
Im very sorry for your loss randy I give my Condolences I really like that Ford probe I can't wait to see the progress with that car my friend had one back in high school keep up the fantastic job u do and rember you are amazing
Randy loves smelling gas caps!!! Great video 👍
Thanks for the video, Randy.
This is great Randy, another spectacular video with Mike. I'm watching right now. thanks again 💯
Oh no oh no oh no flashbacks are a powerful thing . Thanks for the vlog
Lots of fun ahead
Mustang enthusiasts was upset about the probe taking its place so Ford decided to pull the plug on that idea.
Had a '95 3000gt base, loved it, timing belt change wasn't too bad. Great for long trips.
I love the probe!!! Great purchase
Great one guys, love 90' car, i drive a corolla 98 daily😎👌
That 3000gt is my dream car😍😍😍 love that ford too😷😷😷
I'm not sure about the 37 Buick but my 50 was kind of funny to start. You had to turn the key on and then push the accelerator down which engages the starter. I would bet that old car runs, just no one knows how to start it. I would love to see you try it again but I'm sure you are not even there anymore to try it. Just keep that in mind on pretty much all old Buick's at least until mid 50's I think. Love you guys. 😀
Extremely keen to see the drive home with this one!
Really looking forwards to future videos on the Probe!!
I remember the Probe , sold them in europe too , identical car , which was unusual .
I wanted probe when I was in high school... like the purple too
Love that about the probe! That you fixed one at your uncles house and gonna do it again! 👍👍the old Buick too much.
Probe is a Science Lab
I can see this coming out to around $1,700-$2,500 finished too. She's going to be a fun one to watch get back into fighting shape
both ford and the mitsubishi are cool!
Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!
the 3000gt and probe would be great content
I got a 93 ford probe gt, really fun car but not fast, but it’s been reliable as hell and I only paid 1700 for it, 100% worth it
I'm sorry about your uncle brother. My condolences. Prayers man 🙏. ✌️
The Probes were cool cars. Curious to see how that one turns out!
That Probe is the same as the Mazda MX6, I have the 93 version and I love those cars!!
I seen the pictures of your vehicles she used to work on at your uncle’s house on Facebook and Instagram. The probe will definitely be a good add to the channel.
Love the video as always! Hope you feel better soon!😊
3000gt is an epic car
The probe gts were really nice looking cars. Crazy to think some people at Ford thought they were going to replace the Mustang with the probe.
People loved and cared for those cars. I can guarantee that the timing belt has been changed.
Hi Mike. Good luck randy with that car. Please do that f250. I would love to have that.
I’m happy you brought the ford probe
My dad had ford probe he love that car said it was easy to fix on
I’m sentimental to the probe as well
I'm glad you bought the 95 Ford Prob. I think it will be great content.
My brother in law has a 1941 mostly original and his car has been around the world 3 times it has a story behind the around the world.
3000gt common with oil consumption easy fix the probe in my opinion is an odd car but fun to work on.
So sorry for your loss
The 32 Buick would be an awesome car I'd love to see it totally restored to it's original beauty and as for the steering wheel it's that way because it only has Armstrong steering
Have a bad feeling on that prob had same year when you get under it probably going to find a big hole in the Trans and there hard to find replacements the whole is up high enough you don't lose the fluid. Good luck
God Bless you and your family 🙏
I like the 3000GT, Ford Probe looks okay i like the wheels
Probe is cool. Don't know why they didn't at least give it a quick pressure wash.
the "sleeper" car Mike is referring to would probably be one of the old studebakers. that thing is cool, but as a non-runner, it's not $38k cool... safe travels on the way home, and sorry for the family's loss. keeping you in thoughts and prayers.
Cool, my sister 's1 st car was a red wine colorF 1989 Ford Probe GL,a cool, fun car
The clock does work. It's right twice a day. Lol
Looking forward to seeing please respray it
Hope to see a video of the probe coming back to life.
Manual swap time for the Probe
Randy, right now if you look on Bring A Trailer, the pre war Buicks are bringing under $15,000. It is sad but people don't know what to do with them anymore.
I had a red 90 ford prob gt looked brand new but went thru 3 trannys before I decided to get rid of it
The smartest thing Ford has done
It's a three stage paint you've got the color then the pearl then the clear coat.
When we needed to move my step brothers car (granted we didn’t have a key) we disconnected the transmission so we could drag it onto the trailer. Could be a similar situation
Check the CV joints on the probe!
