I feel this with all my being. Our range went out last night as i was finishing dinner. My husband looked at me and said time to buy another and there was no stress or worry about covering that cost. We have worked hard to get to this point and we're beyond grateful to live comfortably at this level.
I truly believe you and Jay are doing the budget right! We have been married for a lot of years and tried to always live on one person income. This has helped us not exceed our expenses. Sometimes you have to make compromises when you do this scenario however in the end when you have to make life decisions and you're not concerned about the cost you quickly realized it was worth it. Thank you so much you are so inspiring. When I first saw your channel I used to get tense and said I don’t need to hear about people making more money than me. I felt like wealth was being rubbed in my face and showed me how I didn’t make the right choices in life even when I started my life feeling the same about debt . Then the house situation came up and I was glued and looked for the next video. Then I started watching the budget videos and now I look forward to seeing them . I have made changes to my life and cut toxic people out of my life and seek help and ask more questions from the ones that are knowledgeable about finances. You can’t imagine how much you have helped me and motivated me and educated me on a lot of things . I am at retirement age and still working for now because it is necessary at this time but am working on changing that plus I love what I am doing . But thank you so much and I pass on anything I have learned on to people to help them also. Sorry for the lengthy comment I was feeling full today .

My first real job at 16 was working at a grocery store, I remember those check readers, customers were made at ME when it said insufficient funds lol call your bank sir! My first intro to budgeting/money management was when my mom showed me how to balance a checkbook. Good times!! I was feeling frustrated recently because I've barely made any progress towards my savings goals for the year. I haven't done any extra traveling or splurges or frivolous spending. But what I have done so far in 2024, is sent out over $10k to help family members, and then to the IRS, and I haven't touched my emergency fund at all, I didn't sweat about it, haven't missed a bill or a meal. When I look at it that way, it's really a blessing! Family Over Everything!! and the IRS next lol I still have time to work on my goals.
And that's just it - looking at the entire story and seeing how those blessings add up

This video was amazing. I'm a person who likes to share. However, the same has not been receptacle. Sad....I love helping, but don't always get it when I need it. Family is everything. Like you, I've always stood on my own. You are very blessed to have family riders.
Turned in my leased car and removed from insurance now i just have my paid off car and renter's insurance $2300 for the year Take it out of my emergency fund and then low and behold. The next week had an unexpected $1600 car repair. I'm almost back to ground zero but I have $1400 coming in so im very grateful and blessed to be able to take care of the situation 😊

I remember going to the store and purchasing something knowing that it wouldn’t hit my account until 2 to 3 days later. The struggle was real back then. But no longer claiming that kind of energy.

BoA wasn't the only bank that did that. PNC also did that, but also with credit transactions. My husband didn't always track his stuff back in the day and they held all his checks & credit swipes so instead of rejecting it or paying in order, he over swipedfor $5 and triggered 3 overdrafts due to the order cleared.
These banks are/were so predatory!!! And it was by design

I don’t own an electric vehicle but I found out a few weeks ago that my state charges owners of EV’s either a flat fee of $138.50 for the year or one and a half cents per mile monthly in lieu of paying gas tax revenue to support road maintenance. I hadn’t heard of this before. Is this typical? Does this influence buyer’s decisions when they are considering purchasing an EV?
Yup its a thing. And no...I'd rather pay $140 a year for this fee/tax than $60 a week for a tank of gas.

In march I paid $179 for my car registration - about $150 of that was this fee...lol
