The guy with the creepy filter on the face is fantastic! I laughed so hard, a ballet horror movie, I would SO watch!
That donor parody is so real though.... ooof.
Suspiria is ballet horror
maybe with like contortionists that can do ballet lol
It was funny at first and then became genuinely terrifying as it went on lol
Black Swan. Pretty sure that was a ballet horror.
Deadpool on pointe actually fits his character.
😂
1:10 Ballet teacher shoes. They’re supposed to look more professional and offer more support than flats but still allow full flexibility and Demi point for demonstration purposes. Had a teacher who’d been forced into early retirement from the local pro company due to horrible tendonitis in her feet. Could only do pointe for about 20 minutes a day and wearing flats for more than an hour or so a day made it flare up too. So she was either rocking teacher shoes or dance sneakers which were more supportive but a lot less flexible. So we knew it was a bad day when she resorted to the sneakers and a counter stool for part of the class.
There were a couple kids in our class who had ambitions to pursue it as a profession and were going to be changing studios to do intensive pointe prep classes, competitions, and individual coaching (we were all 10-12 at the time, and the studio’s specialty wasn’t really ballet). So she sat us all down one day and had a long chat about life as a professional, EDs, injuries, and the need to have back up plans because you can’t dance forever. She wanted to make sure they understood that being a pro isn’t all sunshine and roses, you really have to make sure you love it enough to give up a lot if this is a life they want to pursue, and where some of the common pitfalls were that they needed to start guarding against early.
Thanks so much for sharing.
That is the dance teacher we all needed in our lives
My dance teacher in college also wore the heeled shoes. She still danced small parts in local ballets (never on pointe), but she used to dance for the Joffrey.
She was really encouraging and just a lovely person all-around. She was my introduction to ballet (I took ballet as an elective because there was no homework) and she made me love it so much that I still dance.
I love these. Where can I buy a pair? 💜🩰
@@jeanettehammond8692 probably anywhere you get dance shoes. A quick search for “ballet teacher shoes” shows a bunch of results. Looks like capezio and bloch both make some along with other brands. Some companies appear to call them Grecian sandals rather than just teacher shoes.
@@ThePointeShop oh 100%. The studio was lucky to have her.
Of all the Marvel Characters, Deadpool is the one I can actally see canonically going on pointe completely seriously and dancing his way through an absolute slaughter of enemies.
Josephine's ability to make anyone laugh even if they dont know a thing about ballet is amazing
I just saw a figure skater named Darlene Gilbert who does it in pointe shoes. It’s incredible.
The second one is "disco foot" (litteraly disco soccer 😂) it's a creation of the Ballet de Lorraine in France and it's absolutely AWESOME go check it out 😍
It's a real game, they keep score and all, but there's music (when I saw it it was mixed in live) and it's a mix of choreographed parts and improvisations ☺️
A ballet in full superhero costumes would be awesome!!! Maybe Prokofiev for the music?
Great idea!
I'd love to see an X-Men ballet!
This is actually something I’ve thought about before (inspired by the “Rogers” musical in Hawkeye - because although that was used as a joke, I genuinely think it would be possible to make a serious ballet). The music in the MCU already has enough specific meaningful themes carried throughout that I think it could form the basis for a ballet already. The hard part would be narrowing down what story to tell in a few hours of ballet when you’re dealing with at least a hundred hours of movies. And of course, doing it without getting sued by Disney.
the idea is awesome! I would love to see Tony Stark/Iron Man en pointe 😂
@@moonlight_crocheter*Imagines Tony in the Iron Man suit on pointe 😂😂 I would kill for the matching red and gold pointe shoes Tony Stark would design - they would be awesome! On those days when you’re super tired, your feet are killing you, and you think you’ll just DIE if you have to practice the Young Swans pas de quatre from Swan Lake for the 57th time in a row, you can just tell Jarvis to activate the power boost that will hoist you up on pointe!!
I love that the Deadpool cosplay was made so the owner can dance in it, that's just really cool to me.
My 3 year old started Highland dancing this year, which is adorable enough, but then when her 13 month old sister goes to class with us, or watches her sister practicing, she's trying to copy too. It's just so stinking cute.
They look very similar and both are redheads so I can see them doing "twin" routines in the future XD
The urge to dance ballet all over the house is real! Even though I have absolutely no training in ballet or any other form of dance
I met you today! I'm the girl who almost had a meltdown of happiness when I realized who you were and what you were doing at our studio 😂
Those heeled ballet slippers look very similar to the split sole/mesh upper ballroom dance practice shoes in my closet. Actually two pairs - one for dance studios, one for street wear. Damn comfy shoes!
I have that doll!! Dancerella is her name. She is a retired ballerina now, living at my mom's house along with the other retired dolls. She still has her ballet outfit and toe shoes on. 🥰
I loved my sansha split soles. I think I still have two pairs. But I also want those ballet character shoe cross hybrids or whatever you want to call them. They are so cool.
for real though ... i don't even dance anymore and i want them.
@@linkabird_vt same here!
@@linkabird_vt IKR?
The Sansha Pro 1C's are actually really really flattering - probably *the* most flattering ballet slipper I've worn. Super comfortable too - they just work. None of the other Sansha models work the same. (Also funnily I got my first pair during a Summer Stage at Académie Princesse Grace when I had just ran out of shoes, which makes them extra special!)
I had them or something very close to it. Mine had mesh in the split sole and I loved them.
I am definitely in for a Marvel themed ballet! I can only imagine what a full Deadpool variation would look like (in my head, it is very naughty)! 😂 I would love to do a variation dressed as Scarlet Witch.
I've never danced ballet and probably never will but i love these videos!
100% agree. After "Rogers: The Musical" we definitely need something like "Falcon lake". 😂
I definitely still have a pair of my Sansha shoes lol. I couldn’t get rid of them, and since I found an adult ballet class that works with my schedule, they’re about to be resurrected lol. And creepy donor lady had me 🤣😂😂!! And I’m so here for a Marvel ballet!
THE BALLET DONOR ONE IS SO REAL IN THEATRE TOO
Hey Josephine!
I'm 26 and I've never danced in ballet. As a kid I danced in a school club, but it was a modern dance and we didn't do any ballet in there.
I love your videos and you inspired me to sign up to adult ballet classes that starts in January. I always wanted to do it, but I thought it's "too late" for me. I won't be a professional ballerina, but it doesn't matter ❤❤
I'm excited for you !! Have a wonderful time 🙂
@@red-inmy-50s-temper-dont-match Thank you!!
It’s NEVER too late to start dancing! In one of the beginning adult ballet classes I taught several years, One of my students was 50 years old. Yes, 50. She told me she’s had always loved ballet and wanted to learn, but life got in the way. When she turned 50, she said she wasn’t going to wait any longer, so she finally signed up, and LOVED it. She took class once a week for three years, danced in the recitals and everything. Then one day she fell down some stairs at home and severely injured one of her ankles, and had to stop taking ballet. We were all heartbroken on her behalf, but she was still happy that she had finally fulfilled a lifelong dream. Shout out to Priscilla, where ever you are!
Love these videos, they're so interesting and educational to a person who doesn't even know how to dance at all. You know, this past Saturday I went and saw a ballet version of "A Christmas Carol" and it was utterly beautiful and breathtaking. I've read the book and seen a movie about but the ballet is the best version ever.
I also want that fully costumed Marvel ballet! That wee girl with her mama was adorable.
YES!!!! A BALLET OF ALL MARVEL CHARACTERS!!!! I'M SO IN FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those shoes you were asking if they were character shoes I used to wear for teaching all the time. Those were canvas but mine were black leather. Super comfortable for your back to have a little bit of a lift under the heel when teaching long days or running really long rehearsals. Also remember the oompa loopa orange sanshas very fondly :D
Tbh I wore the Sansha split soles as a preprofessional dancer and they made my feet look really good :o now as an adult hobbiest I have Bloch's but they are just not roomy enough. If I continue ballet I'd definately return to the Sansha slippers.
3:01 can we talk about how pretty those walls are.
Hi Josephine I had that ballerina doll that does the pirouettes but she was pink. Omg haven't seen that in decades. She really did turn!!!
Dancerina was the earlier, blonde haired pink outfitted version, and Dancerella was the brunette, lighter costumed doll. I remember them too!
I love it when you upload Josephine ❤❤❤
I had my picture taken in front of that Grapevine Texas mural! I was just standing there like a rock. This video is phenomenal!
That first plie crack and crunch is my favourite part of class. It’s so funny for no reason 😂😂
Omgosh I had one of those dols but it was blue and pink, she had a battery pack in the back. I loved that doll
Ok those ballet slipper heels look like they would be dope for burlesque practice, kiiiinda really need them!
I love your videos so much ♥️💯👌
WOAH IM EARLY AF
i love the ballet tiktok videos
I agree with the last one. I'd love to see a corp of Marvel character costumes.
I BINGE WATCHED EVERY BALLET TIK TOK YOU DID
@ 1:13 I love the ballet high heel slippers they are adorable ❣️🎉😃👍🏽
Girl, you have made me ballet, demi point with baby yoda socks!
Sansha's split soles came to market in the mid 90's. I remember having them with teacher who's classes I stopped taking after those came to market and I stopped taking her classes at '97. Those things where the best thing to have already back then and I don't think I would change away from them if I would go back to taking classes. I actually have one pair still in my closet lol. As seem to be a lot of other ex dancers. 😍
1:10 those are ballet teacher shoes
I, too, need a whole ballet of male Marvel characters (with matching/coordinated) point shoes! ❤❤❤😅
I was wearing Bloch split soles for several years before I remember the sansha shoes getting big. The Bloch prolite II, I still wear them now, 30 years later.
OMG! I had one of those dolls! I completely forgot about it. But now I remember it because when you hang on to the crown thing, the hair would get all tangled up in it when she spins.
That doll is spotting better than me.
sansha pro canvas LOL everyone at my studio (except for the little girls that wore full sole shoes) wore those, including me!!
NEVER STOP MAKING THESE VIDEOS
The mother doing barre with her baby. It's the most beautiful thing I saw in my life.😊
I had my first split sole ballet shoes in the mid-80’s ish. Fit like a glove. Softest leather. Game changer. Probably Capezio.
Josephine, I had the ballerina doll that twirled, I loved it
2:03 this reminds me of the episode of gilmore girls where the grandpa "adopts" a ballet dancer lmao
Where can I see more of that adorable baby!! Rond de jambe and fifth position arm at 18 months? She’s going far!
Claudia dean was the mood walker in clip 2! Shes an Australian
The ballet donor looks like a villain in a Barbie movie 😂
i dont do ballet, yet i been binging these like crazy
My ballet teacher decades ago had heeled ballet shoes like those.
Oh I absolutely had a ballet teacher with those heeled canvas ballet shoes.
Ballet shoes were a fashion item when I was younger in 7th grade late 1950s. I had them in black.
I definitely remember having split soles in the 90s from Bloch.
I had that ballerina doll ! Love her to bits. Mom tried several times to throw her away after she broke. I kept digging her out.lol
That doll was called Dancerella and came out in about 1977/78. I wanted one so badly, but I got a Superstar Barbie instead and was pretty happy with that instead.
I WANT those ballet character shoes!! 😁👠🩰
The guy with the creepy filter left me unhinged and just as creeped out as you felt in the videos.
The shoes you like so much are actually split sole jazz shoes, in a very classic jazz shoe style. You can get them in all different styles and colors, including a boot style.
I have a pair, made by Bloch, which are an athletic shoe style, which would be perfect for jazzercize, as well as for use in a jazz class for daily wear. I usually wear a prescription orthotic, in my everyday street shoes, but surprisingly, I can wear the Blochs and dance, and I don't feel that tired painful arch thing at all. There must be some kind of structural thing that allows people to wear them (the athletic style, at least) without needing to put in a prescription orthotic, which of course wouldn't be possible anyway, since the soles bend in the middle like they do.
Split sole jazz shoes are great for wearing to dance in a nightclub, too, and with the range of styles available, you can match them to pretty much any kind of outfit. It's been years since I danced with a semi-professional troupe, but I bought mine in 2013 or thereabouts to wear when dancing with a more casual group. I think maybe split soles came out about 20 years ago. Since you didn't recognize them, I take it you only sell pointe shoes(?)
I moved away from San Francisco, where I did a good bit of my dance training, in 1996, so maybe your store was not around then. I love your show - your commentaries make me laugh so much! I need that right now, especially having caught COVID a week before Christmas. 😕
The doll was a Dancerina from the 60's...I had a blonde one. And she even came with a litle cardboard record!
Fabulous!
Okay, I seriously need those character / ballet shoes!!! Can anyone provide a link to the purveyor of such perfection?
Ooooohh!!! I had one of those dolls❤❤
Dangit I just did my makeup! The little baby made me all teary!
Agree with the marvel ballet!!!❤❤❤
Your faces while watching the guy with the filter😂😂😂😂
I would love to see josephine to react to some of the Rush E ballet videos, some of them go crazy
The ballet baby was adorable! I totally would have done that with my first and third babies. I, too, would love a Marvel character ballet. Whoever danced Deadpool and Nick Fury would have to be very special!😄
I had a dancer at my old studio who wore them bc she had some sort of foot issues. And she was the owner's daughter so that proves that this can happen to anyone.
The dancing doll is called a Dancerina. It was sold in the 1970’s. I remember it well, but never had one.
I wish you would do a comparison of climbing shoes and ballet slipper. My shoes look like a hard sole ballet slipper.
I was born 2000 and I have been wearing the Sansha Pro since i was 12😂 best shoes i ever had (when the stitching doesnt rip on the bottom side)
6:29 my dance teacher told me last year she was thinking about being spider gwen for halloween since she had some old pointe shoes that she could dye the same teal color that gwen has on her costume
28?! Let's go!
I order pointe shoes for my company. PRO-1C are still a male favourite for shoes, but alot of my dancers wear Sodanca SD16 now, but they don't last half as long at the Sasha's.
A healthy looking adult ballerina is beautiful. I bought the OG shoe to use as slippers. They kept my feet so warm.
Those ballet shoe heels are VERY similar to the Sansha Teacher Shoes.... But Sansha only has leather.
The doll was funny because I collect My Little Pony and was cleaning up one of the ballerina themed one recently, and was thinking of taking some video of all of them for Josephine to react to. Call it Josephine reacts to ballet toys. XD sadly I don’t have the IG or the TiketyTok, so I don’t know how I’d get it to her.
I feel like she should do reactions to figure skating and see how similar and different it is. I'm a skater and did ballet for like a year, during covid. Never went en pointe but always wanted to. been skating for almost five years. Still, Josephine should totally do a figure skating react video. At least one, please 🥺
The ballet slippers with a heel - in Russia we call it "teacher's shoes" sometimes 😂
The Donor from Hell was classic!
I could probably get my hubby to go to the ballet if they did a full on Marvel or DC theme
You really MUST watch the Quangdong troupe of China doing Swan Lake. BEAUTIFUL
When I was three, I got a kitten for my birthday. A few hours after the kitten came home with us, my mom and I were having full-blown allergic reactions. She had to take my kitten back, and I got that ballerina doll instead. ❤ It was good to see her again. 😢
I love how the baby is dancing in the carrier. You can see her lift her legs. Ballet is in her blood!
I had the baby doll when I was little girl in late 70s to early 80s.
I had split sole Bloch ballet slippers and jazz shoes in 1991 to 1992.
finally no cups 💪
Lol I just started dance again after years away and I'm using my old shoes that are that brand with the split sole and they're so chunky and my big toes are coming thru on both sides 😂😂😂 so you're saying there's new better designs now?? ❤
I would 100 percent buy tix to an MCU ballet. 😂💕
hi! i would like to ask your opinion on chacott pointes, what do you think of them or the brand in general? i know with pointes there is no one fits all, since they must be fitted to the dancer but in terms of quality and the type of pointes they make; what do you think? are they good in general or better known brands such as grishko or freed better? thank you in advance :)
The first tiktok is a girl Belle Urwin and she is a professional ballerina but you guys have put so many of her tiktoks in these and it's so funny how you haven't noticed. These are so good also! ;)
Potter Puppet Pals & Superheroes taking over the stage.
Have you seen the music video for Ashes (the Celine Dion song in deadpool ...2?) It has deadpool dancing in stilettos. Not ballet, but still worth a watch
can you do a reaction video on the lollironi duos
