I look forward to Brad’s channel! I saw an interview he did on a previous channel and I’m glad he’s come home! I was born into the JW. My family that wasn’t witnesses were also anti Catholic. I feel bad for my family still in the cult. I pray for St Monica’s intercession to bring them Home. They missed my baptism and my child’s into the Catholic faith. I pray they will get to see my son make his 1st Holy communion when the time comes.

I just had 2 JW knock on my door and we had a nice conversation. I explained the mystical body of christ (after they asked me if I'd ever thought about God's kingdom on earth and I said YES!) , I explained how it mimics the Davidic kingdom with King, prime Minister and Queen mother. And I said all baptised believers are in the mystical body of christ and then I turned to them and said, "Actually, you don't have a valid baptism bc you don't believe in the trinity! You're outside the kingdom!" They were shocked. Then I said, "I'll pray for you and you can pray for me! Have a good day!" We also talked about monotheism and the error there vs the trinity as a mystery revealed to us.

As a born and raised Jehovahs Witness I always love seeing the JW to Catholic conversion stories. I left the JWs at age 25. That was 8 years ago and I went from being sure I was atheist, to kinda unsure to getting myself a Catholic Bible and a catechism to try to figure out why the JWs dislike Catholics so much. I’ve been drawn to the Church for years now but I’m hesitant to join another religion.

I suggest attending the Catholic church on Easter Sunday, in a traditional Catholic church. It may take a while to find the right parish. We changed parishes, due to the parish priest. They have regular proper bible studies, with open questions, no judgments if you question, friendly. Once you find the right parish, try to talk to the parish priest and register to study the faith. We have people in our parish who joined the faith, others pulled out. It is open to everyone to welcome home. I am Catholic, but chose to be confirmed into the Catholic faith. Visited the holy land with our parish, and it was such a blessing, also the early fathers of the Catholic church are a great educators. It is a journey that takes time with prayer and patience. Wishing a wonderful journey ahead.

All of these facts are the reason not to take “religion” so lightly and to do serious and critical study of the Scripture, the Tradition, the Church Fathers, the ecumenical creeds, and the controversies of the past. One must study church history to avoid the pitfalls of schism and heresy… and their bitter consequences. This was a good testimony. 😊😊😊. There literally is something for everyone in the Catholic Church! 👍

God bless you. The Catholic Church is divinely founded by Jesus Christ (Mt.16;13). The bible is best proof that the Catholic Church is the true church. The others are all originated from man. The Catholic Church received the teachings of Jesus through the apostles while the teachings outside the Catholic Church are all private or cafeteria interpretations of the bible, full of errors and inconsistencies.

As a Catholic, welcome home Brad. I am praying for my mum's close friend a former Catholic who became a JW after very sadly her 15 year old son died in an accident. Unfortunately her daughter became a JW, and married a divorced elder with two grown up children. He treated her terrible, abusive and had to prove the JW elders that he was cheating etc. Was granted divorce, but they all her JW friends abandoned her anyway. She has depression as a result. I pray for everyday that she may leave the JW org and come back home one day, but while her mum is alive, she wont, as her mom is hard core JW, yet she is close friends with my mum a devout Catholic.

    • @CatholicTruthOfficial
      @CatholicTruthOfficial  Před 6 měsíci +4

Thanks for the comment. I have a few thoughts on this. A cold shoulder is not the same thing as the Holy Spirit. You have to know that Catholics go to church to worship God. It's not a social time, although there are events at churches that are social. So we go in ready to pray, whereas Jehovah's Witnesses don't really do that. They talk to each other and then study a book. They don't even take communion, which is against the Bible. Jesus said it's for everybody. Then they just listen to a talk. Catholic churches have Bible studies and other events too where people are friendly and welcoming. But church can be a little more difficult Because we go to worship and are focused on that. Mormon's, atheists, and other religions, in Catholics have gone into Catholic churches when they are empty and just sat there and built the presence of God.
Finally, One time I walked into a Kingdom hall and I immediately got a big headache and felt dark which is the sign of an evil spirit. I had to do deliverance prayers to get rid of it.

    • @TruLuan
      @TruLuan Před 6 měsíci

@@richardcopperfield8978 That is not the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit is God and JW's believe it's "The Force"
      Acts 5:3-4 (RSV):
"But Peter said, 'Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.'"
      John 16:13-14 (RSV):
"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you."
      Romans 8:26-27 (RSV):
"Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."

When it comes to the doubts that you stack in a bookshelf until one thing just topples it all over, that’s the sentiment I got from my grandparents who left the Catholic Church a little while ago. They’ll mention things like “that thick book” the code of canon law with all the laws it imposed on the faithful, they’ll mention that someone told them a priest couldn’t give someone last rites because there wasn’t evidence he was baptized even though he told them he was, and a lot of other things like that which scandalized them over time and built up to lead them away. I know I can’t easily address everything they have issue with because it’ll then be another thing in the long list. They still consider themselves believers and will visit a church if they’re invited, but they don’t want to identify as big C Catholic anymore. Pray for them and any advice would be helpful (perhaps I just ask to listen to everything).

I am also a former JW. I left 12-13 years ago when I was like 25. For me it was the bad experiences I had, the sexual abuse cases started to pop up back then (which they have been able to cover up pretty well). But in the end my faith broke on the question of blood transfusions. I remember it like yesterday. When it hit me. The Jewish concept of pekuach nefesh (saving a life), all the time Jesus used this concept. And then realizing that we are letting children die because blood is the symbol of life. I never realized before that… blood is holy because it represents life. And therefore it is completely nuts to let someone die for a symbol that you believe is holy because life itself is so sacred. It shattered me to the core. Also because the JW focus so much on the Pharisees being hypocritical, (which is mixed with a strange anti-Semitic vibe), turned out they are more hypocritical then the Pharisees ever where. The Antisemitism also didn’t make Disfellowship myself via letter not soon after. Got divorced later one, because I found out that what got us together was the religion, and she hooked up with a friend of mine (that was the biggest reason of the divorce haha). After that I went full in to Judaism, let go of Christianity all together (because everything turned out to be one big fat lie). Then I became basically a follower of Rabbi Tovia Singer, who “proved’ my preconceived feelings that the new testament is a corrupt book. Did that for about 6 years. And then I met my now wife (Polish catholic). Hated the church very deeply. Felt I knew everything after years of study. I looked down on the church because for me it was the whore of Babylon. Then it all changed. I felt a pull towards the Eucharist. I loved the reverence and the liturgy (but still hating everything catholic at the same time). Because papist are stupid superstitious people right! Then I made the choice to read the church fathers. Ignatius of Antioch and clement where the first. Now I understand why this was so forbidden for the JW. Turned out that these guys where pretty Catholic.
Now I will be baptized and confirmed, coming easter. Although my brother was ex communicated and my parents have distance themselves for years from the JW. Still they think I am crazy. To them the catholic church is one big freakshow of theater and nonsense. So they will not be attending the service.. But I’ll have to respect that. They are still very disappointed… they spend 60 years of their life in something that turned out to be a lie… I understand their scepticisme.

I remember when I was actively looking for a religion or domination in Christianity and some very nice JWs came by. I asked them what do you believe that's different from everybody else? And, they just said that the believe that the new kingdom of God will be built on earth. And I was like.. oh. I didn't think that was weird, I thought it was odd because I thought all Christians believed God would make a new earth and it would be his kingdom. Anyway. I'm a little mad they didn't tell me the actual differences! Or they honestly didn't know.

It’s interesting you ask about the money side of it. Jehovahs witnesses regularly ask for donations. When that one was thrown at me when we left I specifically asked how the governing body pay for the mansion they live in. The bethelites and circuit overseers all live in bethel. Who pays for that?

Same false god? Do you know anything about these religions? The Catholics believe in the Divinity of Christ and the Trinity, and the Jehovah's Witnesses do not. So clearly, they're not the same God.
We believe the Bible and don't reject it. In fact we are the ones who made it, canonized it, copied it for a thousand years, protected it from being destroyed, translated it into different languages and more for over a thousand years before your religion was even invented by another man.
We reject your religion because you believe in man-made Traditions added to the word of God. Like the Bible alone. That's the whole foundation of the Protestant religion and the Jehovah's Witness religion, but it's not biblical.
However, if you can find me one verse where it says the Bible is the final authority, or you have to prove everything with the Bible as the final authority, and I will leave the Catholic church. Good luck. :-)

@@CatholicTruthOfficial first of all your "Catholic truth" is an oxymoron.
What the church says it believes, is not what you actually do. You also deny what you practice. Truthfully, if you believed and did what the bible says, Catholicism would cease to exist. The Trinity you say you believe replaces Jesus with Mary. You need not look any farther than your own literature. One of your most beloved popes cried out to Mary to save him. Instead of crying out to the real Savior. It couldn't be more telling than "no Mary, no Jesus. Know Mary, know Jesus." Where do lies like that come from. Certainly not from Jesus. Whoever came up with that totally ignored the Jesus you say you follow. Jesus said ",I am the way." Jesus also said "no man can come to me, EXCEPT THE FATHER WHICH HATH SENT ME DRAW HIM." if I miss something here. I don't see Mary's name in either of these two scriptures. Jesus said "pray to the Father" not his mother. Scripture says that in ALL prayer and supplication make your petitions KNOWN TO GOD." or Jesus gave Mary any special powers or special names. I know she is called blessed and highly favoured . She is alsoo called the handmaiden of the Lord. But queen of heaven? I know the spin on this. I also know that Mary carried Jesus in her womb, Jesus was sinless, so Mary must be sinless. More like the church said it, believe it or we'll damn you to hell.
      Such deep rooted theology.
You believe the bible? I would laugh if it wasn't such a serious matter. You made it? I'm not sure that your supposed first pope agrees with you and your church. Peter says no such thing. In fact Peter says many things which don't align with the church. Too many to list.. I will mention only one. Your church says Peter is the chief shepherd, right. Who does Peter say is the chief shepherd. A hint, not him. You protected it? Who wouldn't? But you only mention the good part. You also turned people at the stake for having a bible. You stopped it's printing and you turned the bible. I guess the Catholic mind says, we made it so we can do what we want.
You reject Protestantism because of man made traditions? You just love to call that old proverbial kettle black. You are the creators of tradition. It is not protestants that say tradition is equal to scripture. Only scripture is infallible. Any post biblical writings or oral traditions are fallible. They come from man. Scripture says God's word is pure and perfect. Tradition can not claim that. Well , ok, you made me a liar, your church makes that claim.
Sola Scriptura? Oh, I know why you reject it. One, it exposes Catholicism. In addition you church claims that not everything has to be in the bible. Of course not because everything you teach is not in the bible. And you want to discount the bible alone? The Mormons, the Jehovah's, Muslims all reject it. The reason is obvious. You all have similar things in common. An earthly leader, your own "sacred writings", added revelation from God. Your church adds that it has sole authority to interpret scripture. Authority which is not scriptural. In closing can you tell me what these scriptures mean? Deuteronomy 4:2, " ye shall not add into the word which I command you." Proverbs 30:6, "Add not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar." Isaiah 8:20, "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to THIS word, it is because there is no light in them." I will leave you with Revelation 22:18-19 to read on your own. If sola scriptura is so wrong why does scripture say not to add anything to it? Not even tradition? You can't read these scriptures and not deduce that the bible alone is what God intended it to mean. Only his word. Only his word is infallible, his written word.

When the priest consecrate the bread and wine they become the Body and Blood of Christ, so when you receive the Eucharist it has his Blood in it.

@@asdfasdf3989 Okay, the problem I have with this is Catholics always put on a front of total unity in their church. If the sacraments are administered differently, I don't see unity. Especial if a part of the sacrament is withheld from the laity.
I find it very strange how the church of Rome puts great emphasis on the sacraments being the literal blood and body of Christ, that is essential for life, yet the laity are barred from partaking (dependent on what church you go to).
Christ is saying, do this (lords supper) in remembrance of me. Not a part of it.
Reason for asking is the young man in the video stated one of his concerns why he left the JW's did not let the laity partake of the sacraments.......

@@wonderfulcounselor7233 "whether you receive one or the other, you are receiving both"
Every Mass, around the world, in different languages - is the same celebration. Even if you are English speaking and you go to Japan, and the whole Mass is in Japanese - you can still follow because it's the same. So, the sacraments are not administered differently - if you receive the Body, the Blood of Christ is in the Body too.
Only those who do not fully understand or believe in the transubstantiation of the bread and wine into Christ's body and blood, or those not in a state of Grace, should not receive the eucharist / receive the sacrament. It comes down to an honest assessment of the person receiving the sacrament - one which all Catholics must actively start focussing on in future. I think there is a whole Eucharistic revival going on at the moment though... which is very encouraging.
I also don't think any Mass has ever served just the blood of Christ. It's either the Host, or both.
From the video - I seem to remember the JWs didn't partake not because they were not allowed to, but because they were not "qualified" to. But - can you state that the JW's "sacrament" meant anything other than just bread and wine?? Hardly a sacrament then...

This is a claim without any facts. You're also ignoring the fact that the Jehovah's witness watch tower has predicted the world end many times and failed every time. The Bible says that if you predict something to happen in the name of the Lord and it doesn't come to pass, then you are a false prophet. This disqualifies the Jehovah's witnesses from top to bottom. They are false prophets worthy of destruction according to the Bible. 1914. 1918. 1925. 1975 and more.
