Project Racing Green is my 1989 Rover Mini Racing Green that has had an official John Cooper conversion fitted by John Cooper Garages. The standard 998cc engine is boosted from 41BHP to 60BHP thanks to the engine upgrades. The upgrades include a polished and ported Cylinder head with enlarged valves, LCB exhaust system, Roller tip rockers, and Twin HS2 SU Carburetors. The interior enhancements include walnut door cappings, walnut dashboard, alloy door furniture, and luxurious John Cooper emblem full leather GTS recliner seats.

Keith.. one day and job at a time..
I have not touched my project car for two years..wiring is my nemesis.
But you have given me motivation to restart this weekend..👍
Your Mrs looked more happier to help than mine ever is!
LOL
Keep up the good work Keith it inspires me to carry one with my project, with all the bodged repairs I have removed I must of saved about 20kgs in weight ! and the worst of it is these original repairs were carried by so called mini specialists.
And that my friends is how you’re meant to weld a plate in great job Keith 😅
Nice one Keith, really enjoying following this one. Amazing weight reduction removing the MultiRepiared section.
& the older you get the more the "i've lost my mojo" appears. Working to hard also makes your projects take the back burner!!
Sorry to hear you have been losing your enthusiasm recently. I know the feeling as I have done nothing on my Mini today due to the cold and very wet weather we are currently experiencing in NW England. I tend to cheer myself up by ordering some parts and watching videos on CZcams like yours! Keep it up.
Amazing work fabricating and welding back together 👍
I know how you feel re your mojo… usually it when you keep finding more stuff that needs doing, so you feel you’re going backwards not forwards (all effort, no returns). Just remember how great this car will be! You’ll be winning in no time. FYI I’m telling myself this too 🤣 It’s good to hear your honestly… makes us mortals feel better 👍
That toe board looked difficult 😳. You seemed to cope with it though. I liked the way you walked out of the subframe 😁😁.
As always you make it look so easy! Ahahhahahaha
Great progress, when we removed the floorpan from projectneo it was 3 layers thick and so so heavy so was good to see the weight difference on that repair panel
Lets cue Timelapse. Love it.
Hi Keith, Is there a video or plan for the jig you used as i need the same for my mini as has the same front end issues as project Green. Many thanks in advance.
czcams.com/video/P72GwMMZPCw/video.html Does this help?
Rust NEVER ( 24/7/365 days ) sleeps or takes holidays often rust repairs near enough is good enough!!!! Instead of doing a PROPER job!! At least in UK you have parts supply for classic cars, here ( NZ ) either impossible to find or 6mths for panels/parts from overseas!!
wow wow wow that was bodged metal work shame on who ever did the work
Hiya Keith-it's like watching the Bruce build again. If you're losing your mojo now Keith what will you be like when you reach your 40's? Keep well and keep going!
