David won the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th rounds, but lost the 5th round 50.5%/49.5%. This was also under different rules, where the 3 parts of the Labour Party (MPS, Members, Affiliates) all had 1/3rd of the power, so MPS (voted for Milliband) had a lot more power, ED also lost the members vote but won the trade union and affiliates vote by a landslide. Allowing on average him to scrape it. Ed then changed the rules to be 1 member 1 vote, with affiliates and people who pay £3 able to vote as well. With thier votes counting the same which enabled corbyn to take over.

In retrospect this comes across as a bit of a hit piece on behalf of the BBC who I thought were meant to be renowned for their impartiality. I think when reporting is so overtly cynical like this, not just for left wing candidate but for anyone, it’s no wonder why this cynicism rubs off on other people and overt & extreme distrust in the political system becomes normal. Certainly makes clear for me why politics has been so polarised for the last 5 years.
