In the book it's mentioned, that the lady who left that message's name is Edith Prior, Tris's great grandmother but the movie fails to mention that

Oh my god the soundtrack, the acting... everything. I LOVED this movie
Unpopular opinion but I actually really liked this film despite the changes and liking the book more, but the primary themes and plot was still there and told beautifully. This scene actually makes me tear up because the way Edith Prior spoke was as if she knows how far humanity has sunk and that she and the other founders are looking to the divergent for hope. And it's heartbreaking because Jeannine killed so many people in the name of factions but in the end the founders always meant for humanity to rise above them and be more than one category. The music is phenomenal too.
i’m about 4 years late to this but i wish jeanine hadn’t immediately tried to shut tris up after she said “we were never the problem; we’re the solution”. it would have been much more realistic for jeanine’s entire earth-shattering moment to be less “in denial” in the sense of “cover it up”, but much more… trying to pretend she was doing it all in the name of good-intentions.
Edith Prior has a compelling voice
This is one of those truth reveals that makes you feel inspired and hopeful.
I loved how she said divergents are not the enemy.
This was the BEST film of the franchise. Shame for the film after this.

Since I watched the movie, I absolutely loved the message at the end as the people there were given the message that they were not alone. And I can't imagine how beautiful it must feel to hear those words. And I think about how if we find aliens, even if they are, in the future, hostile towards us, hearing that we are not alone I'm sure will make me break down in tears from hapiness.
Her voice reminds me of how contact would be made:

This scene made me kinda mad. Jenine is supposed to be dead. In the book, Tori kills her. I was also waiting for the hologram to say that she was Edith Prior. But she's didn't. This movie kinda sucked..

2018 and still do not accept the fact that they took and amazing book trilogy and turned into one good movie, a second acceptable and third that is a piece of shit. With all do respect, everyone who keeps critizing the saga itself should really read the books and find out the story is actually interesting. They tried to make it look good on screen and more futuristic and completely ruined the story. This scene for instance, it wasn't a box, it was a simple projector. The message was delivered with way more information in a much darker way, showing extremely grapich moments of the purity war, and with an amazing final touch: "My name will be Edith Prior, and there is much I'm happy to forget", allowing us to know that the woman is an ancestor of Tris Prior, the first of the Prior family, who volunteered herself to enter the experiment of Chicago (as many others) to allow her pure DNA to lead to a member of the family that also reached purity over the years... And that's Tris, who is specifically special because her mother was also genetically pure. Anyways, I apologize for my english, it's not my native language. Just read the book guys, it's actually amazing.
I totally agree ! I was a huge fan of the books, easy to read and cool story but damn the movies ruined it.. especially the third, I fell asleep when I went to see it, so boring and confusing. Worse part, we don't even have the end, I thought they'd do something with Tris's death but not even

I 100% agree, while looking at the middle / end of insurgent I'm really confused cuz I just finished insurgent the book and I just am really really confused.
The only thing I’m happy about the movies is that Tris doesn’t actually die. Like for real... the fact that she was willing to die instead of her brother was enough and eventually she died bc someone shot her. That’s the one thing I’m happy they didn’t do in the movie
