    I recently purchased the R6, and it so different to the 5D IV.
    Great information from Roberto about the menu system and explaining why he has changed some of the default setting.
    There are many videos about this out there, but this is a no-brainer. I have followed Roberto for years, he is a great photographer, educator and inspiration.

    Roberto, thank you for making this series. I have recently purchased the R5 and have now watched all of your instructional videos for the camera and it has been such an enormous help. Got to say the R5 is a brilliant camera, wasn’t sure if I should be buying such an expensive camera but now very happy I did.

    Thanks, Roberto. I just received my R5 C, and these videos helped more than you can imagine. I've been shooting Canon for years, and you've enlightened me on features I know I would have overlooked with this camera.

    Thanks for doing these videos. I still need to put mine out, hopefully next week.
    I'm surprised at how many people don't know that the FAVORITES menu exists. I think it's one of the most useful features of the Canon menu system. I configure my most used items there and almost never need to go anywhere else.

    Roberto! I'm a long time pro. And yet there are so many new functions to learn and understand. Your clear honest information was so needed. I appreciate you explaining the what, the how and the why. I cannot imagine how much work went into producing this series but you did fantastic. Thank you.

    Thank you so much for this series! As a portrait photographer this has helped me confidently get up and running with the R5. My favorite tips were in the custom tab with regard to switching quickly between one shot and servo, 1 pt vs face tracking, and finally using the lens ring to adjust kelvin. This must have taken you forever to put together. Your efforts are really appreciated Roberto! Thanks again.

    I feel very lucky to have obtained what seems like the last R6 in my city yesterday. Funny enough it was even harder to get my hands on an EF to R mount but I got one of those too. Your series has been more than beneficial to me, thanks for all the detail you’ve put into them. Subscribed and liked!

    Great video as always!! Used some of the settings you suggested when i got the R6. So far i have done a good amount of photoshoots with it since i got it back in December 2020. The R6 is just amazing. Its a great hybrid camera. Canon knocked it out of the park imho. Dance photography is what i mainly shoot. It is accurate and the eye AF is spot on with EF lenses. Images straight out of camera requires minimal post processing or if none in my experience with the camera. I used the EOS R to EF adapter since i still have my old lenses. I still use my 5D Mark IV at times (when more megapixels are needed). I use it less and less though. So, I may just switch over to the new format completely and sell my 5D Mark IV and replace it with the R5 or another R6.

    This series was first-class; many thanks! At some point I’d like to hear more about why you prefer the Neutral Picture Style when shooting colour. Thanks!

    • @RobertoValenzuela
      @RobertoValenzuela  Před 3 lety +1

      Neutral doesn't apply any generic sharpening to the JPEG files. Even though, I don't shoot in JPEG, sometimes I still have to use them for speed in delivery of a teaser. A generic sharpening application across the entire image doesn't do the file any favors. That's why I chose Neutral.

  • @susanreilly8488

    Do you shoot manual or ettl with your off-camera strobes? The reason I ask is that I use Godox AD600s and with the r5, I am no longer able to use HSS and ettl. I can shoot HSS in manual, or I can shoot ettl below 1/200. Is there any strobe (500w or above) that you're aware of, that I can use HSS and ettl? (On-camera flash is fine with HSS). Thanks! I know this is a bit off-topic, but given your endorsement of flash for photography, I'm hoping you might have an insight.
