This was performed live at The Garage on Beck in Salt Lake City, the venue where we played our concert on tour. Scroll all the way down for lyrics! I wrote this song "What I'm Losing" about the dark side of touring, but we sure are having a blast at these shows. Toni and I are off to Europe as a duo next week to join our friends The Other Favorites for another month of dates.

I'm an old guy, from MN too. I grew up with Paul Simon, Leo Kottkey, John Prine, Jerry Jeff, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zant, Willie of course, Johnny Cash, et.al., all great song writers and this song, Reina, rates as one of the best. Everything about it is spot on. You and Toni are in some rare air.

This is such a great song about musicians and their feelings on the road. I heard it with just Josh Turner and Reina a few months ago and it was fantastic. Now the video with the whole band, just as fantastic. I downloaded the lyrics and will sing the song at the next barbecue party around the campfire. However, I had to change the key because of my singing.
OMG, you two are good. Starting with a few sweet bars from Toni's guitar, then Reina starts singing. It doesn't get any sweeter than this. May you always make music.

I appreciate all the work and exhaustion that goes into the life of a performer, especially when they travel. I have spoken with musicians who have told me, "I just want to sleep on someone's couch and eat a home-cooked meal." For the fan, it's a couple hours for a show. And people hesitate at spending $20 for a CD, but we'll drop $40 for over-priced beer in a heartbeat. Thank you for all that you do to bring us your music.
