Happy Sunday morning! It was such a blast going into Mad Muse Studios to record these songs as a trio. "Medium" is a little tune I wrote a long time ago that Toni transformed into the bluegrassy number it is today. If you liked this song, we're going to be playing a Bluegrass Brunch livestream concert at the end of the month. Grab your spot and join us for some mimosas/bloody marys and bluegrass jams! www.crowdcast.io/e/bluegrass-...
The session was mixed and mastered by Matt Salazar at Mad Muse Studios. Every precaution was taken to ensure the safety of both musicians and staff during the filming of these two performances.
We have rescheduled most of our 2020 concerts. Take a look at the dates and see if we're coming to your town later this year or early next year! reinadelcid.com/#shows

Lyrics to "Medium":
I caught Winter talking to Spring today
he begged her to remember his face
and how the sun couldn't touch him
where the ice used to lay
and with her warm eyes, Spring looked away
Now miles away from the buildings and lights,
I lie by your side in the dark
while the wheat and the rye
tell us how we used to be
before the trees put their leaves in my heart
Chorus:
This isn't me, I say to the street
to the people I never loved
This isn't mine, this beautiful line
that's crashing through my medium
I used to stare at an orchard at dawn
wondering what my eyes should see
but the earth promised seasons
and brought them in time
to the girl who used to be
Chorus
It's hard sometimes to see the difference
between what's lost and what you've changed
but the colors are brighter now
and the moonlight's softer on my range
Chorus - Hudba

Awesome! Wow! Nice picking, Toni!
Now, I would love to see you play a few with Billy Strings! I think that would be a great video.
Awesome performance (have you ever seen them do a poor performance? 😝). Great picking by Toni!
27th of Feb. I'll put it on my calendar, Good job guys.
I hope joint February 27 🌹
I like Reina and Toni🍀🥂
Look forward to it.💚🌍💚
These girls are a national treasure
Or, international treasure
@@kenregier Definitely a world class duo and just brilliant
agreed! :)
Especially the girl in the background with the upright bass. 😉
Absolutely Agree they're AWSOME!
I just love Toni. So soft as she runs through that fret board
Toni's playing is outstanding in this one
Great job, not an easy song
My thoughts exactly. Tony ftw!
Jesus Christ loves you so much and He will save us from our sins if we put our faith and trust in Him! because we all sinned and fell short of Gods perfect glory (romans 3:23) and the wages of sin is eternal death! (romans 6:23) but the gift of God is this
john 3:16-21
"for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. this is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposes. but whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God."
and romans 10:9-13
"if you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. for it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. as scripture says, "anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame. "for there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
so God is coming at a time we least expect, and if we put our faith and trust in Him He will gift us His grace and clothe us with the righteousness of His blood (but of course death could not hold Him, He is risen!) and we will have eternal life in His kingdom where there will be there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying. there will be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. because He loves you so much! (romans 5:6-8) but if we deny and reject Him and don't repent from our sins to follow God, then we will have our part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. because no liar, no thief, no blasphemer (using Gods name in vain as a cuss word to express anger or disgust) and no adulterer (Jesus Christ says in matthew 5 that anyone who just looks at someone to lust for they’re an adultery at heart) will enter the kingdom of heaven. so hear these words, repent and believe the gospel! accept Jesus Christ and confess your sins to Him so that He will forgive you and give you a life with truth and real love and joy and peace that this world can never give you or fulfill in you you! and the love and joy and peace that He will give you will never fade away or perish. this is all if you haven't done this yet and Jesus Christ hasn't saved you yet, also when you have time please you should watch this channel here on youtube called "Christ forgiveness ministries" and hear what they have to say, glory to God. God bless you! 🙌👑💟
Amazing
You can tell she has some real flat picking roots. This is their wheelhouse.
Paul Krugman has great taste in music! Learned about you from him tonight when Ari Melber on MSNBC asked him what the last show he attended was: back in Nov 2019, Reina del Cid in New York City "They're a Cali-based duo."
I'm your new fan, along with Dr. Krugman.
These girls are superstars - why are they not famous??
I don't know who enjoyed this more me or the bass player. The smile on his face as Toni was doing the runs picking lead said it all. Loved the song, every part of it.
Toni killed it! 💀
They both did
I play guitar myself and have been looking around on CZcams.
I discovered you by chance (CZcams algorithm) and am completely thrilled.
Really great guitar playing + great bass player + great vocals + great Grove = great version "Medium".
Greetings from Germany
It's overlooked how good a guitar player Reina is.
True, her percussive intro is pretty cool on this too.
Toni's fingers on fire again.😊
A real ray of sunshine on a snowy New England day.
Where in New England? Beautiful snow in Cambridge today!
About to get snow in good ole England tonight and Monday. Its always great to catch up with Reina and Tony on Sunday afternoons over here. Excellent as always.
Lovely snow over here in Newton!
its really coming down in portland maine
Winchendon here has new snow on top of old but we're warm and enjoying our Sunday Reina. Yeehaa!
Reina, you and Toni catch lightning in a bottle over and over again!
Seems like Toni has been to the crossroads
LOL, I had to think about that for a few seconds.
😁
And she showed the devil what guitar playing is all about...
Down to the crossroads!
Toni is one hell of a good guitar player.
Absolutely incredible picking & singing!!
Yep, I think Toni has been to the crossroads. But she told the devil "I don't need your deal punk". Her finger work does it's own magic!
Kudos to the engineer. The sound quality is excellent.
Toni's blue grass influence finally got to Reina.
If your feet aren't tapping , your heart singing and your face smiling at this ...then I'm afraid you have no soul. Absolute gem of a song. Thanks guys
Every time I watch this I am gobsmacked at the talent of this group. Just amazing!
Toni is a beast.
It's all about the brunch!!!!!! u girls rock!
A super folk rock for this week... Nice!! From France.
So so so so good.
So many smiles on so many faces.
When I was in law school, I was the editor of Law Notes. One time there was this short guy who was on campus contending he could read people's palms and see their future. What he was really doing was picking people's pockets. He was caught, but he was able to get away and fad into the campus crowd. I wrote an article on this story ---- the title - "Small Medium at Large." The title of your song reminded me of that article.
Better and Better every year!
Voices of velvet, musical excellence.
You have to love the look of concentration on Reina's face in the beginning, and Toni just stands back "a picking and a grinning".
Thank you ladies for y9our time and effort
Your voices have grown.
Everybody’s playing was incredible.
If its Sunday means a wonderful video to look forward to. Thanks you made our day, week and year.
Bluegrass vom Allerfeinsten.Toni Du bist der Wahnsinn und Reina dank Dir für diesen tollen Song. Mädels, Ihr seid wunderbar 😀😀👏👏
Wow. Just wow. Awesome.
Awesome, fingers on fire there Toni Phew wee !!!!! what with sweet vocals by Reina, it just don't get any better than that. Much Love.
I think you both are awesome! I am a fast picker on my Martin D28 and I taught my dad how to pick back in the 80s but, I have never learned bar cords and I cannot change to cords as fast as Toni. I have been playing since I was 5 and I am 57 now. I have ET fingers with very bad carpal tunnel right now from accounting. Your blouse is a great color for your complexion and hair Reina. I always enjoy you all. --Rebekah in Arlington, VA
Unbelievable. Absolutely stunning. As always.
Hi from England. One word, Great.
...u gals are fantastico - Toni's lead (as usual) kicks axe - bravo!!!
TonI no cross roads for you !
But inspiration from heaven!!!
Toni, I love your flat picking! Nice playing all of you.
Bluegrass? You two never cease to amaze. Well done.
André is a terrific bass player. Reina and Toni are BEAUTIFUL. This version is great
Oh THANK GOD for something uplifting, perky, toe-tapping in this crazy, upside-down world of Covid-19 & politics....God bless YOU Both!!!!!, it's just what I needed most right now to save my sanity. Amen.
Best ever, will join you on Feb 27.
Every week, you get better and better Toni shines (as always)
This song is so perfect
You just keep getting better and more addicting.
Thanks Toni, Andrew, and Reina a nice pick me up song on a slow Sunday morning
Following you guys for many years from Montréal Qc. OMG... This performance is amazing! Congrats!
Wow 😳 my new favorite song!!!!
It's so awesome! 💜
This song airs here since a few days a couple of times a day, everyday.
The lyrics by Elle aka Reina are so much romantic, deep, smart and her song is so well written.
It looks also typically like Toni to transform this beautiful piece of a true gem to this form.
This performance also kicks a€$ like nothing good! Andrew is so much into his bass, it's pure joy to see him playing everytime we see him. What a bada€$ on the heavy 4 strings he is! What a passion for this song.
Also, I like the way Elle shouts out for the first solo of Toni, which in my german ears sounds like "Jawoll, jetzt kommt's!" instead of "All right Toni".
And it makes sense in both ways. ^_^
What a masterpiece!
Toni makes me wanna grab my guitar, Andrew shows me the damn good passion one can have, and Elle - hats off to your beautiful creativity, you've created such a gem of a song!
Listening to the first chorus, I often have tears in my eyes, because it's so beautiful. The line "to the people I never loved" and Toni guides this with her licks, whilst Andrew is kicking from behind.
I usually don't listen to Bluegrass or things like this. But this is killer as fuck!
And not only this. You got me addicted to your stuff. And I love it! :'D
Can’t wait until you guys are able to start touring again.
WHOA as in WHOA.....You go girls !! 👍😎🎸
I really enjoy Reina's unique vocals and Toni's smokin' pickin'
That's a classic barn burner! Wicked playing guys!
What a great bluegrass song!
Holy .....Toledo, what a song, what an arrangement 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Toni is outstanding!
omg, it is simply just not possible to sit still during this song! ya'll are awesome!! :)
RDC vocals are perfect and Toni should definitely harmonize more often.
encore une fois excellent
Loved it! Has a Nanci Griffith Americana vibe!
Fabulous, these girls are so talented.
So fast and such a joy to watch and listen to
This video is the best thing about 2021 so far! Thanks
I don't know what to say. I have followed these musicians for about a year now. I'm in love with these musicians so deeply. The reason for that is because they play and sing so deeply find that this thing is so deep in their souls.
Last summer when I was repairing my old car..I listened to their music at the same time. A kind of miracle happened I got the car repaired on time and I didn’t get nervous the whole time;).
One day when Korona is gone I promise to come to see you on a tour of Europe;) Maybe already next year who knows :)
Greetings from Finland
Toni's guitar work always impresses.
Outstanding! I'll borrow a quote from Oh Brother Where Art Thou... "That was some mighty fine pickin' and a singin'...!"
Wow ... just wow ! 💗
Come on Toni. That’s not even human!
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Reina for another amazing song.
That’s a great pick me up. Found my foot tapping along. Thankyou!

Great guitar playing you all are awesome.
One of my favorite lead guitar parts by anyone in any genre. Love how her rhythmic and melodic mind works.
Fabulous!!!
So good.
Having played guitar for over 40years I can only marvel at the skills on display here. I’m also even more excited to see Reina del Cid and friends in the UK later this year, which sure is helping me get through lockdown 😀
Fantastic. Great picking Toni. That Martin is rocking.
As the pandemic ends...
and it surely will, this is the song I want to carry me through 2021 and beyond.
