- Today I tackle one of Yuu Asaka's notoriously difficult puzzles, a 4-piece brain teaser (Echo 4) that tests both patience and problem-solving skills. Renowned for creating puzzles that defy expectations and require innovative thinking, Yuu Asaka's designs often involve unique shapes and deceptive simplicity.

9:19 “he isn’t a stranger to weird diagonal solutions”
*proceeds not to do anything diagonal*
9:39 “What haven’t we tried yet?”
*proceeds not to do anything diagonal for 7 full minutes until he finds the diagonal solution by chance*
12:38 “see I told you he is no stranger to doing things diagonally!”
Yeah, that’s why I strongly believe that is “staged “ still doing the same combinations over and over flipping it on every side and corner
@@TyQAttytotally believe this one is staged and the sponsor of the video or something. There's no way he didn't know especially since she's literally done similar ones that were solved the same way
@@TyQAttyI'm actually kinda disappointed in him for this. It feels so disingenuous
It was rather comical to watch him repeat the same attempts over and over, especially after telling us the puzzle designer had a penchant for diagonal solutions. He realized the solution 2 minutes in, just like the rest of us, he just needed to film more for the content. The fake "Yes! Yes!" at the end as he pretended to suddenly figure it out JUST IN TIME to beat the clock was cringe. Like, tell us the puzzle is easy without telling us the puzzle is easy. Great puzzler, terrible actor LOL
5 mins in and I'm yelling "angles man angles!!!😂"
He needs content haha
I was yelling too, it was so obvious!
Diagonalllll
I'm 99% sure he knew solution at half ot the video or earlier. It was on purpose, so it looked cool to stop at last sec. Well... it didn't
Yuu Asaka's puzzles are some of my favorite to watch being solved. He's so clever with his puzzles.
Watch being solved, but not to do?
CHRIS : "If you're yelling at your screen right now..."
ME : "Omg, how did you KNOW?!" 😆😆😆
YEAH! Six minutes in and I was yelling "Put the white pieces in a diagonal configuration!!!" 😆
@@RicardoMorenoAlmeida Really?
Not me - I was screaming for Chris to heat up the frame in the microwave and try to stretch it bigger...😒
@@timsullivan4566 🤣🤣
DIAGONAL!! 😅
People that already know the solution ⬆
I was screaming "go diagonal" the whole time. But I'm kinda convinced that Chris new the solution fairly soon but waited till the end for dramatic purposes.
With bad acting on top
1:54 is the moment
His puzzles are always clever and look beautiful by the end. A lot of puzzles feel the need to be super elaborate and flashy, but it's much harder to create elegant solutions out of something so simple.
it's these type of videos that hooked me to your channel a few years back. Love the old school "simpler" puzzle solving videos.
So many times this - I started losing interest in the channel when he began doing the "$20,000 one-of-a-kind puzzle!" stuff. I just want to see someone having fun solving a puzzle I could actually own one day.
Figured it must go diagonally probably 5-10 minutes into your timer but couldn’t figure out exactly how just from sight. So interesting to see just how many other close options there are. This guys brain is incredible, being able to have just one solution in his puzzles!!!
before I clicked on the video, I knew it had to sit at an angle in a symmetric pattern. About 5 mins in, I noticed that white had the diagonal edge and knew they were going to press up against each other. Nice puzzle guys. I may have to buy this one.
At 2:42 I knew the answer, he just had to flip them around...
Chris, I love watching you solve small puzzles like these much more than the massive elaborate ones! Keep it up!
Bro...literally @2:47 you figured it out and i was screaming right then... "Just do that Diagonally!" 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
from the get go I was internally screaming "TRY THE DIAGONAL" then I thought you got it when you said "he's done some weird solves with diagonals" and then proceeded to completely ignore your own advice. you're right. it's frustrating. it's also frustrating watching you ignore your own advice and repeat the same steps over and over again.
congrats on the solve though and happy new year :)
I think this is one of the first puzzles where you were about 4 min in that I was straight up doing the silent rage (you know, head bob and large arm movements)...to say to put the two white ones angle to angle. lol. Fun puzzle. Always enjoy your vids.
I always love watching you solve a seemingly simple puzzle. I also always love your background music.
I would never have the patience to solve these puzzles. And, yet, I always have the patience to watch Chris solve them.
the reason why people watch these is that he makes them seem difficult. a 5 year old would have solved this in less than 2 minutes or less. he cant go making 1 minute videos, now can he?
Most of his videos are 15-20 minutes long and involve much more difficult, complicated puzzles. So, I don’t understand your comment. @@joshjones718
@@joshjones718 that's a lot of shit you're talking, have you solved a single puzzle yourself?
Its called editing
I"m the exact opposite, would have plenty of patience doing it myself, but watching him literally say the solution out loud and then take 10 more minutes to actually DO the solution he talked about - I've no patience for that lol
I love these mind games. My first introduction to them was the "Old Shackles/Polish Handcuffs" with 2 horseshoes, chain links welded to the ends and a ring that was taken off. I was about 12 at the time when dad brought them home. Dad is gone now but I have that puzzle yet as well as 75-100 more of all types. Some days i just have to set down and play with them to sharpen my focus.
My favourite type of video: simple, cheap, makes me think along and the solution is beautiful.
Thanks for this awesome video. Bring more of this kind of puzzle. I truly love how a 4piece puzzle can be so challange...
It has been a while since I've watched your videos, good to be back. It always calms me to watch you solve puzzles, idk, your narration and calmness is just nice to experience. Keep it up man
Hope to see you do more Yuu Asaka puzzles. They're my favorites.
"we need to make sure we keep in mind that the solution could be diagonal".... then waits until the last minute to try anything diagonal haha
So satisfying to watch you working on a puzzle like this. The big complex puzzle boxes are fun too, but these simple acrylic puzzles are great.
It's always good to see you having a good time Chris! cheers!
Simple, yet complex. Interesting puzzle!
Super satisfying to see you get it right at the end!
Nice first video of the year. I like how optimistically you believe at the beginning that you can beat the suggested resolution time, and I like more how you beat it at the end of the video. Good work!
Thank God you're back and Happy New Year I just got done watching the Miss Roy mystery the final chapter it was pretty good keep up with the puzzles you keep my day going on and on with this expense and mystery
This is the stuff i subscribed for, i absolutely love this type of puzzles!
You, sir, do great work! Your determination, creativity, tenacity and general loveliness shine through.
Hope all is well brother, so glad to see you channel go from what it’s a was years ago when I first started following you to what it is now. Much love brother!
Was literally holding my breath at the end lmao! Fun and ty. 💯
I was thinking from the very moment you opened it, 'OH, this puzzle is going to be at a strange angle.' I'm happy to see I was actually right about that lol.
Quickest click when saw missed videos lol was binging the older ones this week ❤
I love this puzzle! More of Yuu’s puzzles!!
It's been a while since I've come back to this channel and when I do, I actually guessed the solution before the end! I was never really able to do that before. I have returned. Older. Wiser... Ok not really, but it is really nice and relaxing watching you solve puzzles again!
Let's go! Love Yuu's puzzles, great start to the year!
a buzzer beater! i always appreciate smaller puzzles like these :D
Love it that it's not your normal puzzle! But I love it when you solve puzzles that you take a part and have to put back together!!
Always relaxing watching your puzzle videos yet make me feel anxious at the same time lol the move u did top left corner before you said I know your yelling at the screen right now lol in my head I was laughing my 🍑 off 😂😂 good job man
Always love watching your channel helps me focus and get calm with a coffee
I saw what you did there, can we call that sleight of hand or clock? It is ok with us if you do not make the clock but why cheese it? Love the videos though.
Always enjoy your puzzle episodes
17 seconds is wild!!! That was awesome, dude
Thx 🙏
Perfect start of my day!!
👍
Very cool! Love watching you solve puzzles.
Woohoo! Always look forward to your videos! 🙌🏼
Glad to see you back. Really miss you solving puzzles.
The progression on this one was so satisfying to watch
🥳
I love this so much! I don't know if I'd ever have figured it out
Dude! I'm a genius. You had about 13 minutes on the clock when I wanted you to put them at an angle. The rest of the video I was thinking "I wonder how long it would take me to throw that thing at the wall". ❤
Love the small puzzles, it has gotten me to purchase some and share them with my son. Love the channel!
Nice to see you back Chris!
Talk about an eleventh hour miracle. I’m so glad you made it before the time ran out.
Oh gosh, I forgot how much I enjoy watching you. Here to watch some more~
Good to hear that you were able to get a little bit of a break, Chris. Happy new year!
Finally back to the content I originally subscribed for 🎉
I love that last second finish that was awesome to watch
It took me around same amount of time to solve it. I didn't time myself because I thought it would take me ages 😄I also noticed the pointy endings, but put them together across the wrong diagonal until I figured out that it probably goes the other way around. Great solve Chris!
Helping the algorithm lol, have a great day, these are my favorite types of puzzles from you
This is the exact content I come to this channel for !!!!
Definitely was yelling at the screen at the very end. Love the puzzles. Please never stop.
I legit applauded on this when you finally solved it!
Man the last 30 seconds, what a rush 🥵 so glad to see it complete, love your videos 🤗
Great job with this puzzle!!
finally an new puzzle vid......and with yuu asakas
Super excited about this one!!
I never yell at the screen I just watch you do your thing.
🎉🎉🎉 I always love the videos you post!!!
Awesome as always!
Glad you're back Chris, looking good mate
solution was unexpected - well made, and well done CR.
I was holding my breath once it hit like 1:00 left! 🤣😂
That was intense. 14 seconds remaining. Great job
I love those puzzles, for myslef or to watch, that are mind boggling, but also don't take too much time to solve...
Very satisfying. I love this puzzle.
Today I learned I'm an old school subscriber. Always loved Yuu's work !
Chris, I’ve been watching your videos for a long time, and I just wanted to thank you for the things, that you’re doing. You inspire me and everyone knows it and that’s why my girlfriend gifted me a wooden box puzzle for New Year. I’ve been wanting to solve something I’ve seen on your channel but we don’t have a lot of things in my country, so that present made me very happy. So, I just wanted to say thank you to you once again and wish you the best this year!!
I love the background music! This was a great solve
As soon as you put the two blue pieces in "S shape" in the first five minutes, I got all anxious waiting for you to try that shape diagonally. The answer wasn't too far from that.
Liked the countdown clock, what a finish!
I love watching you solve these puzzles. I would like to solve the big
You never fails to design a great puzzle !
Literally the second you noticed the 2 white pieces had the slanted edges that matched, I was screaming in my head for you to link them diagonally. I’m so happy that it turned out to be the solution lmao
I had no thoughts of yelling at the screen until the thought of placing them diagonally popped into my head.
I like Yuu Asaka's puzzles very much! They are difficult, creative and at the same time affordable while maintaining high production quality!
love these types of puzzles
Welcome back Chris!
Great video, Chris!
4:58
Chris: If you're yelling at your screen right now...
Me: DIAGONAL! DIAGONAL!
Edit: finished watching now. At 2:43 I thought I saw the solution, but I had blue and white swapped. When he noticed the angled ends fitting together at 6:42, that sold me on the real solution. Still, fun to watch, as always.
Chris, you rock!
The fact that you knew how to solve this within the first minute but waited
Yep
chris solving a jigsaw-style puzzle: “orientation is key” 🤣
the buzzer beater!! this is a nice one
Thank you for a lot of good magic and puzzles👍
12:25 I thought quite early about that kind of solution with the white parts arranged diagonally meeting at that edge, then the blues outside. It was less because of some reasoning why this should make a good fit, but more because it looks so aestetically pleasing and has a nice symmetry. Seeing the solution it is even nicer, like e.g. two corners of each blue part nicely aligning at the left and right edge. It's not just a puzzle, it's a piece of art.
Hi, Chris. This was a nice puzzle for your come back to after your time off. I liked it as you did it with 14 seconds to go.
I love these brain teaser kind of puzzles! 👍👍😁
Very satisfying solution. ❤
Welcome back, Happy New Year.
I do really enjoy the smaller, but difficult, puzzles like this that make you think outside the box.
Hot dang. What a clutch solve. Hats off my dude.
