Hotel room or Airbnb every now and then - life save when on the road. Even if it's just for a good soak in a bath tub.

Totally right after so many days on the road, we needed to spoil ourselves😊

Question for you! We are working on converting a 30ft school bus to live in full time. Do you think it would be plausible to drive that to Costa Rica like you guys did with your rig? Or would it be too dangerous/nowhere to park?

Hey Caleb, as the main roads you can definitely do it but most of the towns have small roads, it would be difficult for you to drive in. You would be forced to leave the bus at the entrance of town and walk to shops or sometimes beaches.
It really depends what your priorities are, we sold our 26ft bus after Baja cause we thought it was too big and switch to the Truck Camper cause we wanted to be able to go in towns and beach front

@@gypseasontheroad Would it be safe to park outside of those small towns you speak of? We plan on having a motorcycle to do things like this to make leaving the rig more practical :) Any advice you have is mad appreciated.

Yeah we felt safe pretty much everywhere! Your bus is too big for anyone to want to steal. Just add some hidey holes like a fake floor some where for your important stuff for peace of mind if youre gone for many hours. You can get apple air tags and a steering wheel immobilizer too if you want. In Costa Rica the roads are pretty horrid so you could only do the top half in the bus - but you could find somewhere safe to store it for a bit and take the motorcycle off and stay at hotels to mix it up too. Think: real bumpy narrow single lane dirt roads with low hanging branches and thats a lot of roads in costa rica lol. The drive down is totally safe thouigh and they use old schoolbusses as public transport busses all through central america so if those busses can get around then so can you! Maybw take it to Mexico first and see if you feel comfortable there and if you do then keep going south. Hope this helps!

So if you put some sand and plants and a little waterfall in your van it will make it easier? 😉
