  • This is a follow up to my quick review of the yxgood tree harness i bought off Amazon, showing it in use and a few small drops in it, not a bad saddle for minimal life support use, but I would'nt recommend it for high up use/tree work.

    Thanks for doing this review. More of those Chinese companies should send you their climbing products so you could make videos drop testing them with heavy weights. I'd support you on Patreon for that!

      Rene Lariviere I would agree, it’s great for your lower trees but up high I definitely recommend a better one, depends on your budget.

    When I look on Amazon the few bad reviews have mentioned the stitching around the bridge being questionable and they do not trust it. What is your opinion on that? I have a cheap Amazon harness (AmazeFan brand) that has a D ring instead of a bridge in the front and was thinking of returning it for this one if the bridge is more comfortable than the D ring since the D ring also sits lower than the bridge. What is your opinion on the stitching that supports the bridge?

    • @dqmc07
      @dqmc07  Před 3 lety +1

      I don’t use mine day in and day out so I don’t have any problem with the stitching, I always say go with your gut, if it don’t sit well then don’t use it, but it’s something you could clearly see if anything goes wrong with it, so with any life support gear, definitely inspect before every use, for 50.00 I think it’s a great deal, I added a second bridge to mine and if anyone wants to make sure nothing goes wrong then I would tie a rope around the waist of the belt so you know you will never take a fall.

    Hi guys, I have been an arborist for years and I got this harness to do side jobs, when I got it there were straps that passed at the wrong place and made the d-rings squeeze my side, I checked on many sites to find the right way to place them, now it feels like I have nothing on when I climb and I also added the upper harness and cari tools to hold my saw and pruner, I noticed in the video that the straps are placed even worse than mine was.

      I looked for the yxgood model that you have and watched closely to your video and you can clearly see the straps on your side d-rings are not well placed, if you cannot place them yourself it is a factory defect, i took a nice screenshot of it to show you but can’t seem to ad it in the comments

    Cool. It's very obvious they don't have experience with safety or harness design. And the top straps on the secondary bridge supports have been reported to be plastic. Yah for short low work maybe but not a serious saddle.

      @dqmc07  Před 2 lety

      I would agree, saving some money isn't worth your life and I'll use it as a back up if needed but I'll always have a professional saddle on hand, my go to is the monkey beaver saddle, my favorite so far. Take care and stay safe.

    Good evening sir, I've watched both of your videos on this harness and I'm wondering if the bridge is one complete loop that is sewn flat or are there two separate loops at each end where they connect to the rings? Thanks for sharing your experience and opinion on this product. Stay safe and God bless you as well.

      No worries about timing. If there are two separate loops, does that in your opinion/experience lessen the quality and or safety of the bridge? I'm looking for a harness to use for hunting from a tree and will be using the DRT(w/a simple Blake's hitch) method to get into a tree. This is a new style of hunting for me and I'm just trying to iron out the wrinkles before committing to a more expensive rig. Thanks again.

      Thanks for taking the time to respond again, it shows great character. Thank you for the video on the bridge. It looks like it is one continues piece of webbing that is threaded back and forth between the rings and then stitched flat across the middle. Then finished with multiple stitches at each ring. In any case I'm 6'2" and about 195lbs so I don't see any reason why it wouldn't do what I intend to do with it. My plan is only to use it for hunting. Maybe an occasional tree trim at the house. I'm as green as can be to climbing with a rope and harness so I'll be practicing out back. If you are/were a professional canopy dweller, my hats off to ya. I'm amazed at the footage of professionals I see on CZcams. Stay safe, thanks again and may God bless you and yours.

      Brandon Butela Thank you and your welcome, that’s correct, the bridge is one piece but sewed and terminated on each end and the one end by being sewed, after wrapping around it, It’s not as comfortable of course as my monkey saddle but if your not hanging in it for hours it would work great for your size I think, please message me if I can assist you , there are countless vids on yt to get started climbing but I’ll be happy to respond to any questions, God bless you and yours.

      Cause it holds my big arse, and yes I would, alot sturdier than rock climbing harnesses, but just not as comfortable as your more expensive harness like my monkey beaver.
