    I've had mine for a few weeks now, I think. I absolutely love it and if the firmware updates they did for the first one is any indication, this thing will only get better over time too.

  • @RexxReviews

    I LOVE mine so far. The first week out people were freaking out because of issues and threating to, and or actually returning it. RODE has already addressed MANY of the issues most of them were having with the new 1.0.5 beta firmware. I had the Podmic initially but ended up swapping to the Audio Technica AT2040 as the sound was MUCH fuller with that mic. I can't wait to see what settings you use for singing vocals. Thanks for the video!

    I'm relieved for Røde after some initial negative reactions, they were quick to get the fixes out.. Their support in my experience is market leading. I tried getting a response from the Dbx folk about my prob with the 286s, joke, nothing. Be good to see you use it in a simulacrum of a podcast situation with guests etc, showing how it functions in vivo and explaining the routing and mix minus etc. I must say it's very trippy with all the lovely coloured leds! Looking forward to your take on their ribbon and valve mics.

    My Shure SM7B didn't work and I returned the microphone to BestBuy. The end microphone worked like a charm.
    My unit updated to firmware 1.03 after I returned my first Shure so I can't confirm that the firmware was the problem.
    But, I'm super happy to have this unit and to step up my content creation.

    It's a nice mixer and for the Pro II, it's an amazing machine. As a radio broadcaster it's still not a thing i am very fond of but as you said, near perfect. For the station i work, we are working with a Tricaster video switcher. In order to have some good audio controls, you need a separate mixer and i choose the Pro II for that. It sounds wierd but it has the microphone processing, it has audio effects and soundpads and you can hook it up to the new Tricasters, or so they said. I am still working on setting everything up but i think it will work and the best part, i only need 2 USB cables to hook it up to the switcher! So my expectations are big and yes for anyone who want to buy this and still in doubt, stop it and buy that thing! You wont regret it.

  • @Coxtoasten12
    @Coxtoasten12 Před 2 lety +1

    I have emailed Rode, but maybe you know how to keep the sound effects saved on the board. I'm not sure how to keep them from being wiped out each time I shut off the RCP2. Maybe it is because I just record into a DAW, and at this time I don't save on external drive or micro card. I save segments on a PC drive from my DAW. I picked an icon for the show, but it doesn't show up now after I turned on the mixer. I would put my sounds back on the pads if I was sure they showed up each time I turned on the mixer.

  • @limitedhangoutlive

    Wish faders dynamically adjusted with MiDi changes or digital changes, the bitrate is also low for referencing. Would be nice if you could use it as just a mixer in conjunction with a better audio interface.

      @@yinYangMountain I prefer mk1 build for the top plate as it is screwed down and is th complete top section, not a pressed inlay. Still I would guess we are a very small minority and the replacement will serve you well for years hopefully.

    • @yinYangMountain
      @yinYangMountain Před 2 lety

      @@MyTerryw Update: This, in my opinion, should no longer be labeled a ‘lemon’ problem-as I’m seeing this growing issue being reported more and more in various locations including: Reddit, CZcams videos; CZcams comment sections.
      And even if we are not hearing about it, it doesn’t follow it’s not chronic.
      If this is a manufacturing defect, and having to do with glue and/or heat, I’m expecting more units to be affected over time. Thus, until these issues are addressed, it is way too premature to recommend the RCP II.

    I'm a mic-amp snob and I heard the slight buzz with the sm7b. also the E.I.N converted to from "dbV" to "dbu" is -129.2dbu. I'm certain that is with the input shorted and not with a 150ohm load, also it's an "A-Weighted" figure so that -129.2dbu is probably ~3db worse up to probably -127dbu E.I.N unweighted so imo the mic amps arnt that great. using the same standard of "dbV" measurement, a Cranborne Camden EC2 mic amp would be rated at E.I.N of -137.72dbV. why do audio equipment manufactures do this crap to us

    The whole ASIO issue is actually worse: the spec says, we will have 2-in + 16ch multitrack out. I don't use a DAW, but I use OBS with the OBS-ASIO plugin and the official Rødecaster 2 ASIO drivers. Once I start OBS, ASIO always works, but either my "Main" or my "Chat" interface dies in both directions and it's never the same (also Windows 10 here). So what I get is 1-in, 1+16 out. I did report that to Røde last week, so they are aware. I also have issues with Multitrack recording loosing whole chunks of the recording to microSD (class 10 microSD card) and it does that across all channels. Again, I did do report that, but I'm still going to try with a faster microSD card and see, if the microSD just isn't fast enough, because I don't see the issues in my multitrack audio from OBS.
