The next thing they need to make is a Rodecaster pro mini.
Like a two input version which is pocket sized, maybe four pads. Like a field recoder thingy? H6 H8 etc. Competition
I simply dont get it why we need big a** pads and all that large pots. MAKE IT SMALLER
Then Rodcaster pro Max, with 8 or 12 xlr inputs
1 xlr input, no instruments and optimised for game streaming. That would make for an insanely popular product in the sector.
@@swschilke They need something that can blow the podtrak 4 out the water.
It's an Amazing Product just a Completed Studio in one simple Board. Love It!!!
excellent new version! great job to the entire team! 👏😎
Wowzers! This solves all the issues I have had with my beloved Rodecaster Pro trying to mix in my Roland keyboard.
Whee! I can hardly wait to add this to my admittedly RODE heavy studio setup. Accessories, too! I'm a kid in a candy store again!
Thank you so much for answering all my wish list items!
Stop making me spend more money RODE! 😂
I want this more than I initially thought... It's just perfect!
Amazing work Julian! You guys have done it again!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
I’ve had the Pro and love it! I just got my Pro 2 and look forward to using this for my podcasts!
Finally the update is here. I got me a Tascam Mixcast4 because of some very minor advantages over the RCP, but now all that is gone, I'll be getting the II immediately. So many great features, the one killing option is linking inputs into a stereo "one fader" operation. This is ideal for my matched pair of Oktava MK-012 condensers used in front of an acoustic guitar while livestreaming. The vocals are handled by Røde VideoMic NTG, I think I'll be set. Congrats on the release and good luck!
This is literally everything I have been waiting for
Congratulation! That sounds amazing! We are using the Series 1 in our studios - and it works brilliant! Now we are very excited to make the switch to the new Pro II. We'll keep the PRO I as a spare desk just in case.. or for tough outfield recordings :-)
This looks amazing! The dual USB alone might be enough of an upgrade to replace my GoXLR for dual PC recording ad streaming😱
I wouldn't, you'll loose your virtual audio cables, where the goxlr has 8 virtual cables that will dows cam see, I've just bought the rodecaster pro 2 realised this and had to return and return to the goxlr
@@brekirm this aged a little poorly given Helicon fired the entire team that handled all software & drivers for the GoXLR, basically killing it. Also, you can use virtual audio cables through a different software solution quite easily if that’s what your after, although I’m pretty sure Rode has said something like this is in the pipeline
@Montagic yea I've since gone with the rodecaster pro 2 now and love it
@@brekirm nice! It honestly seems to be the best option given the Helicon news. I tried to use the Apollo Twin in my setup, but thunderbolt support for Windows is in a god awful state right now, and this seems to be amazing in every area I could ask for. The dual connectivity is probably what I’m most excited about for my WFH setup. Mine comes tomorrow 😁
@Montagic enjoy, it can be a bit confusing at first but I've had it for 2 months now and I'm enjoying it, just wish they had vitual cables for simplicity, but other than that I'm enjoying it
I don’t have a complaint about anything I heard! I cannot wait to purchase one of these excellent devices! This thing is simply amazing.
The Dual USB-C is so clutch for dual PC streaming! I've been debating getting the Rode Caster Pro so I can have multiple mics but wasn't sure how I'd connect my two pc's. This just made my choice so much simpler. Love my go xlr but this is clutch
Looks neat! I’d love to get my hands on one of these boys.
One word RODE Team ... WOW !!!
This looks incredible, can't wait to get my hands on one
Quick Question, are we able to use a fader for a program such as Spotify or Chrome/Browser audio for our live streams? This is something the Wave 3 and other products simplified.
The USB 1 input comes with a discrete virtual channel for chat applications, on Windows OS this can be used to assign specific programs such as Spotify or Discord etc.
@@rodemic Really Thought of everything you guys are a beauty!
Or just use Voicemeeter.
@@rodemic will this be a feature for the original RODECaster pro in near future aswell?
Keep in mind that use of Spotify according to the general agreements, is not allowed for public performance. Officially it's not even allowed for use in radio broadcasts but on the other hand, they pay licence fees most of the times.
Yes! A mount! This is the whole reason I didn't buy the original Rodecaster! I'm buying this! Plus, this update is the closest thing I have seen compared to the radio station's mixing board! This is SUPER powerful for the price! I'll be pre-ordering!!
Oh! My God! You did it again!
Got mine today. Already testing the vocals out for the launch of a podcast. Cheers Rode!
Big fan on the first one, might get this one
I hope they make a mini version because I would prefer that.
Thanks for the feedback!
@@rodemic Yes please! A Mini Version would be awesome!
SHEESH 🔥 This is Amazing!
Sooo hype! I cannot wait to get my hands on this 😍
I’m about to buy this since I’m starting my own internet radio station. Can’t wait.
Glad I waited for this
I liked the first one SO MUCH, I had to buy two of them!! lol (literally JUST bc I liked the product THAT much!) Now with this one, and all of it's new capabilities, features, and awesomeness, I'll have to be buying this one as well. Just because it is such a cool piece of gear.
Already preordered mini within 30 seconds when you uploaded the announcement of the RCP2. 🙂
Always love it Rode New tech
One thing that would be very interesting if there would be more advanced routing features to come maybe with later firmware updates. I see in the video that you already have a discrete channel for voice chat etc. but maybe this could be also be made extendable so that i could split up audio sources on the pc and have for example Spotify, Voice Chat, PC Sound and also Game Sounds on different lines.
You can do this already AFAIK.
Just ordered mine. I hope I get it soon.
Looks great! You should make a sidekick console to add 2 more mics. Sometimes I have 6 people on my podcast. It would be a great addition.
Congratulations RØDE
Looks great 👍
While this is definitely a great upgrade....I still really like the design of the first Rodecaster.
Finally, a powerful replacement for the GoXLR!. Looking forward to test it!. cheers!
Hoping for the ability to set and save “scenes” like on the QSC Touchmix for when I need to switch from music mode to podcasting to streaming. This would end the competition. Maybe in an update? Love your products! Congrats! 🎉
Im looking to replace my TouchMix for podcasting... Im STILL having Power supply issues.
Looks nice, if it works well with windows, so I can record multitrack and hit play to hear without changing settings that would be great. Also auto ducking better along with a hard limiter on output would be enough for me to take the plunge. Wonder whether you would be able to have an add on unit for additional faders to extend the console?
Looks great!
One thing I can't find out, and would be a make-or-break feature.
For streaming, when connecting game audio to one channel and the chat audio in another channel, currently on the Rodecaster Pro there is no way to mix-minus the game audio from the people connected on the chat audio channel.
Is there going to be more advance mix-minus features in the Rodecaster Pro II that would allow me to choose what outputs are being sent down each channel, so that the people on the other ends of the chat channel only hear Mic 1 and not the Game audio?
My question is about monitoring. I swapped from a GoXLR to the Wave semi recently as the Wave allowed me to turn DOWN the music I hear but leave it on for the stream output. I don't want to turn the music completely off but in my experience, if I get everything right the music is too loud for me when it's perfect for stream. Too many headaches ... or no audible music. With Wave I have this set like 30% apart and it works like a dream. I'll get one of the first RCP2s if I can change the monitoring levels and I'll probably stick with the Wave for now if I can't.
Can’t wait!
wow this looks amazing
BEAST MODE!!!
Mine will be here tomorrow!
Rode is doing a good job innovating. I like these products for that reason. Like Apple products, Rode team is doing a good job from concept to product.
Is there no master audio monitor on the front line version 1 had? Does it have the master monitor at all, or was the completely removed?
This is amazing!
Was looking got something similar, looks like it's here 😋🤩
Does headphone monitoring include the processing effects such as compressor and noise gate or is headphone monitoring pre-processing only? Is there any headphone delay with the processing on?
Yes, you will hear the processing FX if you have them switched on and you won't hear a delay through the headphones while recording 😊
Hello and congrats for this Rodecaster Pro II ! Can you tell me if the two USB inputs can be plugged to the same computer ? In the video you tell that we can plug two devices, but can i connect the two usb ports to the same computer to have two virtual outputs on the computer, and so play on two differents faders on the rodecaster Pro II from my computer ? Many thanks.
This was my question too! As im a broadcaster this would make it so much easier to mix the audio from the playout software when recording!
wow! wish list! keep it up Rode.... 🤩😍
I just want the reverb fx on the old one. But boy this looks good.
did you know that apple now makes audio gear? it's a company named RODE. Perfect device!
I gotta say im very impressed with this i own the original and i love it but the pre amps in the 2 has me sold
I have it now. I love my rode caster but this is insane. I know batman feels when he first got his utility belt.
I'll buy one when you release the Adam Curry Podcast Founders Edition

Omg you guys never stop 😂😂
Definitely not a bad thing lol
amazing.i need this.
is the faders and rotary knobs can be used as midi fader also?
Hi, I pre-ordered mine! Do the virtual faders only come from USB input 1, or does USB input 2 also provide virtual faders? Also will at some point RODE add sub-mixes? Sub-mixes are a must have to be able to compete with the other streaming devices.
You can allocate both inputs from USB 1 and 2 to the virtual faders and we're definitely looking at sub-mixes as a possibility for a future firmware update.
Using two Rodecaster Pro and super happy with them, I'm really looking forward to test the version II, congrats guys
So far I've heard no mention of an optical input. Does it have this so I can easily hook up my PS4 Pro and XBox One like I can with my GoXLR? Did you really think of everything?
What about submixes? The one thing my GoXLR should have added long ago.
Looks like I may be purchasing this one and selling my original RCP. I love the sounds of not needing to have a Cloudlifter or a Fethead of some sort to make the audio much better. I think that's the only gripe I had on the RCP and that was having to keep the mixer turned almost all the way up to make any sort of difference in the sound and it gave a slight white noise type sound when you go to high.
You will no longer have that gripe with the Revolution Preamps™ of the RØDECaster Pro II 😊
Will it allow audio feedback on phone calls. Allowing audio played thru both ends and heard on both ends.
I've been podcasting for 2 years and I'm torn between this and the Portacapture X8, primarily because it has 32 bit floating point. Would this possible to add in a Rodecaster software update?
Dual PC. Rodecaster plugged into a stream PC. can I here the Mic monitoring on the other PC without latency??? I'll buy it right now if there is a way to do that.
If RodeCaster Pro 2 able to expand into connecting to usb mics and mix it just like mics connecting via combo jacks would be awesome 👏!!!
It’s definitely something we’re looking at in future firmware updates 😊
How will I be able to connect my microphones in the back with my tripod connector that I use in RodeCaster 1? Thanks for answering.
great job!!!
Will there be a RCP2 extreme with 8 microphone inputs?
Did you mention the RJ45 and what it's for?
Amazing this is amazing
Looks phenomenal. I don’t suppose you can add a 5th XLR input with a firmware update? Tired of work arounds. (So close to perfect)
Hope this is a joke 😂
So if we put it on the Computer have we more Source Lins on the Computer we on the goxlr System / VOice / Mic etc ? or is all in one line ?
Love my Rodecaster pro and I just placed my pre order for the pro ll ! VERY excited, thank you!
Good job Julian
Lovely.
Is there any way to link or connect the original Rodecaster to Rodecaster II? More physical faders is always better for radio streaming... Any suggestions?
Can we get a mobile weather resistant version , smaller less features for us mobile creatives. Bluetooth to headphones wireless go system and cameras would be great. Maybe in a 7 " form factor we can hot shoe on top of camera ? cheers. looks great keep those great ideas coming.
Wooooooooow!!!!!!
are you able to connect the Rode Wireless Go 2 receiver to one of the USB C ports so that you can utilise the 2 microphones as additional inputs on the RodeCaster Pro 2?
Not via the USB-C ports at this stage, though this is something we're considering implementing for future firmware updates! In the meantime, you can connect your Wireless GO II via the 3.5mm TRS connection and VXLR pro adaptors.
@@rodemic that sounds amazing - stretching the “friendship” a little, usb c hub and multiple wireless go 2’s? USB power and this plugged into my BMD Atem Pro ISO would make a fantastic interview setup as I could then run a headphone out into one of the mic inputs on the BMD Atem. Loving the Aussie ingenuity. Keep it up!!!
Please continue support for RCP 1, stabilize the Firmware too
I literally received yesterday the first RODECaster Pro... and they literally announced the second one the same day
Is it good for using livestreaming for a musician like me ?
For my radio production application I need to use 2 mics and 3 faders for sounds from my computer. 1 For monitoring sounds from the computer while producing (in mix-minus), and 2 faders for sounds from players on my computer. Now I use a classic mixer with a sound card with multiple outputs. How can I do with this nex caster pro. My sound card on 2 line inputs, 1 virtual sound card by USB, but for the last one... In clear Can I use the 2 USB of the caster pro to create 2 virtual sound cards from the computer ?
This is crazyyyyyy! OMG!!
Finally optimized for the beloved Shure SM7B. Love it!
Can I use the pads as the midi drum pads in a DAW. I know it can be mapped as midi commands, but can it be mapped as drum pads as many other regular midi controllers do?
AWESOME 🤩🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤩
I got the rode caster pro now i have to get this one
as a radio talent voicetracker - will this kit serve me? I need to stream from the mixer whilst monitoring a foldback channel - this channel needs to be audible in the headphones but NOT rebroadcast. A bit like a prefade button where you can hear a channel as part of the mix but not have that actual channel included in the final output.. will this unit work that way?
Impressive :)
Brilliant
I really need to buy one
Will you eventually be able to use with Rode Wireless Go II or the Rode NTB usb mic?
Maybe 😏
They are great for use of radio station
This is an amazing update.
Whilst this is brilliant for podcasting and all sorts I would like to see something like a Rodecaster Pro Max for radio broadcasting. Obviously you can do this with the existing Rodecaster Pro but radios typically have other sources such as turntables and CD players.
If you made a 10 fader version of this with 4 stereo phono inputs aswell it would be perfect.
In addition it would be awesome if the usb supported more than 2 in. Radio software allows you to send jingles to one channel, pre fade to another, so 8 or 10 in would be brilliant.
There is very little catering for the radio broadcast market at the moment that comes even near the features of the Rodecaster Pro so a Max version with the features above would kill it for community radio, even some DJs too.
A lot of radio stations are automated these days, but I know there are some stations that have turntables. Where I work, we're running Wide Orbit, but still have inputs for CD players or external audio sources like laptops.
@@ShannonHernandez yes automation for the majority but the live presenters like to bring vinyl and cds to vary their shows
Looks great but a real shame that the stereo TRRS input has been omitted or not replaced by 2 extra physical input channels. Having to use half of the 4 available Neutrik inputs to connect a stereo line-in source drastically reduces functionality / mic options etc. The provision of an additional 2 physical channels or retention of a stereo TRRS would have avoided this.
Does the Rodecaster 2 have a clock in it now? To stablize sync to cameras?
Yes, it does!
Absolutely love the RCP1 and can't wait to get this one. We're also launching a new review channel called "That Review Guy" and would like to be part of the review team for the RCP2. How do we go about applying to be included in that group?
