As someone who grew up in Salt Lake City, skying injuries are legit. Safety first, people die up on those slopes every year.

That ski lift crash is a MASSIVE instant win lawsuit. The ski resort knew the mound was there and it leads directly into the path of a moving peril. 😢 No lawsuit for the last guy though. Just a bunch of free drinks from anyone who saw it happen.
Jumping through the gap between lifts is a deliberate stunt that some extreme skiers perform. This duffus is lucky nobody was in the chair or he would get sued.

A colleague had become skiing instructor at the germany military.
On his first course, the first day, BEFORE the course started, already someone broke two legs.
They just had put on their skies and were told to push over to the lift station.
And doing that, one leaned forward too much and "fell" forward, so slow that the ski binding did not release...
That last one brings back fond memories.
