- In the third and final part of our Bengali kitchen set-up series, we talk about one of the most requested topics, kitchen tools. A kitchen tool is anything that you use in the kitchen to cook food. While having the right equipment for the right job does make life easier, at the end of the day a kitchen tool is just a vehicle for your skills.
LIST OF KITCHEN TOOLS at bongeats.com/kitchen (contains affiliate links)
Not everybody needs everything, and with that in mind, we’ve classified the items on this list in three broad categories. If you’ve been following this series from the beginning, you will be familiar with the BASIC, EXPERT and NINJA tags. It is worth stressing that you can cook delicious food even without a lot of these tools-tools are just a matter of convenience.

It’s overwhelming to see how patiently you have listed each essential items used in a Bengali kitchen. Hats off to you 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
"The wand chooses the wizard" and "বাঙালির প্রধান অস্ত্র" কাঠি। Pure gold.😂😂😂
No. 43 on trending. Not bad at all.
Wow great video. I think this might be the 1st video on CZcams with such a detail information of cooking essential cookwares. Hats off
True
These guys needs to be recognized publicly for taking this great effort .
I hope these guys also migrate to other eastern regions of cooking - Assam , Oriya , Nagaland , and the other sister states

I was sitting with my American Professor while she was checking something that I had recently compiled for her. It was taking her a lot of time so she asked me to go ahead and do whatever I liked. I opened this video on my phone and started watching it in parts. The moment the kid exclaimed, "Ami jani, mogojastro," I spewed spit all over her papers. After that, I had to spend 15 minutes explaining the joke to her. This is brilliant! The simplicity and clarity in your videos is stellar!
Hahaha. We hope she was amused.
A bottle opener is handy for opening coldrinks.. (clears the throat) and 'other bottles' 😉 😀.
Yep, loved that! Made the episode suddenly feel it was for 'us'!
loved this!
😂😂
You know what he mean......
Me too
Bangali r favourite ostro!! "Kathi"... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Died laughing!!! Eto daarun bhaabe bolle eta!! Also agree with your point that the sound of steel scraping against steel gives you a headache.. i feel very uncomfortable.. but yes the khunti is the absolute essential.. ami jokhon ranna kori.. ami dekhi je flat bottomed pan taye ranna kora ar kadhai te ranna kora dish same holeo alada taste kore.. now i know why!! Always will prefer a kadhai now!! Love you guys for this!!
Kather khunteeee!!!! wooden spatula, bhai, best akdom awaaj hobe na, chhaankao lagbe na.
Apart from Kathi , Khunti is deadly only maayer obaddho bachhas will understand 😂😂...this video is very helpful.
Or amar obaddho bhai. He gets shit scared to come into the kitchen if I cook.
Garam khunti🤣🤣
This video is epic! I am only 4 minutes into it and already, it's is safe to say I have never seen such a thorough explanation of cookware in any video. And the graphics for oil consumption in a kadhai were brilliant!
I have been requesting these for so long! Thank you both for this wonderful series. The episodes are so detailed yet not overwhelming. Only you know how to get it right. Thank you once again. Hugs! 💕
There s no doubt about your kitchen skills, however, your sense of humor (Kathi) was THE BEST !!
Hellos guys, I am a sailor and have been watching your videos for the past month or so. I cannot explain the amount of joy I experience while watching you guys cook bangali dishes. It takes me back home. It's so comforting. I really appreciate your effort to revive the 'cooking' of bangali cuisine amongst our present generation of go getters. Since everyone is always so busy and prefers ordering in and what not, watching these videos atleast makes it look doable....I am all praises for the two of you. Been refering to all my friends to have a look and drool. 🙌
P.s....mul astro was bang on.
Oh man, I was one of the ones who requested this... you can't believe how useful this is for setting up an Indian kitchen. Thank you for having done this, must have taken a great deal of time and effort, time you must spend for making those awesome videos... so, completely appreciate this (:
Dude the references are mind blowing.. And Saptarshi saying “kathi” definitely made me chuckle.. These 3 part video series is a lifesaver..
Brilliant! As always.
We're still lacking those khuntis in our kitchen, badly need one.
Haan, difficult to find a nice khunti here. Thank you 😀
One of the main difference of your recipes from other cooking channel is the quality of the video and the clean kitchen setup you guys have. Finally the way you guys put all that effort and precision to make such good authentic bengali recipes is asome......... Thanks a lot for all those good healthy recipes.
Paused the video just to admire the Ollivander quote.. *slow clap*
I’ve never said this before but I love you guys 😘
Remember, the wand chooses the wizard!
বাঙালির সেরা অস্ত্র : কাঠি।

This is amazing. I dream of when I can finally move out of sharehouses and into my own place and set up a kitchen of my own - will definitely be using this as my guide, cheers from the UK!
One word came in my mind after watching the video, "Amazing". You people make kitchen organization for a newbie or even for a pro as quick as easy. There is nothing to add or nothing rest to think. Just superb definition I must say.
You guys are awesome...watched the video back to back three times !!! "The wand chooses the wizard" and the "Ahem " after mentioning the bottle opener are mindblowing...keep going.
Hehe. You really HAVE watched it closely. Those are easy to miss. :-D

I admire the details, the finesse of your video and the hint of humour therein! Keep up the good work guys 🙂
Your sense of humour is mind blowing...an extremely useful and entertaining video as always....No unnecessary swanky expensive items or modern day gadgets just practical useful and everyday no tension products...The daily instructions to the maid as to which side of the scotchbrite to use on which items can be such a pain...best kitchen setup for a bangali/indian kitchen however glamorous some other kitchens in other videos may look like..thanks a ton...
Still one of my favourite Friday lookouts and the forgetful me always remembers that there's a new bong eats, thank you both...

I love u more n more. The way u describe everything so neatly n without fancy jargons show how much u both love ur craft. I simple love ur hastle-free, to-the-point, clean presentations. I wish i had u as my friend who i could share my love for cooking with. U'd defo love my kitchen back at Odisha which i'd carefully constructed n nurtured till i had to leave n come to stay here in Ahmedabad. I am remaking my kitchen here from zero. Stocking ones kitchen with the best is a slow, long, arduous task which needs dedication n patience (offcourse the wealthy ones can make it happen overnight, but alas! I ain't rich enough). Ur precise video is a real blessing to start with. Treasuring u. ❤ Keep doing great. Bless u. Thank u.
I loved all ur videos but this time female anchor is in hurry, we are not going anywhere....🤔👌
But modern research proves aluminum kodhai is bad for health i hope u reply this comment
Btw nice video
Eta amio jante chai.your channel is my n my husband favourite channel.we follow everything from your videos. so plz reply us.
exactly what I said on other video. causes early dementia and other brain problems
You can choose not to use aluminium. That's up to you. But we did some online reading-up while making this video, and the general sense we got is that there is no conclusive proof of the harmful effects of aluminium as absorbed through cookware (that Alzheimer's study is from the 1970s: www.alz.org/alzheimers-dementia/what-is-alzheimers/myths). Like Anyway Kundu says above, if the kadai is old/damaged or if you cook something too acidic in it, aluminium might leech into the food, but there is still nothing definitive about that being a hazard, as aluminium, being one of the most abundant metals on earth, is absorbed by our body in various ways. The thing about the internet is that you will find a supporting source for any belief you hold, so for what it's worth, check out this Quora thread (www.quora.com/Why-is-it-harmful-to-cook-in-aluminium-cookware) and an article in Cook's Illustrated (www.cooksillustrated.com/how_tos/6390-is-aluminum-cookware-safe).
I don’t know if they still sell them but when we were back home, we had LOHAR KORAI. It’s heavy but very convenient. The one we had lasted over 20 years and was still in good condition.
Firstly I absolutely LOVE your channel even though I discovered it a couple of months ago. You guys make it look so easy and pleasing and even though I don't know much about cooking I wanna try these recipes.
And lastly, couldn't stop myself from commenting on this post because of that Harry Potter reference!!! ❤❤
All the three parts are so informative and done with such detailed research.... even a first timer will get it!!! AMAZING WORK...
