The M48 Tactical War Hammer from United Cutlery is the hammer/axe combination! The cast 2Cr13 stainless steel black oxide-coated head can pummel almost anything with ease. The handle features a defensive war hammerhead and a devestating piercing spike, which offers great applications as an effective breaching tool and defensive hammer. The fiberglass and reinforced nylon handle is nearly indestructible, and the axe head is attached to it with metal bolts. Includes a TPR hammerhead cover and a nylon sheath with Velcro closure.

well at least your opponenets sheild is 1 now extremely weak 2 unbalanced and unwieldy and 3 heavy your opponent would drop thier sheild at that point or they would be carrying a liability.

This is why you go for the legs. If your opponent can’t stand, that shield won’t help.

Love the hammer, love the video. Thinking about, if the shield would be carried on hand, if the spike would go through or bounce off. Against fixed solid support it went barely through...
I can't believe that the tip on that hammer had no damage after hitting the brick. That's pretty good!
But carrying a hammer with you will be illegal like everything else. I mean I had to turn my multi tool in, when I crossed into Canada, because it has a 2" knife in that locks in place and could hypothetically be used in self defense. I know, how ghastly the concept of self defense not complient on waiting 45minutes for the government to show up after one has been victimized or killed. But either way through unintended consequences that utility knife could have saved more lives cutting me or someone loose from a car accident for instance. It's really all about making sure the government can charge anybody they want, for the failure of the government keeping them safe.

You basically made the weapon dull and tried testing on the shield. Either go straight to shield and then test on everything else OR food, plastic, wood, metal and then concrete. Not the other way around. Then you’ll get the full effect.

I don't like that tang construction. There's a reason why period warhammers historically were constructed the other way: With langets around the haft up the middle, that's a weak point in this design. Tactically, in modern (Urban) combat, there's another use for something like this over say a tomahawk: It's a tool, you can use a fire-ax (With back spike) to pry off car trunks, or steel security doors, but there's a good reason to go with a hammer with a back spike over an ax. You can hammer the hammer face, like a ball peen, to drive the spike in, then pry to rip the opening wider, or tear off hinges. You can also knock a doorknob off with a couple swings, then punch the lockwork out with a spike. In a hall, or recessed doorway, it's a lot better to use something like this instead of a fire-ax to gain entry. (However, a fire ax is better for splitting wooden doors, or chopping through beams, and studs in residential wall framing.) Of course, it's also an effective weapon, but then so is a handgun. I'd like to see you cut a mousehole through a wall with a pistol.
I don't like the choil on the blade, nor the cutouts here, either. If you want to use this as a can-opener, you want the edge to come all the way to the head. That choil serves no purpose, whatsoever, except for limiting your cutting power at the point with the most leverage.
