godzilla vs kong the 2021 version and godzilla and kong the new empire
Whoever did this video did not watch these movies
Mine was gvk from 2021 then I watched every 1900 Godzilla movie. they were REALLY good
Toho> Legendary 🥱
kung Kong vs Godzilla 1963 🦍vs🐉
i'm hella grateful that Godzilla Minus One won an Oscar Award for best VFX
overrated
Why the hate?
‘Godzilla Minus One’ is the first Godzilla movie that won the Academy Award in March 2024.
😁👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It won the Academy award for best visual effects. It was a great movie and it won that award deservedly so but when you say ‘it won the academy award’ without specifying, people are gonna think it won for best movie if they’re not informed.
"the Academy Award"? they only give out one each year?
Why didnt potc recieve one too ?
@@King_Ghidorah_666 Dead Man’s Chest won best visual effects in 2006
@@denyol2846 OMG iam thankful and sorry at the same time (sorry for bieng toxic that is)
The Oscar winning Godzilla Minus One. Honestly, earned. I don't think I've cried watching a Godzilla movie, like, ever.
I think it’s overrated
@@sarriominski3756 I do prefer a handful of the over Gokis over it but its still good.
@@cradodragmire1563
Not Oscar good is what we are saying... Gojira movie ls were never about the human connections... The op commenter doesn't understand anything...
The people who were so emotional about this movie made me laugh, it was good. That's it. So ridiculous. Give me the monster verse stuff any day
@@JasenMinus I mean, the Monsterverse stuff definitely scratches the Pro Wrestling/smashing toys together part of my brain something fierce, and I do enjoy that. But Minus One definitely had some bite to it that I really vibed with.
Godzilla minus one is LEGENDARY🎉🎉🎉🎉
bot trash
Is overrated
Godzilla Minus One is not trash. I was able to watch it online with English subs and I have to say if anyone knows how to make Godzilla a threatening presence it’s our good friends in Japan. With this movie and Shin Godzilla in 2016, the monster is living up to his original concept from 1954.
@@sarriominski3756all Godzilla legendary movies are garbage

Godzilla Minus One is going down in history as a legendary movie since it reminded hardcore Godzilla fans what he once was:
An unstoppable force of atomic destruction. That is what makes it so special, and making Godzilla 50 meters tall again is great since it is not competing to be the tallest Godzilla incarnation. A special Godzilla for the books.
Why you keep shutting on gmk 😢so underrated gnk Godzilla si also all of that and he also kicks monster butt and also unstoppable force of nature
Godzilla minus One and Godzilla X Kong the new Empire are my favorite movies
I remember coming home from middle school on Fridays & watching black & white Godzilla movies, then Ultraman. Those were great, carefree days. I still watch Godzilla!
Ya, I'd rather root for Godzilla and other Kaiju rather than some dumbass sports team.
Godzilla Minus One is awesome and definitely deserves the Oscar
Godzilla 1984 is the Godzilla movie of my childhood. Who didn’t shed a tear when Godzilla was led into an active volcano and plummeted to his death?
His screaming while falling in the depths always broke my heart
84, 85, 86 were traumatizing years for me at the theater as a kid lol. Artax death in Neverending Story. Godzilla death in Godzilla 85. Optimus Prime death in Transformers; the movie.
Despite being a long time Godzilla fan
I finally saw the original 1954 film in full length yesterday
And it was amazing
From the iconic Godzilla theme playing constantly throughout the film, Godzilla’s impressive and scary design and the heavy themes of how destructive humanity is
And who could forget the epicly named, Oxygen Destroyer weapon
As longtime Godzilla fans, we love it, great job, WatchMojo.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
“I eat up a whole city like some Tokyoplait, you get spoon full hot lead like ‘here comes the airplane!’” Godzilla
"Damn I despise you, you make weak tokusatsu. Soft like some tofu, that's a kaiju haiku!"
That was a quality ERB. Godzilla wrecked Kong lol.
70 YEARS of the King of the Monsters!
King Kong vs Godzilla was my first time at the age of 4 and never stopped watching Godzilla movies since then.
This is a crazy list... But I'm glad you guys are giving big G the time to shine. Thanks!
KOTM being 20 is a disgrace
THANK YOU, I don't get the hate
@@xemera1d IMO its the best monsterverse movie
@@xemera1dBad character development, extreme darkness, still teasing and cutting away(idk what people talk about when they say more action) , Rodan becoming ghidorahs lackey instead of doing the cool 3 against one team up.
@@Nikowgreek
Agreed, it's ridiculous as the hate made is to sell the lowest number of 4k copies and now it's very hard to get the 4k steelbook.
I hate Adam Wingard... I want another monster movie with heart like KOTM!
No way that it’s inferior to Destroy all Monsters. I also preferred GKOTM to Godzilla vs. Kong (although the latter was still very entertaining!)
Godzilla Minus One is probably my favorite Japanese movie as of now
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! I didn't watch the original Godzilla movie (1954). Now, I must watch it. 🤣
you won't be disappointed watch it on blu-ray it has both the Japanese version and the 1956 American version you should also try Shin Godzilla
godzilla vs biollante has always been a classic!
Agreed
My most favourite ❤
Destroy all monsters had been the inspiration for the best kaiju fighting game of all time
I never get tired of watching the original Godzilla, Shin Godzilla and Godzilla Minus One
The original ‘Godzilla’ and ‘Godzilla Minus One’ are two of the best in the whole franchise…
😁
Your conclusions are not satisfactory. Please study the whole franchise again.
@@hoibsh21He/she doesn’t need to. I would rather watch the best of the best in the franchise than waste my life away going through one mediocre or terrible movie after another.
@@michaelmonthey5974Huh? The rest are mediocre and bad you say?
The only ones that are bad are "Son of Godzilla and Revenge" all the other ones are fine/watchable.@@michaelmonthey5974
@@michaelmonthey5974That's such a horrible take btw do better
I clicked the Top 10 Godzilla Villains video out of curiosity, and ever since then I have become a huge admirer of Kaiju movies! Last year I saw Godzilla Minus One at the cinema, then watched as it won an Oscar! Seeing this list now, it feels like it has all come around!
I feel like this list is totally legit! I haven't watched every Godzilla movie, but it's at the top of my list for me. I grew up more so seeing the Showa era of movies as a kid and it wasn't until October last year that I seen the original that I understood how Godzilla began and Minus One went back to the drawing board that makes the first movie and second make absolute sense for this list!
As a long time big G fan I’m happy with your choices!😁👍👍
Godzilla is my favorite movie franchise of all time. I've watched these movies since I was a little kid and to this day, they're still so much fun to watch. Some of my favorites are Godzilla 1985, Godzilla 2000, Godzilla vs MechGodzilla 2, Final Wars, the Monsterverse Godzilla movies, Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla, and Godzilla Minus One. Long live the king.
This might be a hot take, but... I think Minus One surpasses the original Gojira. It's an objectively excellent period drama that happens to have an incredible iteration of Big G.
I don't think it surpasses it still.
Dr. Serazawas conflict is still a special kind of horrifying and the recency the movie has to the subject its talking about gives it the eerie aura.
@@cradodragmire1563 I agree with your main comment. I've pretty much always held Gojira to be the best in the series.
That said, I think Minus One is a better all-around movie, especially in terms of human characters and story. The growing relationship between Koichi and Noriko, the similarly growing threat of a new nuclear threat just a few years after the bombs, all of it ties together so well. And it's a GREAT version of Godzilla, absolutely evil in a way we've never seen before.
Regarding recency to the events, Gojira is almost 10 years after the bombs. Minus One is literally just a couple years after.
@@AntiNubDevice I feel like you missunderstood my last point.
Gojira was LITERALLY made recently.
Minus One was made in 2024 far away from the bombings.
And I watched Gojira only recently and I think its unique tone and the horrible thing Serazawa is going through is still the most compelling thing in the franchise.
Even is Minus One has modern movie techniques.
Also Godzilla isnt evil in either movie.
The only "evil" Godzilla was in GMK.
Id say these 2 are like animals.
@@cradodragmire1563 Minus One is absolutely evil. Never in the series has Godzilla intentionally hunted humans like he does in Minus One. He goes out of his way to track down single individual humans, whereas before he did what anything his size would, and ignores the ants.
Minus One is intentional and clearly malicious in how he goes about things.
@@AntiNubDevice Okay but the "never before" part is whats getting me.
GMK is still the most evil Godzilla.
Minus One is still an angry animal and not pure evil.
I would still say GMK is the only "evil" Godzilla.
Sort of the plot of the movie he wants to wipe out humanity and is willed on by the spirits who also want humanity gone.
GMK makes the most direct active effort and it is spoon-feed you on screen a lot more that he is aiming for people.
Even making jokes at the expense of his evil such as the hospital scene where he intentionally lets a person think they will live.
I think it’s very interesting how Minus One got popular (and it appealed to audiences in the western world, too). Most movies today get popular because of hype, big name actors, and mass marketing. But Minus One got popular in a more retro (and better) way. Its success was mainly due to word of mouth and how people told other people about just how amazing it is. Movies getting success and becoming popular in this fashion isn't as common as it was in the 20th century and stuff. So it's cool how this movie's popularity was spread in this fashion :)
Cant wait to rewatch Minus One when it comes to streaming services!
Amazon Prime, May 3rd
Probably not till July or August imo.
@@GoofyPoptartBlu-Ray is on Labor Day, followed with it's Amazon Prime premiere on May 3rd
It's already on Netflix
The top 3 shown here are in my top 3 as well, except Original is 2nd and Minus One is 1st.
My top 10
1. Godzilla Minus One
2. Gojira 1954
3. Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant monsters all out attack
4. Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah
5. Godzilla vs Destroyah
6. Godzilla Vs MechaGodzilla II
7. Godzilla vs Biolante
8. The Return of Godzilla
9. Godzilla Vs Kong
10. Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S
Godzilla-1.0は、日本人の美しい利他の精神をよく現した傑作です。世界の皆さんがこの映画を評価しているのがとても嬉しいです。from Japan 🇯🇵
Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla (2002), Tokyo SOS, Godzilla 2000 & Godzilla Raids Again should've been in the top 10. Minus One is my all time favorite.
The Boat Chase Sequence in _Minus One_ is *EPIC*
I already knew what the top two would be still deserving
As someone who experienced the dark age of Godzilla 2004 - 2014. I am so very grateful for the king’s return. 🙌🏽
Godzilla minus one and Godzilla and Kong: A new empire were my favorites. 🎉
The first Godzilla vs Kong film. It the movie that left such an impression on my youth that it made me fall in love with him, the genre, and movies all together.
Love the occasional love my boy gets from WatchMojo! #LongLiveTheKing
s-tier video right here
1. Godzilla 1954
2. Godzilla GMK
3. Godzilla vs Kong
4. King Kong vs Godzilla
5. Godzilla Minus One
6. Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla
7. Ghidorah The Three-Headed Monster
8. Godzilla x Kong The New Empire
9. Invasion of the Astro-Monster
10. Godzilla vs. Destoroyah
First time I was fully introduced to Godzilla was through an old VHS tape my late dad had of the movie Godzilla vs The Sea Monster (AKA Ebirah: Horror of the Deep) and that was when my interest in Big G was born.
Can’t remember my first godzilla movie but I do remember how I first watched them, on tnt’s godzilla marathon
My top 5 favorites would probably be the hottest take but whatever
1. A New Empire
2. Gojira
3. Minus One
4. King of the Monsters
5. Godzilla vs Destroyah
Far as I can remember, it was what was then called MONSTER ZERO (today called INVASION OF ASTRO MONSTER). 1973, New York's Channel 11. Been hooked since.
I really like 'Godzilla against MechaGodzilla' 2002. It's got a very goofy story, almost like an anime. The action is excellent
The First Godzilla that I watch is Tristar's 1998 version starring Matthew Broderick
Same here. And I still love Godzilla 98!!
@@gregmartin8145 Radioactive breath hot take: it’s more entertaining than the overrated Destroy all Monsters.
A small fun fact about Godzilla Final Wars is that the US Godzilla (dubbed Zilla for the movie) made an appearance in the movie and was quickly taken out by Godzilla with a tail swipe that sent it flying into the Sydney Opera House. 🤣
Hoping fathom events or someone does a nationwide showing of Godzilla Vs Biollante. My personal favorite of the franchise and deserves a proper reshowing.
Finally saw Shin Godzilla and Godzilla Minus One they were good movies.
My favorite of the Godzilla movies is Ghidra the Three-Headed Monster. My least favorite is Godzilla Monster Wars, or, as I like to think of it, Project 9 from Outer Space with Toho monsters instead of zombies.
I grew up with Godzilla 1998, and its what introduced me to Godzilla in the first place. It will always be number 1 to me and the best God"zilla".
Why no Godzilla 1998? It was the first one that tried to globalize the franchise (in a Hollywood style). Without it, who knows how it would look today?
Because 1998 it's not Godzilla.
It's just a bad movie with a giant lizard.
Godzilla: Final Wars easily in my top 5 might have been a flop revenue wise, but Don Frye delivered a masterclass😂
I think that Godzilla: King of the Monsters was the best out of the Legendary series. I enjoyed it was more than Godzilla vs Kong. The CGI was better and I like how dark it was
Did you really just use the phrase “the underrated Heisei era”? That’s like…almost everyone’s favorite era lol
The Heisei era blows.
@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork oh please enlighten us on your favorite era. This should be fun lol
Showa. The movies actually focused on telling good stories with excellent characters to make you care about the monster action. A lot of movies also focused on a genre or message without shoving that message down your throat like the Heisei era would do.
My first Godzilla movie was Mothra vs Godzilla, but I saw it under the title Godzilla vs the Thing.
I love them all
I would love to see Boom Studios’ “Godzilla vs Power Rangers” get adapted into an epic movie.
the Top 3 shut be
1. Godzilla: Minus-One
2. Shun Godzilla
3. Gojira
I honestly wouldnt put shin in my top 5.
But I get why people like it.
@@cradodragmire1563 Same cuz I'm was never that impressed with Shin Godzilla
There’s a reason why call in GMK it’s a mouthful to say the full title.
They gotta make Godzilla Minus One widely available! I wanna watch it again!!
I haven't seen the newer Godzilla flicks from Hollywood. I'm a big fan of the TOHO flicks. I still think the original 50s foick is terrifying! I lost faith in Hollywood with Godzilla 199-whatever. From the looks of it, I need to check out the new ones. ❤❤
Go! Go! Godzilla!
Top 5 movies Godzilla
My opinion
5.Godzilla Final Wars 7,9/10
4.Godzilla Against 9/10 Mechagodzilla
3.Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla || 9,1/10
2.Godzilla X Kong:The New Empire 9,2/10
1. Godzilla Minus One 10/10
Minus One did something that Hollywood Godzilla could never. Having compelling human characters!
Exactly!! Minus one is a masterpiece
Godzilla vs destoroyah is an emotional film not just because Godzilla dies. It’s an emotional masterpiece period. Like the relation of Godzilla and Junior grow just to have destoroyah kill Junior. Godzilla cries out and goes to his son. He breathes life into him then melts down and dies after saving him. That’s what punches me in the gut is that scene and seeing Miki cry over Junior, who she raised.
True brotha
The first godzilla film I watched Godzilla vs. Megalon on vhs when I was 10 along with the 1978 godzilla cartoon
My predictions in no particular order
1954
Minus one
Destroy all monsters
Mechagodzilla 1
Terror of Mechagodzilla
Godzilla X Kong
Shin Godzilla
King Kong vs Godzilla
Ghidorah 1
Destroyah
Mothra vs Godzilla
Godzilla 2014
Biollante
Final Wars
GMK
2000
Mechagodzilla 2
Against Mechagodzilla
Invasion of Astro Monster
Godzilla Minus One is a MASTERPIECE
Biolantee finale getting the praise a respect it deserves. I still need to watch shin.
i really like the old school Godzilla movies like one that came in 1954 -1970s😜
Godzilla (2014). And Gareth Edwards in general. You brought him back to cinemas better 😊! But really, what can you do to bring him back GREATLY overall?? 😮😂
Back then when Blockbuster was around the first Godzilla movie. I ever watched as a kid when he was rented was Godzilla versus monster zero. Yeah my parents rented most of the Godzilla movies in Blockbuster when it was around now I have the whole collection I’m just collecting some of the action figures at the big G himself.
Godzilla (1998) Is My Favorite Godzilla Movie Indefinitely & One Of My Favorite Movies Of All Time :-)🎞️📺🎥🎟️🎬📀🧀🥤🍿🌭🍭🥨
Godzilla to this day is simply amazing and always will be forever tbh. As long as Godzilla shall live, which is forever, of course. As long as the legend of him shall live, which is forever, of course.😭🙏😭
Godzilla Minus One is a Must-SEE
Oh wow, the OG Godzilla is their choice for #1? Who would have guessed? Such an original decision
Because it's true it's the best one
I can’t believe 2014 is even on the list, let alone above Hedorah or GMK
The first GODZILLA movie I saw was GODZILLA 1998
You DEFINITELY have got to do a best Mothra moments countdown and have Rebecca the WatchMojo lady narrate the countdown!!!!!! The Queen of the Monsters hast spoketh!!!!! And also, a countdown of the funniest Godzilla moments!!!!!!!
You should do best scenes from the Chucky tv series or best characters.
Can't wait for Godzilla Minus One streaming 😭😭😭
Minus ones, Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla, Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra vs Ghidorah, Godzilla 2014, final wars Godzilla, millenium Godzilla, Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla 1993, Godzilla vs destroroyah, Godzilla king of the monster, Godzilla vs mothra, Godzilla Kyriu, Godzilla vs Kong 2021,1964,etc, btw Did You know that before return of Godzilla was released there was going to include shapeshifiting totem like monster named Bakan for Godzilla to fight? Unfortunately thought it was deleted
Top 10 Godzilla Crossovers With A lot of Potential.
Regardless I still love the 1998 American Godzilla or Zilla. I've watched that more than any other Godzilla movie, even as a kid I thought it was cool the design was different
Sorry, I gotta be that guy... Mothra wasn't in Final Wars, and Rodan was his enemy in the film. Yes, Rodan was "mind controlled", but he didn't become an ally.
Tied for 1st Godzilla vs Destoroyah & Godzilla Minus One
3. GMK
4. Final Wars
5. Gojira
Having Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire not on the list, it felt so wrong.
Godzilla minus one needs to come out in America on blu ray. I really want to see it.
This video is the definition of nostalgic bias. King of the monsters being anywhere below top 3 is insane, and minus one not being 1st is absurd
I see this, I click
Godzilla Minus One was not only an excellent SciFi movie, it was an excellent movie period.
Like the very first Godzilla film, "Minus One" will go down in history as not only one of the very best Godzilla films, but as one of the best films of all time.
Top 10 versions of Godzilla as rivals for Monsterverse Godzilla
Titanosaurus looks so goofy and dumb, anytime he got screentime was a total waste of film.
20-12 can be summed up as Ghidorah, Ghidorah, Mecha G, Mecha G, Ghidorah, Mecha G, Ghidorah, Mecha G, and then back to Ghidorah.
Those 2 seem to be guaranteed to deliver
Watched 1954 Gojira...and nothing else...not falling for cashgrabs.
Minus One is easily the best Modern Godzilla Film
My other favorite is Godzilla, Jet jaguar vs Gigan and megalon
