I love how rob can created an entire campaign using the plot points BaTD's just missed or forgot about.
Or just completely and deliberately ignored too. (In fairness to them the emergence of a new Dark Lord is the sort of thing that will kind of take priority most of the time).
@@neodigremo - agreed; it sounded a lot as if the guys deliberately left this plot point for the ladies to cut their teeth/fangs on. Besides, if Bonecaller still throws up every time he summons a zombie…
Rob also mentioned at some point that He's keeping track of time because some of the stuff the boys left is still happening, so having the ladies show up to deal with it is very fitting.
@@duicic8541 You give the boys to much credit. They are terrible at D&D. But funny.
@@duicic8541 I don’t know if it was for the ladies, but I am sure Rob has made it a point to let them get involved in this sort of things.
And calling the lads terrible at DND…… I disagree. Not rules experts but they definitely play their characters well which is the most important thing.
Shoutout to Robs acting performance as he had Phoenix all sad face through the entire story.
Agreed
14:10 that face is gold
Thought I even saw a tear roll down that sneaky face , but it’s all good, I was picked back up by arrow looking rob dead in the eye with a “yeah alright mate calm down “ look straight into his soul 🤣🤣🤣
While Rob's acting is 11/10, I think a large part of that is just Phoenix XD
Yeah, he is really good at playing the characters with personality and voice ❤ devotion and dedication at 💯%
Imagine if Arrow just turned someone, and while they're lying on the ground trying to recover she just vanishes and leaves one of those pamphlets on their chest for them to find when they wake up.
She's the vampire we all need :)
@@medve5555 your friendly neighborhood woman-vamp
In her later years, Arrow developed medicines to ease the cravings and side effects. She then put our promotional materials, largely for old people listening to the evening town crier, "Do you or someone you love experience malaise, loss of interest in food, increased sensitivity to sunlight, or a craving for blood? If so, you may have Vampirism. Ask your apothecary if Hexa-Arrowizole is right for you."
Horatio: *says literally anything*
Everyone else: "Is it getting hot in here?"
Rob himself was blushing there (or it was the lights, it might have been the lights 😂)
🎶🎶It's gettin' in herre (so hot), so take off all your clothes🎵🎵
even the undead apparently.
Master of Rizz, Lord of Seduction
So much kudos for whoever actually wrote a "So you're a vampire now" pamflet.
That piece was brilliant. 100% agree.
The best part of this episode imo
When will these be available in the VLDL shop? I need a few packs to just randomly leave one here and there...
What does the pamphlet say?? I tried to see the words frame by frame and sadly all blurry
@@jiaraanatalis1862 pls dont..delusional ppl will really think they became vampires..we have enough delusion in the world ruining things already...
Rob getting through an entire dramatic character monologue...a rare and beautiful thing.
Came here to say the same, I've never heard him talk for so long without interruption 🥲👌😂
Bodger gonna be pissed when he finds out Stephanie was turned into a vampire against her will, but he'll get over it immediately when he finds out Liam is dead. 😂
Is Liam truly dead? Or undead? “Waste not, want not”. I think we will be seeing Liam in some way sooner or later!
Thanks, I couldn't remember who Liam was and thought he was one of Baradun's fellow wizards 🧙♂️ or sorcerers 🧙♀️ 🧙♂️. Although now I am worried that Baelin was turned too.
@@mrbaab5932 Baelin is max level if you recall, incredibly unlikely that he's turned.
well, taking in account how much Bodger pays attention... i don't know... :D
You know, I always wondered what had happened when they alluded to that in the Guys quest. Because doesn't Bodger have a dream where he sees someone kill Liam and then hears Stephanie scream. I thought they'd tackle that in the main quest. But good to see it come full circle
I just want to say a HUGE "THANK YOU" from the bottom of my heart to the person (or people) who do the subtitles.
Thanks to this work, people who do not speak English can enjoy this masterpiece and the entire League as a whole.
Thank you very much!
They are also very helpful for those of us who have difficulty hearing, too.
Thanks to Lorquin as ever for the sublime subtitles. Their work is always worth a rewatch
Lorquin smashing it every week with subtitles 😍
They are especially useful in these tabletop games where multiple people speak at the same time - more of a problem with the guys, of course.
I love how Ellie notices Liam the Leatherworker immediately and Rowan doesnt recognise his own girlfriend!
The fact that Dimwood is so poor that Honeywood is rich by comparison is CRAZY!
There's probably just more of an economy there since that's where all the adventurers go
@@Lewkis01 I like to think that Dimwood is so poor that even the Bollywogs wouldn't steal from there since there's nothing of value😂
Were we to go by IRL medieval town name rules, "Honeywood" would point at a significant beekeeping industry (let's just use that word, even though my professors would have my neck for using a modern term), and honey was a valued commodity at the time, given that it was the most readily available sweetener. And people had as much of a sweet tooth then as we do today, so if you produced enough high-quality honey, you would never be that poor (even with Baradun constantly dissing you).
(Side note, sugar cane was already known in the Near East; Fulk of Chartres actually describes the famished warriors of the First Crusade as falling over a sugar cane field and desperately sucking at the plants. However, it needs a subtropical climate to flourish, minimum, so cultivation further north than the Mediterranean was out. Sugar beets were not widely cultivated until the Napoleonic era, and high corn fructose syrup is a 20th century thing)
@@onecoolboy98I was wondering if the mayor is half Bollywog?
@@mrbaab5932 I think she's an orc? I think he's speaking like that to mimic second language with tusks?
Horatio "you can trust us" 5 min later, sneaki" ill guess ill stab her"😂
This is the kind of nonsense we need to remind ourselves that it is a VLDL game 😂
Rob acting out an important plot point..
Misfits:
*All taking notes constantly. Weighing up the consequences of their responses. NPCs eventually open up*
BATD:
*A single note is written down by Adam and is never looked at again. Next on the agenda is the loot in the room. Results in at least one upset NPC*
One suicidal NPC*
I mean... One of my players in CoS killed the Coffin maker. The whole group decided to break down his door, and because they have pet Direwolves (From a previous campaign so I excluded them from Strahds control), their aggression, and the two massive wolves, made the guy practically catatonic in fear after I rolled a couple of poor constitution throws. When he was just a babbling mess our groups fighter "Jokingly" Said he swung his morning star whip at him. I very unjokingly said "Roll your attack" He rolled, it hit. I said "You snap your morning star whip at the defenseless old coffin maker, catatonic from fear due to your aggressive actions and the DIrewolf companions. The spiked ball at the tip cracks into his temple and caves his skull in, he slumps to the ground dead." Rest of the party started very quickly panicking about their next action.
Spreading pamphlets about vampirism, making moves on Bodger's forgotten girlfriend, and interrogating an NPC with reasonable questions. All in one episode.
Be still my heart 😍
And the ending is so cute!! 🥺🥺
Reasonable Questions?! Preposterous! They didn’t even ask her what her Favorite Fear was😂
@@onecoolboy98 Hey, baby steps! We're only 7 episodes deep! 😂
I know, right? ❤
Omg, some of yalls' memory is wayyy too good. I completely forgot abt that!
I love how Ellie, immediately after hearing the name "Liam", asks whether he's a leatherworker lmao. And Brit also immediately catches on after.
I mean Liam is not a VLDL DND exclusive; he is there in the Epic NPC Man series too
I wonder if they're gonna make that canon since I remember Adam and Rob saying ,,It's all canon until it's not canon''
When did he show up in the epic npc man series?
@@SavageEpicness-fw2ue Almost any episode that takes place in Darkwood
those playing the Misfits are paying much closer attention - after watching the boyz Epic NPC crew flaff through Azerim
@@SavageEpicness-fw2ueLast time I can remember from the top of my head was the ,,Let's just make out right here and now" episode.
In first episode, I was like "wait horatio is really bard? Seems like fighter to me"
Last two episodes: "Yep, definitely bard, the bardiest bard to ever bard" :D
He bards so hard, his big backstory reveal is going to be that he's paying massive amounts in child support at every village he's been to
minotaur = horny bard
"I guess i stab" , chefs kiss. 😂 legit laughed out loud
Phoenix was defo a Star player in this 😂. Hero point cash in after I guess I stab was 😂
I like how this ties in to the other series, I like the reference to the episode where Bodger has the vision of Stephanie and Liam
You won't want to miss the next guy's episode.
Arrow is a vampire and turns Ulric into a vampire with ready made "So youve become a Vampire" pamphlets and nobody bats an eye.
Stefanie becomes a vampire through a traumatic story and everyone loses their mind.
well, i think it's a difference, if you have an human vampiric, idk, carpenter or so everyone knows about from the beginning - and an vampiric, hunter- half-orc in your village that hid his vampirism for weeks/months...🤔
@@PoobertFartley Not the mention the one that turned Ulric into a vampire saved them, so of course they're probably not going to react that much!
0r@@cookie856 ... and probably, when it clusterfooks later, in absence (Yes Rob. We know what you will do here!!) the villagers will deal with him, anyways, after the half town is doomed. ...😬
The mayor probably already made preperations - instant in the night for Alric - for when the heros are away 😉
@@PoobertFartley Also Ulric received vampiric consultation and a nice pamphlet, it seems to be a much more professional, client proximity service...
Arrow missed the opertunity of starting her own vampire 🧛♀️ 🧛♂️ covent by turning the other dead or dying Dimwitt Militia.
Phoenix's face as she listens to the recounting of what happened to Stephanie is priceless
Horatio has so much rizz that people of Dimwood need to implement a rizzstraining order
There is no one who has any rizzentment towards him.
Wow I think you just won the comments section
@@amit53shuklaThere has to be a little Rizzidual Rizzentment
Rizz Training from Horatio definitely in order.
I love the energy Rhi brings to the table... She genuinely seems like an amazing person to play D&D with, based on her RPing so far!
I love both the boys and girls campaigns, BUT… the way the girls dig out and explore these plot points that Rob drops is just AMAZING.
And Rob - absolutely amazing monologue!
I'm waiting for the 8-player crossover event when the campaigns merge, and Hamish is the final BBEG.
*Byron played by Hamish
With his obvious weak spot?
@@logflogger Obvious? Or misdirection?
12:00. Britt intimidating the GM in reallife aswell😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"I have nothing to live for on land so I'm gonna go for it." Best line.
My word that monologue was phenomenal, Rob never ceased to impress
Bodger's in for a treat when he comes home. An undead crush and a cheesy minotaur to compete with 😂
Rob: being entirely serious when talking about Tra'kel
Rhee: He got no rizz
Everyone else: no rizz at all
😆😆😆😆
I LOVE IT when Rob gets to exposition dump... gets my attention and I hang onto every word!!! Such a riveting story teller!!!
Sidenote: I wonder if Horatio will ever cross paths with Sandra 🤔
Omg that would be amazing! If Horatio and Sandra ever do meet I pray to the DnD gods that Ben is guest starring! His Sandra is just so epic! 😅
Seams like one of the necromancers can not stand the smell of dead people. Good he didn't throw up ;) hope he is who I think he is. That would be an awesome reference to Epic NPC Man :D
Yeah!
He was last seen in Dimwood, after all
I love, how Horatio is just one big trope, but he is played masterfully.
12:28 Damn, Rob is a bloody good actor.
There is just a random crossbow sitting on the shelf amongst the bottle behind Rob, and it is delightful.
Like the shotgun the bartender keeps behind the bar in all the old Western movies.
That emotionally charged performance, Rob, would have been utterly wasted on the fellows. Bravo, good sir! Well done.
🎉😊😊😢😊😊
Find someone as into you as Phoenix is enthralled in that monologue. Just goes to show how great a storyteller Rob is
Bodger is going to show up yelling about how Stephanie is rightfully his.
14:13 Bonecaller's "condition" where he gets sick and gags when he's around dead bodies, LOL! Awesome reference to the skit, Rob!
Well spotted!
Gotta highlight Britt and Phoenix for doing some good 3rd person narration of their characters. A lot of liveplay dnd is so exclusively first-person acting, where I've found as a DM that a lot of players feel more comfortable with some 3rd person narration. Both are great ways to explore your character. Love to see it.
This game really feels like a high production value home game
Rob's monologue was great, I've never d&d'd, but with a GM like this it seems like a whole lotta fun.
Bonecaller not being able to pick up corpses? Yeah, liam is dead. Bodger, you are unopposed.
Well no, now there is Horatio 😂
Horatio v Bodger love triangle!!
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnDI want to see Bonecaller as a guest star player on the Dixhedds and Misfits. The lady that played the half Orc Druid would make a great guest star player.
LOL @ Rob very magnanimously describing Horatio and Stefanie as ho bags without saying they're ho bags. "interested in certain flirtations and such with alot of people" AHHAHHAHAHA
I was kind of hoping that since Stephanie has a really good way of managing her condition that they would've asked her to look after Ulric to help him thrive in the town as well. Here's hoping that happens behind the scenes 🤞
The pamphlet 😂
That pamphlet was beautifully made. Great work. ☺️
I was mighty impressed when I saw that. Props to the props department.
This campain is so much more ... l mean ... just ... more! No falling over each other with ideas, chaos and chaotic forwarding the storyline as a whole, but full on listening to the story (Rob, are you confused about this? You say -eh-ehm- a lot more here. ;) ) and even realy thinking about next moves and carefully treading around certain subjects. This slower burn is realy amazing! And there is realy a lot to think about, even when it seems a realy straight forward story, and a realy nice tie-in with Honnywood and all the characters that are emerging from there, and around there. It is my impression that this might be a much bigger adventure than just undead creepyness. Also supercurious about Bûbblé's background!
Thank you VLDL for all this adventuring fun!
I like to consider the other party is batshit NPC'S and a crazy "player" in "BOB", this is a mostly player party where they all want to watch cutscenes and experience every detail of the quests... Quite refreshing.
Boys have Bob turning against them one day,
Girls have Arrow to follow orders of the undead army one day.
Cool cool cool
I can't get enough of Horatio 😂 Would love to see Bodger's reaction when he hears about Stephanie's new boyfriend 😅
Stefanie is back😂, horatio watch out for bodger.. He might get jealous😅
Oh i didnt even realize that's his Stefanie. Woosh!
I mean, with Horatio’s rizz… he can win over Stephanie AND Bodger.
@@abigailroderick2275 and Sandra can join the fun too
Yea... no thanks..
@@abigailroderick2275 yeah you probably right...he would go for it🤣
Lol. Stephanie and Liam. I feel like it's been years since I've heard those names, and I was late to the boy's campaign.
So now you're a vampire. That pamphlet was gold!
Bodger is going to be thrilled to hear about Liam, and sad about Steph. Someone should have said Liam has got big rippling muscles, far more than that blacksmith up the road
'scotts are also brits' and then he was never heard from again
Good one! Although maybe it's something that Britt Scott Clark might appreciate...?
I don't think Bodger has any chance by Steph after she met Horatio Nobody can resists his rizz.
I don't think even Bodger will be able to resist. Horatio will charm him into forgetting what he's mad about.
So quickly they set the tone. I know they're building on the tone already set by both Epic NPC man, and BATD, but the vibe between the four (five) of them is set so quickly and become a thing so quickly. Most people playing together takes far longer than what, five hours of play time to get a tone and vibe, character certainty and marking the space. It's impressive.
Stephanies' backstory is from Episode 77 of the main D&D.
Losing my mind over the mental image of Horatio just smashing through Stefanie’s door like a Looney Tunes character 😂
Kool-aid man
@@karategirl084 Oh yeahhh
I have to keep reminding myself that Rob's acting inspires the music and not the other way around. Well done.
Sold. This team of players, the misfits, is immersive in the story. BATDH team is chaos and humor, this is story telling!!!!
Director Ben here, I was trying not to cry in one of the latest game sessions. It's a fantastic story told by the cast! Can't wait for you all to see it unfold.
Can't wait to see how the whole 'turn a random stranger into an undead creature of the night' plays out. xD
I like to think that when Horatio said that they would go to deadwood instead of darkwood it was because all he heard was "pretty lady need help" and none of the details stuck. Great first session, the girls have taken to the roleplay immediately.
Damn Rob! The way you told Stefanie's story real got to me!! Very very nicely done!! Also loved that Phoenix was on the edge of her seat during the story! Awesome to see that Horatio really is the party morale booster!
Great episode Ladies & Rob!
Bob would be proud of Sneaki for wringing the mayor dry like that
Man, Rob’s storytelling is just riveting. I’m practically in tears as he’s recounting Stephanie’s story.
Rob: "Her name is Stefanie"
Me: Where have I heard that before?
Stefanie: "...My Liam"
Me: OMG Its him and her 🤣🤣🤣
Props to Rob for making Bodger's forgotten dream into a storyline starting point. The Vivaverse Rises!!
29:25 Bodger got no chance against that.
I've been loving the ladies campaign so far. They bring wit, humor, emotions, and fun
I suspect Arrow left out the clause "if you kill your Sire you'll be reverted back to human" from her vampirism paper, interested in see how that will play out when Ulric finds out about that rule! lol.
Would he turn back into a healthy human, or would he revert back to the state he was in before Arrow bit him (seconds away from death)?
@@rorybutler7961 i believe he would turn back to healthy human, but dont quote me on that because i'm not really sure the rules in which they are playing.
Yay! Confirmation that the half-orc was Stephanie!!!!
That Leaflet is the D&D Version of the "Broken Arrow" code:
We are not sure what is more disturbing - that Arrow has created a new Vampire or that it happens so often she has a set of rules for them in printed form
She said it was her first one. I thought it more like she was so enthusiastic about it that she over prepare, like a overachiever doing its first project or something. " Look guys I made a list with bullet point"
It's her first! She's just trying to make amends for turning someone without their consent. She stayed up half the night making that!
The pamphlet should be more optimistic. "So... you're going to live forever...lol 🤣
It IS Stefanie! so invested in the story...
Its a real shame we didn't get to see Rob reprise his role as Stephanie for the green screen, Rhi could have had a lot of fun with that.
LETS. FREAKING. GO!!!
Go to Honeywood and mess with the boys campaign lol! They left bodies around and like mailed quest items home... Go!
And *lore-metagaming* Ellie is like "Let's just do a short trip to Honeywood. Maybe we find something interesting - I don't know, like a magic ring in the mailbox of some abandoned shop-hut or so ...💁🏽♀️"😬
The slow zoom in during the monologue was a great touch.
Rob assumes roles of different NPC`s masterfully. That whole Stephanie speech got me good, closed my eyes and forgot that i was watching a DnD session. Hats off to Rob!
What I love watching Rob DMing is how he does these short scenes that years down the line becomes a part of an even bigger plot.
Like, I'm wondering what the guys reactions to this would be. Would it be "Whose this, what are people talking about?" Or "ooohhh, sooo that's what happened."
Such different dynamics between the Dickheads and The Misfits. it is fantastic
I love how Ellie instantly recalls Liam's profession when the boys couldn't even get her character name right in the main campaign 😂 (tbf 😊it was 3-4years ago)
Rhi is quickly turning into my favorite player! ❤
She fits right in and enjoys the game so naturally!
Horatios’ flirting really puts Bedgers to shame 😂
BatD are given the chance to go back to Honeywood and take part in the adventure that Rob has painstakingly prepared. They decide to F off to Schmagenrog instead leading to Rob having to furiously improvise as always.
At the same time, The Misfits' players are creating their characters and asking if Rob has a campaign gor them. Rob glances at the lovingly prepared adventure for Dimwood and smiles.
First few hours of the campaign, the players begin pissing Rob off about astrology and Brit keeps provoking him with her equestrian knowledge and stealing an NPC's warhorse.
Rob dies a little more inside.
If Ulrich ends up being a BBEG later in the campaign (say ... wanting revenge on Arrow because he accidentally killed Reginald while hungry), it would just confirm Rob's godhood!
(Or, conversely, Reginald becomes the BBEG because Ulrich accidentally[?] took a sunlight stroll! ... Bonus God Points!!!)
I live for Horatio's flirting 😄
I wonder if Rob felt a little prickle of apprehension at the level of sophistication displayed after only a few hours of play.
Waaaait a minute...
Didn't Bodger actually get like a vision of Staphanie and Liam getting attacked? Did he just forget about it like me?
Yup, it was when they raided Skabatha’s house and Bodger drank from her cauldron. It’s crazy that Rob planned this years in advance.
@@rorybutler7961 And then he promptly forgot about it for several sessions until he met her dad and sisters.
Really love Horatio, the player every dm would dream of. Now I need Rhi to have more skits in epic npc man. But everybody is doing great!
You go to Honeywood for the rich people.
Meanwhile in the boys' campaign, Honeywood is described by BATD as a shithole. So that really puts Dimwood in perspective.
In fairness, BOB and Baradun aren’t impressed by Honeywood because they lived in the Elven Islands and the Temple of Kalabor respectively. It’s probably a really nice place by the standards of an average person in Azerim.
"I guess I'll stab" ahahahahahaha Sneaki struck again 😂
Reaching the 11-ish mark and realising I now HAVE to keep watching Misfits, due to story and lore.
I'm not complaining.
Sneaky, Rob, sneaky.
Rowan/Bodger is going to need a couple reminders for Stephaine.
Can we talk about how rob is a great actor he brings alot to all the characters he portrays, both in voice acting and manorisms. On top of keeping track of everything. Truely remarkable i want a DM that dedicated.
So what I’m imagining is that part in video games when your asked to pick the difficulty honey-wood easy mode, dim-wood normal mode, dark-wood hard mode
Honeywood - "My sheep have run amok"
Dimwood - Undead army attacks
Darkwood - Dead by Daylight, no rest
I honestly feel invested in Azerim. The jabberwocky, vampires, Rob just keeps coming up with great D&D content, and the VLDL crew always entertain!!❤❤ keep up the great work everyones, so glad you got the new studio and am proud to say I contributed! It was well worth it🎉
Hmm... Maybe Liam survived that encounter though. Since from the skits we saw that Liam lives and works in Darkwood. Maybe the main sequalae of the encounter was that (other than his "nice guy" personality) there's a crazy & creepy personality progressively growing in him.
At the name of Stephanie Bodger comes barging in
So we find out it is canon that Bonecaller STILL gets sick at the sight of zombies :DD
Better stick to properly sanitized skeletons, buddy
The apostrophe wasn't errant. the gentleman's name was Travis Urkel. When the middle of his name went missing, his only comment was "Did I do that?"
A pamphlet! She made a pamphlet!😂😂😂 🤣
When I heard woke up covered in blood in the middle of the forest, I immediately thought werewolf.
You know, one day, there is going to be a misread on those eye gestures. You're going to see Horatio and Sneaki running from the guards. Sneaki is going to have money in 1 hand and a bloody dagger in the other. All this while Horatio yells, I wanted you to BRIBE him! Not STAB him. Just imagine the look on the Magistrates' face as the 2 explain how they didn't kill him. We were just minding our own business asking directions from a vampire we meet while looking for their friend who lives in a bottle.
14:06 Rob, you are such a fantastic actor.
That backstory for the orc was amazingly emotional improv. Loved it. I sometimes listen in the background, but I stopped everything for that, cudos to all players and Rob, what a scene.
yeah, its amazing when he does it at the table. you get sucked in.
If you like that serious drama this campaign has a lot more down the road. A great Tale!
Lmao "is this what i sounded like?" Every VA revisiting characters
