Honestly the fact that Fargrom has like 50 brothers explains his accomplishments as they probably all worked together.
don´t forget *identical* brothers 😂
there were probably more but they very likely died in battle
That makes sense. Especially if xp were divided between like two hundred of them. You know what? It's head canon.
@@splatninja9447 The Argrim brothers were originally just one dwarf baby born to a dwarf mother, but as soon as the baby was born a dark wizard named Gredualo The Wise (this video's main villain) convineiently walked by and thinking this would be funny, cast a spell on the baby, this cloned it many times, thus the Argrim Brothers were given very similiar names and collectivally raised by their clan, eventually due to being clones of an original they are cursed to share the same abilities and think much alike, they formed their own group the Tusk Breakers and did all Targrim at the start claimed he was known for, though these accomplishments always boiled down to "Hit it till it dies!!!" Eventually they went seperate ways, though as Targim met other adventurers in a Tavern after recieving a letter, he would die pathetically at the teeth of a simple rat, after that fate would be cruel by having several of his bothers one by one die and another would take his place. And that Dark Wizard that cursed them to be this way, completley forgot what he had done 1 hour later after casting the spell.
Lol what if they all just accomplished 1 thing, as they died the rest just took on the fallen ones title and accomplishments
I think it's brilliant that the Goliath barbarian is questioning how things work due to how ridiculous he finds it, and is thus considered to have low intelligence.
Glad that came across!
Weird. I thought that was the player, not the character. Like the reverse if Rowans character.
I think the true brilliance comes from the awareness of your fans and like the fact that they can tell you that and also that you can respond in kind, what a world we live in, my goodness! Lord of the rings.
Which actor is playing the barbarian? Is it Alan or someone else? It's bugging me that I can't tell.. plus who's playing the female orc chieftain? Is that Ellie?
@@beanshady I believe the Barbarian is a new actor. The orc I am not sure.
“Look, I didn’t interrupt your shitty little boring story, did I?”
He literally did
We couldn't have done it without their perception check.
@@DarthTwilight It's a shame that your passive perception wasn't enough for you to notice that your glibness does you no credit.
no shit sherlock
@@theknitbyHe's a bard, he gets bonus exp for being glib.
I always loved the irony that Rowan is the rules lawyer in these skits just because of how much of the rules and abilities he forgets when playing at the table.
It's definitely for those who have watched their DnD campaigns.
Fargrim is the kind of character that one of your friends who is extremly new to D&D creates lol
you mean Targrim
Ptargrim (the "P" is silent)
I imagine there is a big Targum somewhere that actually did these deeds, and there’re all defective simulacrums that think they are real.
@@sidecharacter7165 ah yes explains why he keeps dying, lack of spell slots
@@sidecharacter7165 this is now my head cannon
The identical brothers running gag made me laugh every time!
that took me back to dorkness rising
They took nurse joy and officer Jenny to a new level lol
lmfao and the slight name changes 😭
Ya mean, Drakeness Raisin?
it is exactly how it goes, too. lmao
(also: he is such a phenomenal actor. 10/10 mastered the art of hamming it up)
“What i lack in experience, i make up for in enthusiasm” is such an underrated joke.. i dunno if i should feel sad for robs partner or cautiously optimistic.. rofl
This works on two levels because that's the mentality any level 1 character should have. They're a rookie. They've got no experience. This is what you'd put on a resume as a newbie adventurer!
@@silverblade357 I got told by my employer months after been hired, I lacked experience, had nothing going for me, except my enthusiasm, and enthusiastic attitude, and that's the only reason they had actually hired me. The upside was, I turned out to be one of the most dedicated to the job, one of the only ones that never calls in sick, and they consider it was a good decision
@@ZIGMER I don’t really understand this “call in sick” parameter from USA companies. If you are sick, you are sick. It’s mostly random.
It's the absolute best person to have at a table (I'm a dm) Because new players can't role play. if their character is new and enthusiastic it's because they are new and enthusiastic and I couldn't ask for more from the rookies
I’m not referring to dnd at all. I’m referring to the innuendo. The extra layer in the dnd joke. “Adult humour” you often find in kids movies. Especially ones like shrek.
I love how Ben's character is supposed to the key to the story but is completely clueless but the barbarian has a total grasp on the situation.
Love that Rowan of all people is the rules lawyer in this 🤣
I love that Rowan's manager personality is a dwarf. I liiiiteralllly cannot think of anything funnier.
@@khaleesiamde6215 he's a Dwarf??? Bullshit
There is a sense to it. He gets to tell others they are wrong. Seems Rowany.
I love that I learned sonething new in the Rules lawyer skit
Rob explained that the hardest part of that entire skit was explaining the ruling so Rowan could understand it. Because he was not getting it, at all.
Head cannon : the reason all the identical siblings can boast such feats is that there are just so many of them they overwhelmed the creatures they claimed to have beaten
They*'re not actually siblings, that's just the cover story. They're actually clones. The real Targrim the Great died centuries ago, but his magic was so powerful, and his engineering so perfect, that his machinations still work to this day; like his Cloning Device.
Time has made the fresh Clones a little wonky, but they just keep on growing.
No, you mean head canon, a head cannon would probably kill you from the recoil.
Yeah the top comment from a year before yours says the same thing...
And that's all (for season 1), folks! If you wanna see us play D&D for real, come over to our second channel here! ^^
What is the source for the official rules? I know very little about D&D, so these are kinda like tutorials for me. Great costume design VLDL and pleasant friendships!
@@TheRemmell You're looking for the Player's Handbook (PHB). I agree VLDL is killing it with the costume design, and their jokes are just as great. The identical twin brother bit never fails to make me laugh.
D&D is the perfect home for you guys!
Rob is the judge, Love it.
Been waiting for the next one
I'm convinced Ben can play any character, the hero, the crazy person, the clueless one. 😁
The romantic lead, the villain.
And… the dark souls player
He is a damn versatile actor!
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD Damn right he is!
It’s so at odds with his other characters I didn’t actually realize that was Ben until I saw this comment and figured it out by process of elimination.
Rogue breaking character because of the loot table and having to pay out for a rope they broke is an absolute truth and I'm so glad to have seen it happen live action.
True. First thing I noticed playing(late '70's, early '80's{yes, I'm old}), people got sentimentally attached to items they first acquired(bag of holding, etc.) early on, and got, ah, emphatic(?), when the items are lost, destroyed, broken, misused...
I love that Fargim's name kept changing even when we didn't see him die, implying that he died during several more unseen sessions.
I was expecting the Reveal episode to be against a necromancer and Ptargrim's twenty or more dead brothers.
I love how Rowan is the rules lawyer but in VLDL DND everyone is always making fun of him for never remembering the rules haha
Rob said the hardest part of Rules Lawyer was getting Rowan to remember his lines *while he was holding the PHB*
@DTOM wait really?
What's funny is I had just clicked over from a video "D&D Rules everyone gets wrong", and this is one of them. XD So if the other video is right... Rowan got it wrong anyway.
@@Creshosk
Tbh even more fitting since rule lawyers aren’t even always correct
I like watching this series because it makes me go “ha ha, D&D” while I procrastinate on setting up the next session of my campaign.
I have been watching whislt waiting for the hiatus on our Dark Heresy to end.
@keep rollin I know you’re dropping this in the replies of every comment, but it’s actually pretty relevant here.

The fact that barbarian, who's stereotypically usually has the lowest intelligence, makes the most logical decisions, is very innovative and hilarious
Fallout does this joke a couple times where babbling moron characters come across as eloquent if you roll low intelligence.
It was an amazing series. The wizard brother's death whines were to die for
I don't always simp, but when I do, its for Phoenix Cross faking a french accent while wearing a leather corset and rapier

It’s fun spotting the bits from their D&D campaigns that inspired some of the jokes 😂
Wait..so are these characters their own dnd characters?? Thats pretty cool

Mad respect to the orc lady, who was audible despite those teeth and also had to carry them not only for every skit but also everything, that probably ended as an out-take.
Whoever played the Goliath is my new favorite actor
I love that the BBEG at the Big Reveal is a character significantly linked to a player who has no memory of him.
The GM get frustrated and gives up the RP and says "Forget it, roll initiative."
That's WAY too common! So relatable!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 "Tall mysterious and hooded," and the dwarf cuts in with the purpose of a giant. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love how Rob is normally the dm but Is one of the adventures in this campaign
The last skit, *Hiatus* , leaves open a really great cliffhanger for season 2.
After watching you guys for like half a decade, seeing the evolution, expansion, and overall growth of this channel. I can proudly say I'm a huge fan, you all deserve the success and I love every single one of your videos.
I love the idea of fargrom having 1 brother for each level.
Ah the legend of Fargrim and all of his identical brothers.
5:57 'I'll get up in a moment'
man the way this was said made me laugh out loud.
one of the few channels where quality is standard!
Don't hate me, but I've never played D&D before (not much of a roleplayer), but this series definitely has made me appreciate it a lot beyond being "just an RP boardgame".
Check out footage of Baldur's gate three as it seems like a good entry to how it works.
@@lanceareadbharHaving played it for a month, it definitely helps.
I love how Targrim dies every time 😂. it's this version of " 'mornin, nice day for fishing ain't it? hu ha"
I love all the characters in this series but have to say alphabet-grim quickly became my favorite.
Alphabet-grim. Nice.
I liked the Pfolngrim the most, sad he ripped so quickly
Failing forward. =D
Showing these skits to my friends (even the 3.5 purists) was so fun. We all laughed, there were many moments we said “yeah, that’s how it is”, and it was just fun.
Exactly wjat I was hoping for!
3.5 was the peak esp due to my crew back when it came out
I always disagree with the rules lawyer about shaleili - the half orc could never have let go of the staff because she never was allowed to start casting heal in the first place
"Shillelagh" is the spelling.
It's also why I Home rule that you can cast "up to one leveled spell on your turn" to help simplify it ^.^ Also found it hilarious that Rowan cam in with "Ready action" for the rogue cause it was what was going through my head as they argued about "not my turn" ^.^
@@xyvazkrown8048 i think it was Alan who said “Rogue takes ready uo”
@@connorgonzalez4023 Thank you.
Attempt was made, get out of here with those scrub excuses
I can't get over how much the Barbarian reminds me of a young John Cleese.
The part about the player who wrote the biggest backstory forgetting everything tied to said backstory and everything that’s happened in the game so far is a legitimate pain. I personally has to CONSTANTLY remind people, especially the people who are already thinking about their next ten characters.
Love the chemistry of the rogue and the orc
Hope season two has these awesome characters meet the awesome characters from the NPC D&D. Just in passing. Love, love, love both and this is an amazing series. 🍻
We definitely need more of this series! It is amazing. And even more funny, if you are an p&p rpg player yourself :D
Rowan plays my fav rowan character here. Still punchable but hilarious with his rule lawyering
I don't even play D&D and I love everything about this. The cast, the story, the cast, the production values, the cast. I just really love the cast.
Watched this for Vlagrum! He’s hilarious. Need to build his part/involvement in future stuff
He reminds me of Robin Williams... he's a great actor
Crunch's 'player' is the sort that used to drive me crazy. 'Like, dude... you're 'in' the game, pay attention to what's going on.
Tagrim's player would be the one who took a long time to learn his lessons but... hey, he's at least aware of what's going on.
This is parody to perfection.
The enemies of the combat being included in the court was gold
I absolutely love the Rule's Lawyer because every party has one or two.
They keep the gameplay honest. I'm impressed that they actually used valid cases from 5e though. They're explicitly correct readings of the rules which get glossed over frequently too. Without a couple solid rules lawyers to cut them off, the munchkins will turn your campaign into personal jerkoff sessions.
@@CtrlAltRetreat Yes and No, While a rule's lawyer can raise an objections, It is the DM which is the arbitrator and in my opinion the one which ensures the session does not (how did you say) turn into a jerkoff session.
Fagrim and his idential brothers
Tagrim
Hargim
Margim
Bargim
Lagrim
Zlagrim
Ptargrim (The P is silent)
Are my favourite!
H M and B are not clear if they died on screen or it's just different pronouciations of one name. I'm pretty sure they were dying off screen though XD.
seeing the barbarian be friendly and talk normally was a trip lmao
428am, raining, and this pops up...couldn’t be more happier. Thank you for the night cap. And the laughs,
Hope everyone has a most excellent day.🍻
You guys always roll a nat 20 before each video, only way to explain how amazing you all are.
Phoenix Cross and Tameka Sowman Vahatau are both gorgeous, just gotta openly simp
The Goliath and the rogue are my favourites, a pity Britt kind of disappears in the later episodes but I guess it's hard to get the full party something to do each episode.
Here's hoping there will be many more seasons and I hope everyone will return for those too.
That cursed book really fucked up her character, I guess.
No Britt no watch
I'm sure I mentioned this on some of the individual videos as well, but the music for each scene is so perfectly chosen! It is amazing to me that you managed to get 30 minutes of REALLY good content filmed in only three shoot days. You all are so impressive and talented.
I watched every episode when it came out individually, but I love the supercut even more! It just has a great flow. This is so fun to watch.
The rope scene. The level of pettiness. XD Im dying!
I love how you have Alan as the DM
The rope thing was petty as hell, but they're screwing over the rogue so it's fine!
I love seeing the kickstarter add. I checked it, and the community KILLED IT! Well done, everyone, I can't wait to see what they do with that kind of funding. This is going to be EPIC.
Core channel members: Britt Scott Clark, Ben, Alen, phenix, Adam, Rowan, Ellie, and last but nowhere near least Rob the fantastic Dungeon Master. Masters of your trade. Absolutely astounding!
Chu fuckey nasshole! You're forgetting byron, byron has been there since the beginning
Can you tell me who is playing the bald blue guy and who Ellie playing as?
Byron's acting is just next level haha what a guy
That dwarf sure has a lot of identical brothers lol
I like how Rowan wasted his whole turn just to lecture the rogue on readying an action 😂
-not my turn skit
pretty sure he shot a guy on his turn.
He told her, then showed her. He took his turn lol.
Need an episode with a luck/bad luck or a fumble for Targrim obviously (sorry if i missspell the name) where we can see the actual giant dice crushing him :v
The P is silent
At this rate, even if you spell the name wrong, it'll end up right for one of the Brothers Grim.
As long as you get the grim part right any spelling is right for alphabet-grim.
My first campaign I was a Dwarf Warlock and I crit failed an attack and critical hit myself in the face with my axe. I did actually survive, but I definitely didn't live it down. We laughed about it for the rest of the campaign pretty much.
I love this final "roll for initiative" xD
Hours after watching this, I am bursting into laughter at the sound of *algrim screaming after being hit.
Fargroms first death reminds me of how a squirrel did more damage to the lich than my entire party. This squirrel ripped his head off
I have never played D&D but I still watch every video

I'm so happy you guys made a super cut of this. I didn't get all the notifications and had missed them. I love your guys work.
I gotta good feeling about Ptargrim the Great's chances in season 2.
I hope we'll see more of this!
Did I develop a crush on an green skinned Orc with tusks, that I didn't know I needed or had untill watching these. Yes, yes I did, and I'm ok with that.
Ovak is awesome! Hope to see more of her in future skits!
This is a great new series. Hope it gets a season 2. Would love to see the players at a table at least one episode.
I once rolled 9 20s in a row, the DM thought I was using a cheat die, asked to roll it, and rolled 3 1's in a row, then I rolled it again and it was a 19, and everyone was like "RPGER GAINS GODLY LUCK" XD
This all actually comes together really well and makes more sense as a supercut.

I really hope they write several seasons for this show, it’d awesome! I love all of these characters, and you guys’ acting is great!
Half orc is my fav character in this series. She rocks !
The cutting the rope scene was pure gold!
The mighty Kraken killer, being killed by a rat is the best.
30 minutes of joy, thank you VLDL!
gotta admit, the make up and prosthetics in this is $%^&ing great. i cant even recognize half the actors even WITH their voices.
The way that this ends, with the Barbarian saying "Oh... that's right." Was played flawlessly. Tone of voice, posture, facial expression - everything about that snippet was absolutely perfect. Despite the context it made my brain immediately start bouncing through a dozen or more different story ideas... all of them as cool as the last. He really can pull off a "makeup villain" if he can maintain that demeanor for a feature length film.
His expression showed, very quickly, in the time it took him to say three short words, confusion, consternation, fear, and foreboding. It tells you, without needing the words, that all of his friends are about to die. The _way_ that he delivered that short, simple statement was a flawless mix of sudden understanding, and in equal parts the realization that he had made a horrifying mistake.
The fact that this happened, without the intent to do so, immediately shifted everything from half an hour of laughter and fun - to a sobering tone of dread. It felt like the very start of an epic, but terrible, story to come. Absolutely astounding.
I love the joke about the turn based fighting I mean aside from the fact that in d&d each round of fight is 6 seconds in universe
The cast for this is so great!!! all of you did such an incredible job
Such high quality stuff, absolutely love your work guys and gals 🔥🔥
yall really need to bring this back it was so good and the work you put into it was amazing
The French rogue just telling the Ork to move has me dead.
"I, unlike you guys, can survive alone", says Zlagrim the 'who-knows-how-manieth' identical brother of Fargrim, who had to replace the previous wizard that died in way less dangerous situations. Bro, you can't even survive "with" them, your chances without them aren't even 0% lol 😂EDIT: Demokas' "bish, what?" face after that line just killed me 🤣
Though, that's what I like about this part. Almost all newbie Wizards think they're the sh*t because of some cool spells and overestimate themselves; but what they don't get is that a) those spells are limited in their preparations and daily uses, and b) Wizards are still glass cannons that die easily. It's nice to see these problems represented in a series. Love these guys
♥
Lol "glass cannons."
Perfect description for wizards, must remember it!
The orc flip was amazing. That's a talented acrobat they hired!
Fargrim is actually a great character. They are all duplicates from a powerfull long death wizard with all the memories but barerly the power. His power is that he has multiple clones to replace after a death. Witch is pretty strong if you ask me
I always thought of it as the characters getting healed by the cleric during a long rest or say if you have a ranger then he forages for herbs to heal with etc
Can't get enough of this, epic!
This serie is so much fun. Great job! :)
