Arthur Lee - Andmoreagain - live - Forever Changes Tour 2003

- Arthur Lee took his road band and an orchestra out for a tour showcasing Love's 60's magnum opus Forever Changes in 2003. I was lucky enough to catch him two nights in a row in 2002, and he was great. Kinda like getting to see Jimi Hendrix tour behind Electric Ladyland 5 years ago (they recorded an album together in 1970 and Arthur is acknowledged to have inspired the former Little Richard sideman's hippy ways). Sadly Arthur died last year of Leukemia.

One of the greatest 60s rock bands ever, have all their records and play them often, just a great song from a great time in the 60s
Ron Johnson me too!
Ohhhh YES !
forever changes is the best album ever.

Mine and Robert Plants and Rolling Stone (crap magazine though) top 40.

So glad that I caught him live in concert. The best music ever!!!
is the kind of song you never get tired of hearing,
Arthur Lee for me, was and remains a genius, even
remaining in the underground today.
their music and the album Forever Changes
are sublime for me and one of the best album ever made.
Such a talent
RIP Arthur Lee
I have just recently discovered this album, after hearing about it from others for many years. At first, I thought: this is interesting, however after repeated listens, this has really grown on me. Especially this song in particular, which has a beautiful melody, great words, and soul stirring singing from Arthur on it. Amazing that during the 30 + years I have listened to music that I have never heard any of these songs anywhere. It is almost like I've just been let in to a secret society. In my opinion, Forever Changes stands up to any of the great albums that came out that year. Awesome!
Well, you're not wrong! I've listened to Forever Changes intermittently since it was first released (I knew the previous albums already) and it still sounds quite unlike anything else. I'm new to these late performances though - they're really wonderful and don't sound in the least churned out by rote to make a buck - completely heartfelt. Poignant indeed that he probably knew he didn't have long left to live.
+Mike Randle Music that's authentically magic-borne.
In my 20s, I got a psychedelic years CD set and Alone Again Or was on it. I liked it so much, I bought a couple of Love CDs, one being Forever Changes. It is one of my favourite albums of all time.
It’s probably the best album ever recorded in the history of rock music It’s definitely the most original I’ve heard them all Yes I am an old hippy
you mean that year 1967 ? I would say among the thousands of records of popular music, except classical, I have or have listened to it is clearly in the Top 5 !!!
Absolutely LOVE this song, Arthur Lee was a legend!!!
Forever Changes was and still is one of my favourite Albums.
Love were truly innovative and progressive their Music was way beyond their time.
Sadly missed.
this is one of the greatest songs of the 60's , just brilliant.
WHAT A GREAT WRITER AND COMPOSER ONE OF THE BEST BANDS OUT OF LA
Wonderful.. Beautiful rendition of a Legendary song by a Legendary Performer... Sublime stuff!
Gracias a mí padre descubrí Love y esta es una de mis canciones favoritas de todos los tiempos
He would be gone in 3 years. What a talent.Grew up with the Love Records.THIS STUFF NEVER GETS OLD ...Rest Easy Arthur, .....
He would be gone in months
I was 18 when I saw Love at the Grande in Detroit. I'd heard all of their records and loved them. I was innocent, but I'd boozed & drugged enough to know that Arthur was better than anyone else. This song encompasses the pain of young heartbreak, without being dumb. The Beatles & Stones can take a walk. Arthur kicked their asses. DC
DA Clifford It's not a competition. Arthur and Love were great. So were the Beatles
+DA Clifford maybe 1970 ish at the Grande...he sure sounded different than this...more like Living Color
Never seen anybody better live than him......the Beatles.....the Rolling stones... Nothing on him, I agree....although Janis Joplin is way up there with him for totally different reasons.
15... Front row Huntington Beach. AL was off stage smoking "reefer". We were all naive but came around lol . Brilliant
Bought it first time round - still a favourite, timeless.
Saw him at liquid rooms in Edinburgh 2003,great gig and atmosphere! 🎶🎸
prettiest song forever
I was lucky to run to the store for all my Love LP's as they were released.... Arthur Lee and Bryan Maclean, Johnny Echols, Ken Forssi, Snoopy....The original LOVE....When Forever Changes came out they had gone to the greatness that only Elektra artists could achieve with superior recordings...Bruce Botnick thank you too!!!
I love this band
It was Arthur Lee who recommended The Doors to the Elektra label. ALL of us listened to Love ... they didn't tour much, but, when they did, we came out in droves to see them. Just the best! Better than Springfield; Airplane; all of them. Everyone knew it.
Breathtaking…
So witty and wise withe the word! Elocution, phrasing, etc.
i was stationed in neu ulm germany in 1969 when i heard this song,i still listen to them, along with quick silver messenger service
Pure Love.
Wow! Great sound and Arthur Lee's voice is strong despite the horrible disease he was enduring. Again, wow!
Wow what a great performance!
Oh my god...how beautiful was Arthur Lee?? 😭😭
Beautiful
What a genius he was!! Such beautiful melodies!!
Such a vibrant performer, Arthur T. Lee
His voice was still strong. Until the end
Oh my!!! Thank you forever for this!!!❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕🙏
It's wonderful to hear his voice solo----I love LOVE and wouldn't ever want to give up "Forever Changes", but this really gives the song a new dimesion. Thanks for sharing.
Love is the right name , genius talent
I just discovered this very talented artist and it's making my day !
Amazing, Legend Arthur Lee
I was lucky to see the band many times around 66-69 at a place called The "Teen Beat Club" located in Las Vegas. This is back when he never wanted to stray far from LA, his comfort zone. I know he liked us and the vib he felt when he visited and played. I and all there where always blown away each and every time! Thanks guys....
So glad I didn't miss that tour
I saw him 2 nights in a row. He even smiled at me for a brief moment.
@@mateusworld1740 Where at ?
Williamsburg Brooklyn 2002
Just FANTASTIC! Arthur Lee's voice is just as strong in 2003 as ever! Wonderful performance, have always been one of the finest rock bands of the 60's. Amazing show! I saw them in early 80's in SF.
I saw Arthur Lee and Love on Dutch TV somewhere in the early seventies (or late sixties, I don't remember exactly), in the original line up, they were brilliant! Especially Da Capo and Forever Changes are on my favourites list ever since.
fucking gorgeous
A true legend
Sounds just like the album. Brilliant.
Outstanding ...
This song is beautiful, Arthur Lee will ALWAYS stand for ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE.............I really miss him.

Great! Brilliant! Simply fabulous!
Yes, a masterpiece! This song has seen me through many a day...
omg. Forever Changes, hands down the MOST UNDERRATED and conversely, the one of the best rock albums of the past century, including this band! Seminal, beautifully melodic...thought provoking and clever.
i am fortunate to have seen some of the post prison performances , including the first Knitting Factory show . i also feel entitled to brag i was at a LOVE show at Hulluballoo Concert 1966 !
I was 15 when I heard LOVE then came Forever Changes and at 62 now I still love this timeless sound.
Sublime! 😎👌⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A commanding general sir Arthur is over everybody in his presence!!!
Спасибо за настроение,Артур!)
loved them
So pleased to have seen him / them live several times. Actually to hear the album is fine also. BEAUTY
Disturbingly good.
heaven
Love AndMoreAgain
it's incredible that Arthur Lee might actually been better live even in his 50's than in studio... sounds incredible here. He lived a rough life and had got out of a 5 yr prison term two yrs prior and to think he actually died of cancer three yrs later... RIP.
He did, 2006. R.I.P Robert Plant helped arrange benefit concert for his hospital care.
This is great!
Was 16 when I got this album and have two albums, two CD'S, had two 8 tracks that wore out, and recorded many onto cassette. Have all today except the 8 tracks. The best band and album ever.
took me a while to get into love and arthur but now im hooked, beautiful song
Thanks JJ for pointing me to this, Tx
THIS SONG IS ABOUT ARTHUR'S GIRLFRIEND AT THE TIME ANNE MORGAN!! ORANGE SKIES WAS ALSO WRITTEN ABOUT HER AS WELL!!
Bryan MacLean wrote Orange Skies... when he was 17 years old, before Love was formed.
Edit: Just noticed your comment was made a year ago. :)
I did not know that...makes complete sense to me now!
hell yes
A real masterpiece! I'm speechless...
bless you guys for catching on... arthur lee was the man! he was awful sometimes to his crew, but like someone wrote elsewhere in this tract, 'surely this is the music of heaven'. I am 58, and cannot live without this album, love records. p.s. I am in a band still, and I do a few love songs myself still
Saw this tour - Brighton Dome - remember it very well !
the moat underrated artist in rock story. just he did creted love and peace philosophy and hippy living way. he so great like BEATLES and STONES and BOB DYLAN; Rest In Peace ARTHUR LEE.

How someone can dislike this? Dont understand...
How lucky I was to have caught this tour...
love this. such a pity i never got to see him live. when i first heard this song, i thought he was saying ann morgan.
Yes very underated, The out sold the beatles at one time.
I was lucky to see them a few years bak in london. just pure chance i got tickets. i quit my job cos my boss wouldn't let me have it off.
Great legend with the others !
Respect. Quitting work.
Wow...he sounds great for being as old as he was when this was performed
Yes, I echo your sentiments..... very much so.
if you dont get chills listening to this you must be dead, awesome
Fantástico
Wow, is he in great voice.
I think it should be touted and spoke on in the same breath as sgt. pepper or even a pet sounds, etc. The notoriety today, BECAUSE it didn't receive the credit it deserved back then, thus leaving it a "buried tresure", seems more nostalgic rather than being iconic in nature. Although it's a gem of an album, music-snobs or afficianados seem to know more about it, compared to the mainstream audience.
What Bob Dylan said about Gordon Lightfoot songs kind of sums it up for Love, too: you wish they would go on forever.
וואו איזה ביצוע
There are 4 thumb downs and I just can't figure that out.
Perhaps they're deaf...
I wish I'd got my sh*t together to go and see him on that tour. I saw him in Slough (of all places) in 1974, but the concert was terrible (he was a bit off his head, I think).
This was more like it ...
did hard time too! Christ what a mixed up world...RIP Arthur...
Check out the greatest (!?) 60’s pop album that was never released, which has been uploaded as a Playlist on my Channel! It’s the duo Smokey and his Sister and their complete Columbia recordings.
If you like sixties pop at its best, with a touch of a baroque and harmony style, Smokey and his Sister is sure the group for you! Their beautiful melodies are surrounded by sublime string arrangements and other instruments, that lift the songs to an even higher level. Not to mention their brilliant harmonies!
@elleboucher Andmoreagain was written by Arthur Lee and Bryan MacLean...It was sung by Arthur. MacLean performed the lead vocal on Old Man...
highly recommended collectors edition 2 cd of forever changes from last year elektra and rhino did justice on this classic peace Bean68
RIP
