- On January 16, 2024, I was in Bangor when I heard over the scanner that NM-1 was recrewing an outlawed L072 at Veazie. Having run later in the evening to Mattawamkeag, the night crew was not able to make it back to Hermon before their shift ended, so NM-1 was tasked with bringing the train the last 10 miles into the yard. I shot them at Bangor before heading west to look for the eastbound, which we would find rolling out of Waterville yard. Shooting them at the Kennebec River bridge, we would bounce back and shoot Sappi coming onto the mainline at Fairfield before regrouping with L071 and chasing them to Hermon. All the while, a mild snowstorm was moving in, making for some neat shots. I hope you enjoy!

Great video! That was a nice snow, not a heavy snowfall rate but a nice reminder that winter has it's grip on Maine.
We were in the area 1/23/2024, but missed the LO71 from Northern Maine to Waterville until we reached Fairfield /Waterville East! Thanks for sharing the Bangor area a few days before us!
Always nice seeing a D&H hopper at 17:41 rolling along.
Wonder what the flashing light you can see in 305s cab is
My first thought was one of those non-communicating EOT's, I just don't know why they didn't turn it off.
Does L071 run to Hermon then L072 pick up the train and take it to Mattawamkeag? Or does L071 take their train to Mattawamkeag then L072 takes another pair of cars and takes it back to Waterville?
Just cause I'm going to Bangor in February
L071 turns with the westbound from the day prior and returns to Waterville. A separate crew, L072 takes the eastbound to Keag and turns.
