- Israeli strikes have targeted the southern city of Khiam in Lebanon for a second consecutive day.
This comes after overnight attacks on the town of Shebaa in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army says its warplanes targeted several Hezbollah sites.
Intensified cross-border fire between Israeli and Hezbollah forces has increased fears of a full-scale war.
Al Jazeera’s Assed Baig has the latest from Marjayoun in southern Lebanon.

During the last war between Hezbollah and Israel, Hezbollah was begging for a ceasefire. The USA played a big roll to mediate and the war ended after many diplomatic appeal to Israel. This time the USA does not want to be involved. The question is, who will really be there this time around to cry for a ceasefire on behalf of Hezbollah once the show starts?
