Yeah, stand up has to be one of the hardest things to do, mentally anyway. As someone with anxiety, I can't even imagine dealing with and eventually getting over bombing on stage. It's gotta be brutal.
I think it depends on your mindset. Before I bombed I thought it would feel horrible (and it does) but I remember the first time I bombed I just started thinking how funny it was that it wasn’t going well and if you can just be positive like that and laugh at yourself the audience usually actually comes back around and laughs with you if you’re not a tool.

Oh that’s awesome I didn’t know Tom knew “Neil Hamburger” (aka Gregg Turkington)--I’ve saw him two nights in a row a few years ago with Duncan Trussell, I love Gregg with Tim Heidecker and Decker vs Dracula with James Dean, Tom Swayze, EsteveZ, Travolta’s brother...it’s SO funny.

I can’t stand the Neil Hamburger character, but GODDAMN, Gregg is so funny. His chemistry with Tim is like no other. On Cinema and Decker are some of the greatest, most underrated surreal comedy.

I was in a voice chat with a couple of Americans who were talking about meeting up and getting Taco Bell.

Unless the comic pulls a Micheal Richards and starts yelling racist stuff at people I won’t ever boo a comic off stage. The guts it takes to go up on stage and even tell one joke is hard enough. I may not laugh but I won’t ever boo them. I tried open mic night one time and I wasn’t funny. But the pressure you get when you go up there is tremendous and you brake out in a cold sweat. I really think anyone who has the guts to do that I could never boo.
I saw Rogan at the Comedy Store once and he killed it. Then he introduced a surprise guest. It was Chapelle. Obviously Dave murdered the room. Then after that Byron Bowers came on and fucking murdered the room. Mad respect and life fan for that dude after that shit.
