Successful Obese Americans - YMH Highlight

- Tom Segura and Christina P. get into expressing how much they loved Sicario 2 with Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro, which made them realize, Benicio's really letting himself go! The epiphany brought them to the question: How do leading men who have past their primes keep getting starring roles in huge Hollywood movies? At what point does the magic disappear? They bring up pictures of Marlon Brando and Orson Welles and compare their best selves to their worst and it’s not pretty. Do men get away with staying in the limelight longer than actresses in the same situation?
This then leads them to an article called “The Most Successful Obese Americans,” which turns out to be just as insane and vain as it sounds. Some of the people on the list make sense, like Chris Christie, but some are ridiculous, like Kevin James, Steven Ballmer, and Kevin Smith, who are either not that big, or currently in decent shape. No one on the list was as huge as Bert Kreischer, which demonstrates exactly how much credibility this article has: NONE. Was their anyone on the list that should have been included? Let us know in the comments!

Christina calling obese guys much less fat than Tom a few years ago "superfat pigs" LOL
Mr. Tulip I miss the Tom Tom days.
Yeah, that was odd (I'll go for the bad pun and call it the elephant in the room...). While not quite the Moby Dick levels of fatness Brando reached, Tom was almost as obese as near death Gandolfini or may be even Welles like 2 years ago; he claims he was 260ish at his heaviest but I think it was more like 280-285. And, without a doubt, Tom was significantly fatter than Kevin James not long ago and she's calling him a "fatso" repeatedly. (Christina slimmed down between the babies and looked very good so I'll give her some credit there.) I have two pictures with Tom from when I went to his stand up shows, one while he was obese and one while he had lost most of the weight from about a year ago. It really looks like a different person. And, finally, Steve Ballmer is pretty fat. They were way off there.
The elephant in the room? She's not saying they are fatter than Tom. She's saying that there's a double standard where fat guys can have starring roles and when a fat woman is put on screen people freak out. She's not allowed to point that out because she's married to a fat guy?
Tom is like an anomaly. Hes' like the most handsome fat guy ever.
Her general argument was obvious, it wasn’t hard to grasp...but it’s also bullshit to repeatedly insult guys who were just as rotund as Tom a few years ago as "fat fucking slobs," “fatsos," "fat pigs", "haggard," “looking like shit,” "whales," etc. when she used to tell Tom he looked great on the podcast as he was approaching 300 pounds. This means she was openly lying to her own husband if that's her standard for attractiveness; you can certainly argue that the body isn't all that makes a person attractive (and on that I'd agree with you) but she's the one here who's boiling it down to a matter of solely weight. You honestly don't see why that's super hypocritical? And, before you say, "well, Tom's not a leading man," Christina refers to it as "our business" early in the video...meaning they both should be held to such standards (no matter how unjust she thinks they are) while in the industry and, if that's not what she wants, she should stop complaining about it and do something else for a living--no one fucking forced either of them into this career. Finally, if Tom had done a similar segment with pics of Melissa McCarthy, Octavia Spencer, Rosie O'Donnell, Mo'Nique, Ann Dowd, Roseanne, Rebel Wilson, Margo Martindale, Amy Schumer, etc., he would be absolutely crucified and would likely suffer consequences in terms of his career (at least in the short term).
I love the fact Bert is in the thumbnail even though he isn’t in the list😂😂😂
#BertKriester’sFat
Benecio really delves into the character he is playing. He put on over 80 lbs to play Dr. Gonzo in Fear and Loathing, then lost the weight to play in Snatch, he played Che Guevera, was a monster in Savages, a cop in Traffic, he did the Wolfman, and played a great small role in Inherent Vice, and the Marvel movies, every role he takes he delivers. I think he’s underrated
How you gonna include the Wolfman in this list?
@@crispy7072 and not include Sin City?!?
Benecio could play me in a movie about my life better than I could
Don’t forget The Hunted with Tommy Lee Jones .
He was great in a limited series called "Escape at Dannemora" He was as scary as the actual guy probably was.
I think Benecio’s look is a part of his character.
They hire him for his acting and his look.
Yeah fo sho
@Owen Marble Nice first name bro 😉
I heard he never leaves character
Definitely in climax after the injury
Michael Moore is slowly turning into Rosie O'Donnel at the same time Rosie O'Donnel is turning into Michael Moore.
Sicario 2 was okay. Sicario 1 was MAGIC.
Kathy Bates. She doesn’t fit the traditional mold and look how successful she is.
But also have you seen her lately?? She's super stylish and chic! Her haircut is so cool and her clothes are still spot on.
@@pattyashley101 ...still fat a sloppier than a week old tuna casserole
@@mikebell7525 bro 😭
11:36 - Tom is nuts if he thinks “Bert’s always been fatter than John Goodman.” Bert’s top weight was 265. John’s was about 400. It’s obvious.
Tom: "He's a little worn."
When has Benico del Toro not looked a little worn?
Tom's face is hilarious when mommy says "I love my Puerto Ricans". 😂
That picture of Orson Welles just makes me happy tho.
The irony in this conversation is hilarious.
What irony? Christina's pregnant.
The lack of self awareness..Fattys calling people fat😂
That long ass burp to finish the video...priceless.
Is tom getting stressed because he may fall into the super fat category
Christina is being stupid here. Brando and Welles were amazing actors and that’s why no one cared about their looks. And she forgot that Kathy Bates is still working.
This is such quality. Thank you so much
Christina describing James Gandofini's weight was savage af ,🤣🤣🤣🤣
She called Brando a whalefu**.
Maybe they identify as skinny.
I love that Tom cares so much about the distinctions between different levels of fat, lol.
She's definitely exaggerating tbf
I hope bert gets down to ralphie may size so he'll be around a bit longer, but bert did already buy a custom stretch casket so we'll see how long not farley goes
Just reading the title and i already love it
Why hasn't Benecio del Toro ever been in any Tarantino movies?!
Great question!
The police lineup scene in The Usual Suspects is gold.
Binging Tom Segura clips and searched up this podcast right when it posted haha love you guys
You use Bing for something other than porn?
I remember seeing a clip where Christina was saying that women models cant be slightly chubby and how that's not what she wants to see. but now she complaining about the double standard in hollywood. weird
Ikr she’s such annoying bitch and saying these guys r sex symbols for the movies while the movies their talking about r about war, killing and the mafia they aren’t there to be drooled over
Modelling and acting are different professions
If Christina lost like 30-40 lbs she’d be a little hotter. Luv her smile
Damn Christina, you gotta give Marlon Brando and Orson Welles a pass. "They let them work" because they were frickin Marlon Brando and Orson Welles. Talent had just a little to do with their ability to 'keep working". You're being ridiculous.
Absolutely! Her comment irritates me as well.
🐋🐳
Benicio has literally always looked like that! one of the top 5 actors now
Christine is the most judgemental person out there. She's always pointing out peoples flaws in any possible situation. Who even notices how "heavy someones eyes" are?
LizardKing1324 health care professionals looking at signs of hypothyroidism
I think Blunt being so thin in Sicario versus the guys being fat pigs was part of creating the disparity between her "noobness" and their experienced jadedness... like Brolin's sandals - not about women having to be thin to be in movies.
R.I.P. Ralphie
She is gonna pop while recording LOL.
Difference here is that these male leads who continue getting roles are just good actors...they go from playing goodlooking young male leads to just older, fatter roles...don't understand how there's any double standard...plenty of older, unattractive women get roles...there's usually a need for a wide variety of characters in movies haha...not her best argument...
I know right? I wish tom would have brought that up.
Older woman are grandmas and never dating hotter younger guys unlike male older men do try and keep up
Male leads get to be fat because it's okay to make fun of them. Making fun of fat chicks is seen as more mean spirited.
And why is that
@@coreyS33 I don't know about that, from the dawn of times men have abused women because of their superior strength. I would say it is more serious to call a woman fat because women who are not beautiful are seen as valueless.
@@angelararara6350 not since the dawn of time, but at the dawn of time maybe that was true. There has been evolution though.
@@coreyS33 you've forgot about domestic violence and rape. There has been evolution regarding society teaching men to not do these things and restrain men individual power towards women.
@@angelararara6350 and what's the percentage of the population committing domestic violence and rape? You wouldn't be using tiny anomalies to prove a point that gives you perpetual victimhood status, would you?
Tom’s co-host was big before they met, and has only gotten way bigger since.
She's pregnant.
Michael Moore...looks like he's transitioning HAHAHA
Benicio Del Toro is on a Steven Seagal diet.
Love the videos guys!!!!
I’d like to see any one of these guys, who I love, read off of cue cards at Brandos level in AN.. if you can do that and it comes across as acting of that caliber you deserve to still work in that industry imo.
Benicio really changes his look. Check him in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas then The Usual Suspects.
landscaper1975 oh check him out in that movie that came out 2 decades ago no shit he is going to look different
They have to be trolling bert. He's like 5 pounds heavier than tom lol
I think some people don't get their sarcasm
Best place to cut a clip of all time
Bert and Ralphie are neck and neck😂😂😂
Tom performing an experiment on Christina to make him feel less insecure lol
The writer of Sicario played the deputy in Sons of Anarchy
she’s hitting a nerve 😂
it’s that we consider 20lbs lol already overweight not obese. 20lbs over is for sure considered obese. we’ve just gotten so used to it we are so desensitized.ralphie is super morbidly obese. theres already a medically derived scale
I agree. Overweight is like 5 maybe 10 pounds above an ideal weight. 20 pounds is a lot of fat
I like how women complain about double standards but then they’re the ones who judge women the most on their looks…
Perfect video for a long painful afternoon shit
Nice
Sicario 1 and 2 are both amazing films.
2:23 looks like Elon Musk right when they told him he will never go to Mars.
I think a lot of people don't understand the sarcasm/dry humour of these two. They crack me up. But they are spot on when it comes to the beauty standards in movies.
Christina looking like Brando while calling him nasty.
She’s pregnant though lol
Speaking of Orson Wells, have you guys ever heard his frozen peas commercial recording? Its interesting.
Marlon Brando is an interesting one - they did have to alter some scenes and filming choices in Apocalypse Now as he was overweight (like shooting him in the shadows), but despite all the legends he was actually nearer 220lbs (so Bert/Tom Challenge weight territory)... he didn’t become 300ish though until he was semi-retired in 1990s/2000s.
Not to mention he was a fantastic, pioneering actor, who even when a mess on Apocalypse Now turned in one of his most iconic performances.
The standard of what's "fat" has changed. 20lbs overweight in Brandos day was fat.
love how they say bert is same as ralphie may.
Except Bert's fatter
Tom gettin defensive Hahahha
Interesting topic lol.
WrecklessEating holy shit didn’t expect to see you around here. Cheers fuckers!
they have all kinds of interesting topic. try it out.
Come on watch The Score he's amazeballs
that first photo of benicio looked like a shop of Kim Jong-un and Elon Musk.
Yo christina take it easy on brando, and Orson yes they got fat butt accomplished so much in life that they commanded respect even in there twilight
Both of them fits this title perfect!
I'm confused. At the start It says "past their prime ".....is it past? I thought it was passed o.O
The Bearded One no. It’s definitely “past”. Example; The car passed me on the left. Once the car was past me, I turned.
You guys are fucking awesome
Almost turned it off with the Gandolfini slander . In my house, James Gandolfini is a hero, END OF STORY!
It's not a double standard, because the way men and women market themselves in society is different. I've heard this lamenting before, with musicians. Men the majority of the time in society don't sell themselves on their looks. In the sexual marketplace men's value peaks at 50, compared to women's peaking at 18. Men sell themselves on their ability to climb the social ladder, because this is what women look for when looking for a man. Women across the board only pair up with a man at or above their social status. So men surround themselves with symbols of social status, expensive cars, watches etc. Men look for signs of physical and genetic health in women, in nature this is symmetry, and in society it's beauty and men don't really give much of a shit about a woman's social status, so women will spend vast amounts of money on dresses, makeup, cosmetic surgery etc. The difference also manifests itself in persona, Men can't sell themselves solely on looks, because it isn't as valued by women as it is by men. So what you get is men building up a personality and a certain gravitas, as they get older, to help sell themselves on the sexual market place, that also happens to benefit them in society when looking for jobs etc. Women however Have a much greater advantage early in life, that will degrade over time, because they can sell themselves on beauty, but beauty leaves them as they get older. So what you end up with are female actors and musicians that will sell themselves on beauty early in life by making scantily clad music videos i.e. Miley Cyrus, or taking sexually explicit photo shoots i.e. Emma Watson, but once that beauty leaves them they will find it much harder to operate in their chosen line of work. It's why you have people like Madonna criticizing younger female musicians that choose to sexualize themselves in music videos, despite her hypocritically doing the exact same thing in her youth. Its because her youth is gone, and she can't rely on it anymore, and so probably doesn't like it when she sees other women use an advantage she can't use anymore to get more popular than she ever was. On the other side of things you have these older men, musicians and actors who have built up this personality and gravitas to sell themselves on, that resulted in a much harder climb earlier in life on the music and acting scene, but that only continues to reward them later in life. So at old age you have men like Sean Connery, and Johny Cash, who are well respected and loved despite them growing older and uglier, because that persona never left them. It's why Anthony Hopkins, and Danny Devito are still so beloved, despite being old and conventionally unattractive.
I know Brando was big towards the end, but he was still pretty good in The Score with Robert Deniro and Edward Norton. There really is a double standard though, most of the time.
And actresses have to be 120 lbs or they're fat
Premise and ending were dumb AF in Sicario 2
Benicio put on the pounds for that Ben Stiller show. Just saying this, clearing things up after 2 years.
Is it past their prime or passed their prime? English isn't my first language so just wondering.
Sweemu passed. 👍
They have passed their prime or their prime was in their past
"They are past their prime."
"They have passed their prime."
Either of those sentences have the same meaning.
3:15 Marlon Brando always read his lines off a cue card, even when he was young. Nothing to do with age or being out of it.
First one up Steve Ballmer. 'He is not fat!' Only in America...lol...
So it’s Ralphie, Orson Wells, then Bert?
As your attorney I advise you to rest a very fast car with no top, and you'll need the cocaine....
"Shes "guy" talented so we give her a pass" 🙄🤔
"There's a double standard.."

Lol Christina can barely breathe. I don't know why this makes me laugh.
Isn't he supposed to look worn out in the movie - considering what he goes through?
I must have missed some crazy Bert phase because I've never once seen a single photo or any evidence that Bert was ever even nearly the size of either John Good man or Ralphie May. Especially Ralphie, like come on, he was one step away from being one of those people who have to be cut out of their own house.
Watch toms dance video, its bert without his usual photoshop.
Also, read up on Gandolfini and his time on the Sopranos. Who else could could have played that part? Who expects a mobster to be Brad Pitt or something?.. but that aside.. the man put weight on during the Sopranos as Tony was going through depression and his near divorce.. watch the scenes the man is eating constantly and this was a creative choice he made with David Chase. It’s not like the dude was in the remake of seven years in Tibet or what ever, and had he asked what was in a box it was a conoli
When she says there's double standards In the acting business just point her towards Christian Bale, dude is a shape shifter for the camera.
Just say "amazing" no need to try to be cool and say "amaze" in place of amazing
They didn't let him work like that! It stopped when he hit 70 after The Island of Dr. Moreau.
His last movie was 2001. I think it was called the heist or something like that.
Marlo was considered a pioneer for acting. Emily blunt isn’t even close.
And James Gandolfini was a really great person. If you haven't seen it watches documentary with Wounded veterans. You can see just how empathetic that guy really was
