well considering his other ex girlfriends and his wife came out in defense of him, and said hes not like that AT ALL, i doubt theres even a shred of truth to anything she said. now his career is ruined for no reason, without ANY corroboration or evidence in support of the nut who wrote the blog.
Anthony James Plus, didn't he tell her straight up at the beginning what the deal was? Sounds like he set expectations and she was down. It's like getting a new job and being pissed that the employer enforced the agreement, then when you asked for you job back they told you to fuck off.
Dom In The Desert - that's only if what she wrote is to be believed. but yes, if so, she'd be completely complicit in that case. if those expectations were set at the very beginning of the relationship, and you stick around and oblige, then it was consensual. plain and simple.
Not to mention that in his breakup text to her, he never got even remotely argumentative or antagonistic. Also, she claimed to have proof of it and would divulge it... Well, where is it? She has yet to bring that proof up.
There's also the online videos of her thanking him profusely for being an amazing boyfriend and beyond supportive, sleeping in her hospital room to be with her, etc. It's all highly suspect.
How does anyone know that she's not just out for revenge for a broken heart? It's not like it NEVER happens. I believe women should be heard, but not to the extreme end of over correction where words alone can ruin someone completely and no one has to prove anything. Anyone who has a beef against anyone is now empowered to fuck them over completely whether they did anything or not, all you have to do is say it. And it isn't just a women vs. men thing, anybody could use it against anyone. Some of these guys getting shaken from the branches of the perv tree are getting their just desserts, but some of these 'scandals' are just going too far.

The word "Triggered" has had its meaning changed, it didn't used to mean to get angry. "Trigger warnings" were meant as warnings to people that suffer from PTSD. Someone who has a trauma triggered sometimes relive a traumatic time in the past. I for example, experienced domestic violence towards my mother when I was a teen, her partner at the time used to bang on the windows and eventually break down the door before brutally beating my mother, now any time a strange man walks outside my apartment windows i get flashbacks and i can even remember the way my mothers ribs sounded when he would hit her. It feels like I'm about to relive the experience all over again. That to me is what triggered really means. It doesn't mean being offended. You can't control how you feel when a trauma has been triggered, you can control whether you are offended.

Also Christina says that the Gen X kids raised the current generation incorrectly by validating their feelings too much, but that's not the problem. It seems that the problem is that they raised them to not put their feelings in to context. If kids are demanding their professors give trigger warnings because it will trigger negative emotions then Gen X has not done a good job of teaching their kids to talk about their feelings; their kids are requesting to not be made to express or think about their feelings. Too much feelings is not the problem, inadequate systems to discuss feelings is.

All they had to say was that they were taking the allegations seriously and investigating the situation. In an effort to appear righteous, they took actions that suggested that Hardwick was guilty. That wasn't based on principle. It was just fear that it would cost them money. They were willing to throw their business partner under the bus before asking any questions.

Replying to my own comment because I don't want to spam the comments and I'm responding to each of the points that I think deserve rebuttal in real time. I fully understand the idea of a comic making a joke on whatever the subject matter immediately presented to them is. For example, I'm a fan of Anthony Jeselnik and a native american man and if Jeselnik were to make a joke about smallpox or native american genocide, the thing the would take the most issue with is that it's not as topical as Jeselnik's other material. What I am ready to condemn Hardwick on is his very abusive list of rules for Chloe's behaviour. Even if you take most of Chloe's claims with a grain of salt, Hardwick giving her commands on how to act like she's your pet or property and not her own person is about as abusive as you can get without Chris Browning her in the face. I'll play the middle and say that it wasn't a good idea of her to get involved with someone at work but the fallout from that should be an awkward breakup and having to pretend to still be friends, not flagrant abuse and subsequent blacklisting.
I think a lot of things would be cleared up if people knew what triggers actually are. Triggers can be songs, a sound, a smell, etc. And they activate PTSD symptoms like anxiety attacks, etc. It's not just discomfort w difficult subject matter. A lot of ppl who either dismiss triggering or try to censor content don't understand this.

also, the Chris Hardwick situation infuriates me to no end. i almost always believe the accuser first, and i did in this case initially, as well. but after some time has passed, and after seeing the text messages between the two that Hardwick released, and after the absurd amount of support and defense he's received from multiple ex-girlfriends, his wife, his mother-in-law (who herself was a victim of torture/assault), not to mention the average American women i've seen online saying that even as abuse survivors themselves, they still don't trust the story as Chloe wrote it, and instead support Chris.

I think it may be because for so long a lot of legitimate accusations were tossed to the wayside so now there's a lot of trying to compensate for past oversight. There's no median.
