  • In this Surf Tip, Noel Salas goes into detail about how he works on his Frontside Round House Cutbacks. This is one of Noel's favorite maneuvers. He emphasizes repetition by using his Slide Surf Skate and explains how to do a frontside roundhouse cutback from start to finish. To start off, Noel is looking for drive during the cutback and always commits to the maneuver 100%. Noel explains weight shifting and heel-toe pressure to get the surfboard rails to dig into the wave. Then, he explains the rotation and wave transition from top to bottom of the wave and where your focus should be. His surf skate lesson will create a repetitive movement, so you can practice the maneuver and transfer it into your surfing. Finally, Noel dives into a few different Slide Surf Skate products that will ultimately help improve your surfing.

      Ive noticed alot of progression using the gussie spoon on quarter pipes and ramps. Depending on crowds i will use your cone drills.

    Great video! Thanks for the great tutorial. Living on the East coast a surfskate is an essential tool for progression.

    I surf mostly progressive longboard here in Hawai'i and have a hard time consistency wise with these.. I'll sometimes get back to the whitewater, do the rebound but will lose my speed and bog out coming down or fall over on my toe side rail...
    I do love a beautiful frontside roundhouse cutback! Thank you for these videos Noel!

    Great as always. I'm 48 now coming back from about ten years of hardly surfing. I've never been more inspired to improve my surfing.
    Slater is an inspiration on surfing into the later years. But how old are you Nole? And still ripping!

    After watching the intro it reminded me how many boards you have reviewed. And yes I have watched them all. Just wondering ... do you have a favourite or like top 3 boards. Let's call them the All Time Favourites of the Favourites ... my guess Fishbeard+ NB3 combo, RNF96 and ... not sure either some new twin you are working on or maybe a HPSB for better days

      All time 3 Favs… RNF 96, Driver 2.0 or Fever, Rusty Deuce Twin Fin. The NB2 is silly good too

      great question ! I was torn between the rnf 96 and the deuce , and @surfnshowreviews7777 helped me out on the pick, so I'm pulling the trigger for the deuce :)

    Hey Noel, do you prefer the slide surfs over Carver now?

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Absolutely… the Slide boards are smoother rail to rail and the Slide trucks offer more of a surfboard feel. The Slide truck system allows me to drive the board a bit more from the back truck.
