Starfield main story is incredible. The faction storylines and most of the sidequests that I played through were also great. Except for the pirates one. That sassy black monkey needs to throw herself off out of the airlock.
BGS games do seem to have a problem with most of the characters being written as "generically good", needs more morally gray characters, characters that rip you off, offensive characters, cruel characters, make you actually invested in decisions involving that character rather than facerolling through dialogue
@@Sand_1995 Both good characters and a nice change of pace from the usual writing style but I'd like to see more depth, the extent of Cicero's personality is that he's just a sort of loopy eccentric guy. Compare to say Astarion from BG3, who is also eccentric, often downright cruel, enjoys inflicting pain but also can sympathize at times. Not every side character in Bethesda games needs to be that developed but people in real life tend to have more than one personality trait.
I'll play Outer Worlds over Starfield anyday. People wanted Outer Worlds to be NV, which is why people were disappointed with it. When in reality it wasn't that bad and it was an actual solid rpg.
Outer Worlds and Starfield are both not great, but unless you’re a Bethesda dickrider you gotta agree Starfield is like a 4/10 rpg if we are comparing it to the writing and gameplay elements of fallout and elder scrolls
@@slayking2378 not really up to the player, most of the time companions will peak corners low health and refuse to run behind the player, companions are usually much more aggressive than the player is, he’s also referring to outer worlds since companions can’t die in starfield, and in that hard difficulty I played without companions and the game was just as easy

Seeing as how Outer Worlds worked on FO:NV did Bethesda intentionally name stuff in Starfield to reflect things in Outer Worlds because they were bitter? Like Spacers are outsider no names only keen on stealing and killing(a dig at Obsidian?), Hephaestus is also a mining company in Starfield, even the Idea of a Grav Drive(Skip Drive) though maybe I haven't ventured far enough into the game yet in Outer Worlds to find out it is in fact different, but the initial concept of it briefly spoken about by Phineas sounds so similar to a Grav Drive.. After Starfield left me feeling lonely and empty with silly endgame with little to no substance, I'm glad Outer Worlds is able to fill the gap. But seriously, anyone play both games all the way through have any other comparisons? Is Starfield just a way for Bethesda to lash out at Obsidian Entertainment's Outer Worlds?
That is a huge stretch,and I doubt it,my guess is that Bethesda needed some sort of raider enemies,and chose spacer because it sounded cool,sorted like these outlaws are spacing out,Hephaestus could just a coincidence,and there are some sci fi films and show that have version of “the other engine that gets us to point A to point B quick” Star Wars had “the hyper drive”,and star wars came out after Star Trek which had a drive of its own called “the warp drive”
Bethesda is terrible these days it's all because of Todd Howard. I read he might have nothing to do with fallout 5 which I know that's coming out in 10 years or more lol but if that's true It should be a great game. I'm very very nervous about the next elder scrolls

Downloaded Starfield via Game Pass and after 4 hours I dropped the game and picked up Outer Worlds. I'm 20 hours in and the game is great.

Bethesda has fallen so hard that I can't tell if this a backhanded compliment or legitimate praise.

I think the art Direction in Outer Worlds is better to and the world is not needlessly bloated and empty like Starfields.

If I were to pick between outer worlds (an unclever satire) or starfield ( an over ambitious empty game) I’d pick outer worlds
At least your companion can permanently die on hard difficulty which I need for every RPG game
