    The depth you go to in your videos is so helpful. Forget Top Deck Academy, I am getting a Masters at Omnipoke University with these presentations! :D I love your long-form videos and you've had a huge impact on my knowledge of the game, so, thank you!

    This is so helpful! I want to make a block cube focused on all the cards from sword/shield using my bulk (probably going to just leave out V's and VMax's). The ratios and descriptions were super helpful!

    I really want to make a cube for the platinum sets and then one for the hgss sets. Those are when I was most active in tcg and also I just love those cards so much

    I don't think I'll be able to do this for a while, but cubes/drafts are always some of my favorite formats. Just thinking of an idea of chucking archetypes around some of my favorite Pokémon sounds awesome!

    This is perfect timing, I keep going back and forth on doing Vintage cube and a modern cube or just one large one. Thanks for updating this video!

    Celebrations is a fun set for cubes since it has both Cleffa and Claydol in it plus other interesting older cards like Gardevoir, Gyrados etc. It makes me wish we got more reprints of old cards. But yeah, I ended up trading for a play set of Celebrations Claydol (plus one for binder) and accidentally pulled a play set of Cleffa so they are definitely going into a cube

      @@OmniPoke Thanks! My friends and I were most into the TCG in the early 2010s so it's a BW-on traditional cube with some added spice courtesy of some cards from more recent sets.

    Looking at building my first cube. For ease of sleeving and such, how many basic energy do you have on hand sleeved up and ready for grabbing?

    What do you think about having only the highest stage evolution in the draft and the rest of the line given for free when you get your basics. This is for a singleton cube of course so the lines aren't very consistent but you can get a lot of them and don't need to worry about all members of the evolution line being open.

    • @OmniPoke
      @OmniPoke  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Great for speeding up a draft process, it does take away some of the skill/jeopardy of balancing constancy with power and drafting open but it means pretty much everyone can have working decks!

    I recently added the radiant Pokémon in my cube and made the rule you have to evolve into them (radiant charizard, radiant greninja for example) and its been pretty good!

    hmmm.. It'd be nice to have some sort of "list" of cards from more recent sets that are good for cube.. some of use just got into the hobby :(

      Everything is dependant on what type of cube is being built, cubekoga would be a great place to get inspiration for individual cards

    So this is like Arena from hearthstone but with a limited, controlled pool?
    Sounds like a format that ptcg should have for years now ngl, having sort of a roguelike mode is always fun in card games for replayability.

    So I've been watching these videos on cube and it seems fun so I decided to give it a go and made a rough cube for my son and I to draft from. My main question is, is a 1-1-1 stage 2 line enough in the cube for a certain Pokemon seeing as how a key piece could be prized? Or should I insert a 2-2-2 line of all stage 2's I put in my cube to help keep pieces from being prized? I was trying to include a 2-2-2 line of all stage 2's but my resources are slim because I was working with what we've collected over the past year and a half. Also maybe I missed it but what size should the packs be when drafting for 2 players?

    Are there adjusted numbers for stage 1 and 2 evo lines breakdown in relation to a 2 person 126 card cube. Using 6,5,4 and 5,4 puts you way over the recommended count for mons on the “shell” page and finding the right ratio pages. Using those numbers I feel like I’d have to do 264 or 360. I’m having trouble with the trainer count as well. Feel like I’m guessing on quantities for staples like gust, oak, energy search, poke ball, bill, etc.

    • @OmniPoke
      @OmniPoke  Před 2 lety

      2 person is a little trickier to make work with multiple stage 1/2 lines: I suggest you take a look at some of the 2 player cubes on cubekoga.net to get a feel for them- I’ve got an SP 2 player on there and I’m working on a Zoroark 2 player cube!

  • @clemdelaclem
    @clemdelaclem Před rokem

    One recommendation I have is to do the drafting face down, so neither player knows what is in the deck, and then have no single card that searches anything from the deck, the only way a card is allowed to interact with a deck is drawing off the top. That way each player has no idea what is in their deck, they have to rely on the current hand which can be quite interesting if the cube is balanced well enough. It makes every game even more unique and interactive since you can't use the same strategy twice in a row
