  • I've always been a huge fan of Agile guitars from Rondo Music, and not just because they're affordable -- they're fabulous instruments!
    I decided to take a chance on one of their newest offerings -- the Agile Geodesic Pro 625 in "Blue Purple Burl" finish and man, am I glad I did!
    This is quite possibly the best Agile I've ever played, and that's saying something -- I've owned about ten of them and loved them all! The Agile Geodesic Pro 625 comes complete with really top quality features such as a lightweight mahogany body, ebony fretboard, roasted maple neck, stainless steel frets, a modern and ergonomic headless design, and Fishman Fluence Modern humbucker pickups stock!
    Take a listen to this amazing Agile Geodesic Pro 625 guitar and judge for yourself!

    Never heard of you, never seen your channel before, but after hearing that playing in the intro I subbed instantly.

    Glad to see that you're making videos again. While this guitar isn't my usual style that I'm into, you played it beautifully and it sounded great! The pickups are very versatile for sure and the guitar's finish looks nice too.

    Great note choices! You hit some really nice spots. I’m amazed by how versatile those pickups are, too - I have them in a strandberg 8 string but mostly play death metal. Cool to see them doing something else!

      Thanks man! Yeah they're actually crazy versatile, and that was a nice surprise! I was expecting to swap them for the Fluence Classics but there's seriously no need, they can pretty much cover any genre they're asked to do!

    I have an Agile hollow body "jazz box" with an open book head stock the closest date I can find for it is early 2003. Its a real honey and my favorite hollow body. No center blocks only a brace to keep the top from collapsing. I talked to Mr. Rondo but he seems to think it may not exist but I have the guitar as exhibit A. I do wish the more conventional style Agiles were back in production but the last time I checked they were all "pending".

      I just checked the Rondo website. I need to get out more, I had not considered logistics with the supply line disruptions although my wife tells me every day we can't get items we need (not want like a guitar) My apologies for my lack of consciousness.

      Would like get your opinion on the bridge also. Is it made of the low quality metal most of these type of bridges are made of that see on eBay or AlibabaExpress?

      Yes, a detailed review would be great :-)

    I would like to know more about the electronics and how Agile wired this guitar with the Fishmans... From what I saw in your video it looks like the volume push pull pot controls the voicing, (down=active, up=passive) and the splitting is controlled via the 5 way selector switch? Almost looked like there is a push pull pot on your tone control.... Any information you can provide about the stock wiring/controls would be greatly appreciated.

      Spoke with rondo music today and supposedly these guitars are being shipped with a three-way selector switch and a push pull pot for the voicing. Wondering how you were getting the split coil sounds as well as the passive and active voicings on your geodesic. Thanks

    • @MattTheGuitarGuy
      @MattTheGuitarGuy  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Greg -- both the volume and tone pots are push-pull controls. The volume push-pull controls the active/passive voicing choice, and the tone push-pull splits the humbuckers into single coils, which adds even more versatility in combination with the active/passive control.

      @@MattTheGuitarGuy oh that's awesome:-):-) how is the bridge? Supposedly it's a graphite nut... how is the tuning stability?

    • @MattTheGuitarGuy
      @MattTheGuitarGuy  Před 3 lety +1

      @@specializedbighitfsr Bridge seems excellent -- very stable tuning and doesn't have the "tight" tuning keys that many early generation Strandbergs suffered with (it does have Teflon washers within the tuning assembly). It also has what appears to be a Graphtech nut, and while the nut slots weren't "perfect" on arrival just a quick pass from a nut file sorted it out!

      @@MattTheGuitarGuy that's really good news :-) I have heard that the fret jobs on the new agile models with stainless frets are actually pretty impressive, any issues with the level of the frets or buzzing? I'm torn in between the geodesic pro 625 and the epic 625 with the fishman fluence pickups. Wonder if the epic has two push-pull pots as well.
