I dont think they sent you extra light panels, you put 5 on the left 2 in the back and 3 on the right. It should have been 4 on left 2 in the back and 4 on the right.

As many others have already stated, definitely should have waited till that concrete cured (the mesh also should have been suspended up higher so that it is more in the middle of the concrete) and you are definitely going to want to anchor that thing to the concrete, especially where you all live. Y'all should also put a bunch of gravel with a drainage pipe covered by a grate between the concrete and the asphalt if you aren't already planning to do so
Could you have put one of the light panels on the other side and traded another one with the back of the booth so there were three lights on the end and even number on both sides
Should've called in a rotator truck to lift off the whole Conex onto a couple of railroad ties in your yard. You need to have an inventory of good containers in your yard for secure storage anyway. That one looked really new and clean.
The paint booth isn't heavy enough. Those high walls present a big profile to the wind and the building itself is quite lightweight. It needs to be anchored to the slab. Also, with the paved parking area sloping down to the booth, and the booth being a few inches lower, you are going to have a water problem. I am so glad to see you get this booth. Its been a long time coming and will be a major asset for you.

The steel reinforcing for the slab should have been lifted up off the floor on standoffs. I hope the paint booth slab is higher than the low part of the drive (or you have a drain in between), it looks like the asphalt drive runs down towards the slab. I would have kept the steel off the concrete floor too. You should have sealed the outer edge against the floor and I would have painted the concrete floor below the paint booth. You definitely want the same amount of lights on each side.
Rebar should have been tied. You can get the reinforced steel with little legs on to lift it as for the asphalt I think the concrete was above it, but it should have been level with a drain in between the concrete and asphalt. Madness the concrete guys don't tell them this before they pour it.
Yea, there's big drainage behind the booth. They were specifically told by the township to build it by codes. Now they put an illegal paint booth on top of it. It will definitely be a problem for them.
Reinforcing should have been lifted and overlapped, organic material under the base should have been removed, paint booth needs to be anchored down so the wind doesn’t take it away.
I strongly recommend you move the paint boot inside your hangar or at least making it more rigid with an exterior skeleton. Strong enough wind will probably tear it up easy. I worked with similar panels for a mushroom growing room and it isn't the strongest thing out there... basically it's just polyester sandwiched with a composite.
When you caulk the outside joints Use blue tape Run the tape vertically about 1/16 off the edge of what you are caulking Over shoot the silicone on the joint Use a flat tooling knife to push it in Makes a nice neat caulk joint that will look like a rubber gasket.

you guys have talked about wanting to build a paint booth since your beginings, im happy to say that i was here back then, and im here now to finally see it come to reality, so happy for you guys.
Great work! YOU guys should do a full shed setup over that booth instead of an awning! It would be SO much better. You could have it fully enclosed then and secure. If you were sanding a car and ran out of time, you just close the roller door. Otherwise you'd have to be moving vehicles back and forth to the shop, or leaving them outside over night! Make it enclosed and use the space around the left side and rear for paint and supply storage!
I think that the main workshop was the maximum size for the land area as mentioned in a previous video, and the only way around the paint booth situation is to use a awning as it's classed as temporary to cover it. You're right it should be enclosed... mixing and storing paint isn't going to be fun either. I think letting the concrete cure for a week or so and taking the time to read the installation manual would of been prudent as well as sealing the area under the floor. Serious possibility of concrete dust ruining every paint job with contamination if not sealed and picked up by the fans no matter how good the filters.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing watching this one. I thought they’ve really gotten quite a bit of use out of the ole skid these last few years. I’m in the excavation business and we use those almost daily, and we they bought that one I thought that’s a really nice machine, and they get to start out with something brand new, and will have a warranty and all that, but that is awfully high dollar if you’re not going to be using it every day. But they have got alot of use out of it. Plus they do hold their value really well. So in the end if you’ve got the money and can afford it, it’s probably not a bad investment at all.

Still there would be 15-20 videos or 3-4 months of each build even now the paint booth is in the house. Earlier they had an excuse that the paint booth was not available. But now let's see.

Yes the used the paint booth availability a few times on slow production of completing car builds, but the main reason they use are finding parts or shipping of parts. I also think they have a handle on that now. I believe this is a game changer. My prediction, with what is possible now with crazy paint jobs and and epic custom builds. Their channel will grow to 3 million subs by the end of this year. With more sponsors & partnerships in the future. They can finally paint those Camaro rims so all 4 rims match. 🤣

I don't think they sent you extra light panels, I think you guys messed up cause you have two lights at the back and two on the right and five on the left, I think you need 4 on each side. Also, you should've waited for the concrete to set before the weight of the booth on it, that's why when you were putting it together, the panels were shifting and you guys didn't use the silicone to seal it. Not putting that silicone between the panels will make a huge difference when dirt tries to filter in, just my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
They will have bigger problems down the road. They were rushing to put it together. They both have been slacking since they got married. We don’t get 3 videos a week anymore, because they rush to get home. They use to be my favorite CZcams show. This is why their subscribers have not been going up, anymore. They're making money in Merch, and Dang Sauce. But, without Subscribers. This booth really disappointed me how much they rushed it.
Wait, do you seriously think the panels were shifting because the concrete wasn't ready? Have you ever poured concrete in your life? The weight of that paint booth is nothing in terms of PSI compared to someone standing on it. It was more than ready enough.

If they sent extra light panels, why not reconfigure with 4 on each side? Also, you REALLY need to anchor that booth down. a decent storm will give it to your neighbor.
They are getting a steel building to go around the paint booth so it won’t be exposed to the outside or winds. They were shopping for it in the previous episode.

Because they buy cheap shit from sketchy Chinese websites and try to cut corners 24/7. That's why everything turns to shit on them. They get quotes from reputable local companies and say it's too expensive and order some online crap and instal it themselves.

Make sure you guys get the spray on film for the inside for any overspray to keep those walls clean … spray it on then after 3-5 paint jobs wash off the film on the walls and reapply to keep it fresh .. also add clear film wrap to the window doors so you’re not cleaning the windows all the time . Just peel and repeat …

So much stuff packed in this video - Happy Birthday Billy, that is an awesome paint booth and that 55 Chevy, the machine shop..... wow epic.... great call on getting in an expert for the welding, he knocked it out. So much hard work... just unloading the truck was crazy and timing was perfect really. We are having a massive heat wave in Texas and I could not imagine working in that temp, glad it was much cooler in TN. I'm hoping ya'll put in some good anchors after that slab cures. Now it's more congested than before. That open space in front of their work was good instead of illegal building there. They should have built a paint booth inside where they're storing unfinished builds in the corner.

Just be careful making that slab too thick with those rocks. What could happen when you remove the wooden barrier around the concrete the bottom rocks can shift and slide out causing your concrete to crack and sag. Might need a cinder block framing around. Time will tell. Love the videos keep it up.
They did a drop edge but didn't vibrate the concrete in. There's huge holes in the side. I think they should have used compacted road base. I've never seen a slab poured on loose gravel before. Maybe it's a US thing? They could mound up something around the outside like clay and seed it to stop undermining. But I'm pretty sure they don't even have electricity out there so things are about to get interesting.

Paint booth tip: get sprayable grease and spray the walls pre painting anything. This will do two things. 1. Make the paint job have less debris. 2. East to clean and re apply.

Did I hear Billy say that the weight of the paint booth should hold it down. That is insane. Even a 40 mile an hour wind will pick thy thing up and move it. It is now basically a giant sail. You need to anchor the bottom of that thing down before you get further down the road. Also I hope that you check with your planning and zoning department and building department. If not you may be tearing thing down.

Guys, I'm not sure why you always feel the need to rush things and make mistakes or not do it the right way. Why not have a level slab, wait for concrete to cure, anchor base, silicone as you go, look at what you got ahead of time so lighting could be spaced evenly, etc? Just easily avoidable stuff that would bug me if I were making the booth.
So they make another video with a click baity thumbnail. One video to build wrong. Another video to fix it right. Now you have two videos for the same build to earn money on.

Love the videos. Been watching for a few years now, but I’m hoping you guys placed the welded wire reinforcement for the slab on standees or doobies. If not, it is not effective placed at the bottom of the slab directly on the ground and the top of the slab will still crack as if that welded wire reinforcement was not placed. For preventing cracks at the surface, you want to place reinforcement 2” or so from the top of the slab. ACI also specifies a minimum amount of reinforcement you need depending on slab thickness. Can’t wait to see the final product and the next builds!
I saw no wire chairs at all. Hopefully the concrete guys pulled the wire up while they were pouring. That’s what the little hooks on the rakes are for. Apparently they didn’t use a vibrator cause there was a lot of honeycombs on the exposed sides. Concrete needs 28 days to reach max design strength but your usually safe after 14 days for medium weight. Can’t believe they had the Bronco on it after one day🤔
@@mitchtucker5768 yeah we typically don’t allow contractors on it until 28 days till it’s fully cured. Not sure if they did any curing on this slab. Seems like they just let it dry a few hours and put the booth on it
@@Austin101280 If you're a contractor, you know damn well that waiting 14 days, let alone 28 is insane. When they test concrete curing time/strength, it's always underwater were concrete takes the longest to cure. In the hot summer like that, it's A LOT faster to cure. I've never seen in my 14 years of construction anyone wait anywhere that long before framing. Concrete doesn't need to reach its max strength to support a small load. Even if that tiny paint booth weights 8 000 lbs, which is probably a lot less than that, it would still be less PSI than someone standing on it. We've always started framing the next day because it's ridiculous not to.

I think they're doing bad from 2023. Their video quality and content are getting worse, not following schedule anymore. Also not finishing builds 100%. Their last 3-4 builds they did not finish 100% before they gave up on it and moved on other builds.
Looking so good! Definitely gonna want to prioritize having balanced lighting in the booth, otherwise you'll create weird shadows and you won't be able to accurately assess your paint job. Job number one of the paint booth is ventilation, but job number 2 is lighting! Also, might still be a good idea to bolt down the base of the paint booth; you guys get a good gust of wind and the whole thing will move, or at least get out of square, which could cause leaks between the panels!

You use a rake to lift the wire mesh they do it as the pour was hard to tell if they did that though :) most now to do that

you guys have talked about wanting to build a paint booth since your beginings, im happy to say that i was here back then, and im here now to finally see it come to reality, so happy for you guys.
Great work! YOU guys should do a full shed setup over that booth instead of an awning! It would be SO much better. You could have it fully enclosed then and secure. If you were sanding a car and ran out of time, you just close the roller door. Otherwise you'd have to be moving vehicles back and forth to the shop, or leaving them outside over night! Make it enclosed and use the space around the left side and rear for paint and supply storage!
I think that the main workshop was the maximum size for the land area as mentioned in a previous video, and the only way around the paint booth situation is to use a awning as it's classed as temporary to cover it. You're right it should be enclosed... mixing and storing paint isn't going to be fun either. I think letting the concrete cure for a week or so and taking the time to read the installation manual would of been prudent as well as sealing the area under the floor. Serious possibility of concrete dust ruining every paint job with contamination if not sealed and picked up by the fans no matter how good the filters.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing watching this one. I thought they’ve really gotten quite a bit of use out of the ole skid these last few years. I’m in the excavation business and we use those almost daily, and we they bought that one I thought that’s a really nice machine, and they get to start out with something brand new, and will have a warranty and all that, but that is awfully high dollar if you’re not going to be using it every day. But they have got alot of use out of it. Plus they do hold their value really well. So in the end if you’ve got the money and can afford it, it’s probably not a bad investment at all.

May be the 2 back wall lights were supposed to go on the other side wall of the booth. My professional installed booth doesnt have lights on the back wall just the sides and ceiling.

Still there would be 15-20 videos or 3-4 months of each build even now the paint booth is in the house. Earlier they had an excuse that the paint booth was not available. But now let's see.
@@TNT-ml1ll we will see. I think they will crank out builds in record time from now on. Yes the used the paint booth availability a few times on slow production of completing car builds, but the main reason they use are finding parts or shipping of parts. I also think they have a handle on that now. I believe this is a game changer. My prediction, with what is possible now with crazy paint jobs and and epic custom builds. Their channel will grow to 3 million subs by the end of this year. With more sponsors & partnerships in the future. They can finally paint those Camaro rims so all 4 rims match. 🤣

I don't think they sent you extra light panels, I think you guys messed up cause you have two lights at the back and two on the right and five on the left, I think you need 4 on each side. Also, you should've waited for the concrete to set before the weight of the booth on it, that's why when you were putting it together, the panels were shifting and you guys didn't use the silicone to seal it. Not putting that silicone between the panels will make a huge difference when dirt tries to filter in, just my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
They will have bigger problems down the road. They were rushing to put it together. They both have been slacking since they got married. We don’t get 3 videos a week anymore, because they rush to get home. They use to be my favorite CZcams show. This is why their subscribers have not been going up, anymore. They're making money in Merch, and Dang Sauce. But, without Subscribers. This booth really disappointed me how much they rushed it.

Make sure you guys get the spray on film for the inside for any overspray to keep those walls clean … spray it on then after 3-5 paint jobs wash off the film on the walls and reapply to keep it fresh .. also add clear film wrap to the window doors so you’re not cleaning the windows all the time . Just peel and repeat …

So much stuff packed in this video - Happy Birthday Billy, that is an awesome paint booth and that 55 Chevy, the machine shop..... wow epic.... great call on getting in an expert for the welding, he knocked it out. So much hard work... just unloading the truck was crazy and timing was perfect really. We are having a massive heat wave in Texas and I could not imagine working in that temp, glad it was much cooler in TN. I'm hoping ya'll put in some good anchors after that slab cures. Nice seeing mom deliver the food... Always love your positive energy! Peace!

Just be careful making that slab too thick with those rocks. What could happen when you remove the wooden barrier around the concrete the bottom rocks can shift and slide out causing your concrete to crack and sag. Might need a cinder block framing around. Time will tell. Love the videos keep it up.
They did a drop edge but didn't vibrate the concrete in. There's huge holes in the side.
I think they should have used compacted road base. I've never seen a slab poured on loose gravel before. Maybe it's a US thing?
They could mound up something around the outside like clay and seed it to stop undermining.
But I'm pretty sure they don't even have electricity out there so things are about to get interesting.

Paint booth tip: get sprayable grease and spray the walls pre painting anything. This will do two things. 1. Make the paint job have less debris. 2. East to clean and re apply.
Buy booth coat. It's a white, peelable paint that can be easily removed after many paint jobs.
They also make clear. I am a booth technician and can't wait to yell at the TV while they are working on it.
Silicone free caulk or you will have issues.
Then you go to lean on the wall, and you're covered in grease and then accidently touch the car now the paint work is ruined. OH NOES!!

Did I hear Billy say that the weight of the paint booth should hold it down. That is insane. Even a 40 mile an hour wind will pick thy thing up and move it. It is now basically a giant sail. You need to anchor the bottom of that thing down before you get further down the road. Also I hope that you check with your planning and zoning department and building department. If not you may be tearing thing down.

Pouring concrete, welding a Lambo, building a paintbooth. Multitasking on a new level. Unreal guys!
Guys, I'm not sure why you always feel the need to rush things and make mistakes or not do it the right way. Why not have a level slab, wait for concrete to cure, anchor base, silicone as you go, look at what you got ahead of time so lighting could be spaced evenly, etc? Just easily avoidable stuff that would bug me if I were making the booth.
So they make another video with a click baity thumbnail. One video to build wrong. Another video to fix it right. Now you have two videos for the same build to earn money on.
Usually you want to drop the slab for drainage reasons. All of ours slabs are dropped a little to a side

Love the videos. Been watching for a few years now, but I’m hoping you guys placed the welded wire reinforcement for the slab on standees or doobies. If not, it is not effective placed at the bottom of the slab directly on the ground and the top of the slab will still crack as if that welded wire reinforcement was not placed. For preventing cracks at the surface, you want to place reinforcement 2” or so from the top of the slab. ACI also specifies a minimum amount of reinforcement you need depending on slab thickness. Can’t wait to see the final product and the next builds!
if the concrete guys are any good they should do it before pouring. At least that's what they did with my concrete outside
I saw no wire chairs at all. Hopefully the concrete guys pulled the wire up while they were pouring. That’s what the little hooks on the rakes are for. Apparently they didn’t use a vibrator cause there was a lot of honeycombs on the exposed sides. Concrete needs 28 days to reach max design strength but your usually safe after 14 days for medium weight. Can’t believe they had the Bronco on it after one day🤔
@@mitchtucker5768 yeah we typically don’t allow contractors on it until 28 days till it’s fully cured. Not sure if they did any curing on this slab. Seems like they just let it dry a few hours and put the booth on it
@@Austin101280 If you're a contractor, you know damn well that waiting 14 days, let alone 28 is insane. When they test concrete curing time/strength, it's always underwater were concrete takes the longest to cure. In the hot summer like that, it's A LOT faster to cure. I've never seen in my 14 years of construction anyone wait anywhere that long before framing. Concrete doesn't need to reach its max strength to support a small load. Even if that tiny paint booth weights 8 000 lbs, which is probably a lot less than that, it would still be less PSI than someone standing on it. We've always started framing the next day because it's ridiculous not to.

I think they're doing bad from 2023. Their video quality and content are getting worse, not following schedule anymore. Also not finishing builds 100%. Their last 3-4 builds they did not finish 100% before they gave up on it and moved on other builds.

Looking so good! Definitely gonna want to prioritize having balanced lighting in the booth, otherwise you'll create weird shadows and you won't be able to accurately assess your paint job. Job number one of the paint booth is ventilation, but job number 2 is lighting! Also, might still be a good idea to bolt down the base of the paint booth; you guys get a good gust of wind and the whole thing will move, or at least get out of square, which could cause leaks between the panels!
