The Reluctant Dragon was what sparked my fascination about how the classic cartoons were made long ago! It actually made a lot of classic cartoons more fun to watch because I would imagine what it must’ve been like behind the scenes

Clarence Nash was a legend! When I first learned about voice actors (when I was around 7-8), I always thought that the people working the recording equipment used filters to make characters like Donald and Scooby Doo (characters that have voices that are hard to understand) sound the way they do (as I said earlier, I was in elementary school at the time). The fact that Clarence Nash was able to actually sound like a duck on his own makes me respect voice actors even more. Tony Anselmo has truly proven himself worthy of being Clarence’s successor as the voice of Donald Duck. Tony definitely had big shoes to fill at the time, but he definitely lived up to the expectations given to him not just by Clarence, but Disney fans as well, over the course of his nearly 40 years as Donald. RIP Clarence “Ducky” Nash and Wayne Allwine (Mickey’s voice actor from 1977* to 2010, who also appeared in this video) * Edit on 10/28/2023: so apparently, I was unaware that Wayne had been doing Mickey’s voice for a few years prior to the 1983 cartoon “Mickey’s Christmas Carol”, which was previously the earliest I knew of him voicing Mickey. And, in accordance with Donald’s 90th birthday next year, I also changed the amount of time Tony Anselmo has done the role. I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween
Keith Scott explained that Disney publicly claimed that they didn't credit voice actors because they believed it would spoil the illusion. The real reason, Scott said, is that the actors would want more money. It's the same with almost every other studio of theatrical cartoons, save Warner Brothers crediting Mel Blanc exclusively.
