He is only 61 years old and has been the official voice actor since 1985 and was training under Clarence Nash before that in 1981. For anyone that can produce words through an air pocket takes a lot of talent and practice.

I don’t care who I choose. Both Nash and Anselmo are great as Donald Duck. So yeah, I’ll leave it to that. They’re both a tie for me. I love how Anselmo got to work with Mel Blanc on Who Framed Roger Rabbit. That must’ve been an honor for him to work with him before he passed a year later. Tony is my favorite, mostly because I grew up with him voicing Donald. When Roadster Racers came on, as soon as that duck opened his mouth, I knew it wasn't the real one. Daniel's Donald voice is just a sad bootleg of that duck's voice. In fact, when Funhouse came on at one point and I heard Tony's voice from Donald's beak, I literally rewound my tv and I was like, "OMG! HE'S BACK!" 😂🤣😂

Yep he sure did. Judging by Tony Anselmo’s good health and only being 61 there’s a chance he may do the character even longer than Clarence Nash did it for. He’s already at 35+ years doing the character and there’s no signs of him stopping. I think Daniel Ross came in due to Tony Anselmo being busy doing the voice in other projects like the Ducktales reboot, Kingdom Hearts III and Legend of the Three Caballeros.
The voice is so hard to do that only three people have ever voiced the character. I think Tony could potentially go even longer than Clarence Nash did. The 50 year special was pretty much when the torch was passed so he’s at 38 years.
I think one film worth mentioning is "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." Which utilizes both archived recordings of Clarence Nash and new dialogue of Tony Anselmo. Although it has yet to be confirmed, there's a clear difference in the audio quality between Donald's lines.
It's really cool how you can hear Tony Anselmo gradually making Donald's voice his own. It may be the kind of voice that's hard to diversify, but it's noticeable how he settled into it over the years and is doing Clarence Nash justice while still bringing his own portrayal of the character to the table. :D Also, that transition from Tony Anselmo to Don Cheadle was impeccable.
Crazy to think in 87 years he has only had 3 voice actors (excludes Don Cheadle’s normal voice) and 2 official voice actors. Goes to show us how much talent it takes to produce that Duck voice through an air pocket and turn it into words.

The only con I can think of in this video is that you missed Russi Taylor voicing a younger Donald in a episode in the 2017 Ducktales. But other than that, nice video.
Both voice actors are amazing, and suit Donald, but me and my nostalgic ass perfers the original. When donald said, “hey, HEY! Cut it out!” & “Doggone stubborn little...” That was Clarence Nash. When donald said, “ this is hot stuff!” , “wow!” And his little sinister chuckle at the end of the dueling pianos scene, that was all tony anselmo. Most people can’t really tell the difference because of how great a job tony does, but there ya go.
When you get to goofy's I hope the clip yo use from kingdom hearts is one of the most overwrought, flowery anime lines about hearts and darkness they have him say. Hearing goofy say those is the best part about kingdom hearts.

Nash is the best one imo, mostly because it was my childhood, not because I was around the 70s, but bc my mom had bought me a CD with lots of classics from him
Clarence was quite impressive as Donald. He made so much progress as Donald on his own. From his first role, I couldn't literally couldn't understand a word Donald was saying, but by the end, I could understand him just fine. But I think Tony really is the better Donald, making him both intelligible and unintelligible. Also, you forgot Christian Weston Chandler.
There are a couple of differences if you listen closely. Clarence Nash's Donald has a lower pitch, while Tony Anselmo's Donald becomes both more high-pitched and more intelligible as time passes. Daniel Ross's Donald is pitched about the same as Tony Anselmo's later Donald, but is not as articulate.
You gotta do Horace Horsecaller and Clarabelle Cow. Probably a single video covering both Horace's animation evolution and voice evolution since I think he has been the least active character in the Mickey crew and Clarabelle could probably manage 2 shorter videos.
Gonna start giving my thoughts on the voices. Haven't done it since the Mickey one so gonna catch up starting with Donald. Clarence Nash: The man who created the voice and made Donald who he is. He's the original classic and a great one too. Only nitpick I have is that he is kinda hard to understand at times (moreso in the 30s and 40s) but he did get a bit easier to understand as years went on. Tony Anselmo: While he did start a bit rough around the edges in his early years (being more focused on the voice than acting), he definitely settled well into the role by the time Mickey Mouse Works came out and practically does an amazing job at being the successor to Nash plus he's easier to understand. There was actually a brief period where I tied both Nash and Anselmo. The reason why I don't now is that in more recent shows DuckTales 2017 and Legend of the Three Caballeros, Tony has really shown his mastery of Donald's voice and is able to apply that into the more serious material for those shows with really great performances with the voice he uses. I'd argue and say he's better than Nash (who only had the comedic cartoon shorts while Tony had those and the more serious moments) in that way. Daniel Ross: He's a bit rough around the edges and a tad higher pitched than the other two but he's a decent stand in for Tony. Has potential to improve with practice. 1. Tony Anselmo 2. Clarence Nash 3. Daniel Ross

The only con I can think of in this video is that you missed Russi Taylor voicing a younger Donald in a episode in the 2017 Ducktales. But other than that, nice video.

Both voice actors are amazing, and suit Donald, but me and my nostalgic ass perfers the original. Mainly becuase we had the short ( Im pretty sure it was a Chip n' Dale short) at 5:09 (along with many other CnD shorts all on one dvd) and its the very short that shot off my love for ducks, animation and drawing so.... yeah

When donald said, “hey, HEY! Cut it out!” & “Doggone stubborn little...” That was Clarence Nash.
When donald said, “ this is hot stuff!” , “wow!” And his little sinister chuckle at the end of the dueling pianos scene, that was all tony anselmo.
Most people can’t really tell the difference because of how great a job tony does, but there ya go.
When you get to goofy's I hope the clip yo use from kingdom hearts is one of the most overwrought, flowery anime lines about hearts and darkness they have him say. Hearing goofy say those is the best part about kingdom hearts.

Clarence was quite impressive as Donald. He made so much progress as Donald on his own. From his first role, I couldn't literally couldn't understand a word Donald was saying, but by the end, I could understand him just fine. But I think Tony really is the better Donald, making him both intelligible and unintelligible.

There are a couple of differences if you listen closely. Clarence Nash's Donald has a lower pitch, while Tony Anselmo's Donald becomes both more high-pitched and more intelligible as time passes. Daniel Ross's Donald is pitched about the same as Tony Anselmo's later Donald, but is not as articulate.

Gonna start giving my thoughts on the voices. Haven't done it since the Mickey one so gonna catch up starting with Donald.
Clarence Nash: The man who created the voice and made Donald who he is. He's the original classic and a great one too. Only nitpick I have is that he is kinda hard to understand at times (moreso in the 30s and 40s) but he did get a bit easier to understand as years went on.
Tony Anselmo: While he did start a bit rough around the edges in his early years (being more focused on the voice than acting), he definitely settled well into the role by the time Mickey Mouse Works came out and practically does an amazing job at being the successor to Nash plus he's easier to understand. There was actually a brief period where I tied both Nash and Anselmo. The reason why I don't now is that in more recent shows DuckTales 2017 and Legend of the Three Caballeros, Tony has really shown his mastery of Donald's voice and is able to apply that into the more serious material for those shows with really great performances with the voice he uses. I'd argue and say he's better than Nash (who only had the comedic cartoon shorts while Tony had those and the more serious moments) in that way.
Daniel Ross: He's a bit rough around the edges and a tad higher pitched than the other two but he's a decent stand in for Tony. Has potential to improve with practice.
