      Had 1st go today with new K4. Patio T5 cleaner is a game changer. Very impressed with it. Have to watch out that it doesn’t pick up bits of gravel, etc.
      Did you have 2 spare screws?? They go in the long dowels that fix the base in place.
      What are best mods, improvements for it. Hose?? Then what?

      @beverleynorth4914 Thanks for the info re. the screws, I did get there eventually (with help from others on here) 🙂
      The hose is the first thing I would upgrade. Then if you intend to wash cars, I would recommend a short trigger gun and a foam cannon. There are videos featuring all of these upgrades on my channel.
      This video is important czcams.com/video/F125OkLZwJo/video.html as is not storing your K4 anywhere where the water inside it could freeze as the expansion could crack the pump.

    Fantastic video, just what I needed, thank you. I do have a (very amateur) question with regards to the setup. I have recently had an outside tap fitted, however I haven't needed to use it yet, so I haven't bought any hoses/connectors/adapters. My question is, what do I actually need to buy in order to attach to the outside tap to the Karcher machine itself. I know that a hose will be needed, but with regards to the connectors I am a little clueless being as I have never needed one before. Any help (and possibly a website link to which product(s)) would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much.

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Thanks for the great feedback. To connect your pressure washer to your outside tap, you will need a tap connector to screw onto your outside tap, 2 hose connectors, a hose and I would recommend a hose reel. Assuming a 25m hose will be long enough for you, this kit contains everything you should need: amzn.to/4a1HUoB
      Also available at Screwfix if you don't use amazon: www.screwfix.com/p/hozelock-2-in-1-reel-with-hose-25m/63087

      Hi Roderick. As far as I'm aware there should be 8 small screws, 2 go into the top of the lance holder, 4 hold in the lance visor and 2 to secure the handle. Watch the video between approx 4:20 and 5:40 to see where they go. I'm sorry but I don't have any decking so can't really help you with your second question. I would think it would depend on the condition of the wood and would suggest starting on the lowest power and working up.

      I don't have my assembly instructions anymore but I can't see how any of the screws would affect the safety of your pressure washer. They are just used to attach the peripherals like the lance stand and handle. I would just give all of these a pull to make sure they are secure before using it. Good luck 🙂

    Несколько советов, чтобы Ваша мойка Karcher прослужила как можно дольше. 📌
    Постараюсь перечислить по пунктам (не в порядке важности, они все важны).
    1) Прочитайте инструкцию по эксплуатации и соблюдайте её (это для сильных духом):))
    2) Ставьте дополнительный фильтр, регулярно очищайте внутренний и если есть, внешний фильтр. Следите за чистотой воды, избегайте грязи и абразива.
    3) Соблюдайте режим работы. Давайте остыть аппарату минут 15-20, если непрерывно моете более 1,5 - 2 часов. Это если у Вас К5-К7, если К2-К3 то каждые полчаса.
    4) При мойке старайтесь реже отпускать-нажимать клавишу пистолета, сократив при этом количество срабатываний клапанов и микровыключателя на остановку.
    5) Не мойте горячей водой. Для минимоек серий K2-K5 максимальная температура воды 40C. Для K6-K7 60C.
    6) Храните мойку в тёплом месте. Если храните в холодном, сливайте всю воду, при возможности закачивайте антифриз.
    7) Не оставляйте аппарат под давлением на длительное время. Если делаете перерыв в мойке на 5 минут - стравливайте давление, нажмите клавишу пистолета. Обязательно после мойки не забывайте стравить давление!
    8) Не используйте интегрированные в корпус моек бачки для химии. Не поскупитесь на пенную насадку, и используйте её для нанесения шампуней. Если всё же наносите химию через Керхер, то обязательно после каждой мойки промывайте систему чистой водой. Химия (особенно агрессивный бесконтакт) не очень хорошо воздействует на внутренние элементы и детали насоса.
    9) Следите, чтобы мойке хватало воды. Модель серии K5 потребляет около 8 литров воды в минуту. В Вашей системе водоснабжения при работе всегда должно быть достаточно воды. Для подключения используйте шланг на 3/4 и длиной не менее 10 метров.
    10) Следите за напряжением в сети, оно не должно быть менее 220В. Если бывают перепады - используйте стабилизатор соответствующей мощности.
    11) Очень аккуратно эксплуатируйте Ваши аксессуары к Вашей мойке Karcher, они стоят очень приличных денег. Не бросайте, не наступайте, не наезжайте машиной на струйные трубки, пистолеты, шланги.
    12) С любовью и нежностью относитесь к купленной Вами дорогой технике, как советский дедушка к своему ВАЗ 2101 :)) и она ответит Вам взаимностью.

    Hi Big Ted, thanks for the video. I am thinking to buy this unit but am unsure about a point, please see if you could help. The intention is to clean house/building walls using K4, how good it is to clean walls, and how high the water could go? Would it cover a two-story building with sufficient pressure to clean the high-reaching areas such as the eaves? Many thanks

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  Před rokem +1

      The K4 is excellent for cleaning walls but you would not be able to clean a two story building with the supplied lances. The lance needs to be close to the wall to have enough pressure to clean it and using the lance from a ladder would be too dangerous. Karcher do make a telescopic lance which would appear to be ideal for your application. You can find he details here: amzn.to/3qycYb8

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  Před 2 lety

      Do you mean that you can't connect a hosepipe to the k4? If so, you will need a hose end connector on the end of the hosepipe. This will then push onto the water inlet towards the bottom left (as you look at it from the front) of the k4.

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  Před rokem

      The hose has a quick connect fitting which should click into place when you depress the yellow trigger and push the hose in far enough. Release the trigger and give the hose a good pull to test if it is located properly before turning on the water. It can take a few attempts to locate the hose fitting in the handle correctly but once it is secure it shouldn't leak.
