Amazing bowl and the resin work is incredible 🙂
Thankyou very much, I’m hope you enjoyed the video? 😊
@@tendring_woodturning I did, very much and learned tons from it. I wasn't quite sure what the purpose of the rice was for though just before mixing the resin.
Yes apologies for that. I put the rice in a measuring jug and multiplied it by 2.5 to know how much resin to pour. Hope that helps and apologies? 😊
Love it!
Thanks very much Scott, glad you enjoyed the video 😊😊😊👍👍👍
Hi really like. it...also the one with the nut shells in it....watching you from n.s.w. @@eileendavies5426 appreciate the comment, thanks very much. It’s a small world, not sure how you came to move from Dagenham to Australia but hope the knee heels quick and you get some time on that new lathe.

Nice work! Inspiring really. I have some blanks ready for epoxy and you have given me ideas to switch up a few to more like this. Newest subscriber by the way!

That's really nice! I'm working on a hybrid piece myself that I want to be a hollow gorm. So thanks for the inspiration!
Glad you enjoyed it and good luck with the hollow form. Thanks for watching. 😊😊😊👍👍👍
How did it go just out of interest? 😊
Its really creative work, well done. keep it up👍👍👍

this is a cool job! Thanks for the hard work!!!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it and appreciate the comment 😊😊😊👍👍👍
Wow 😲😲😲. That is incredible, I’m not sure if it’s a bowl or hollow form but it’s absolutely beautiful 😍😍😍.
Thanks very much, I appreciate it 😊😊😊🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
Your work and skills are impeccable, but I don't know if the extra polishing made the wood look plastic or the wood and the resin looks plastic. Please this is not a criticism of your work, your quality is there for all to see, i just feel a slightly more satin finish would look more classy. But that's just me and in any case you have fantastic skills and thanks for sharing your skills with us.
And that’s for watching. Point taken with the polishing, thanks for your opinion 😊. I’m a sucker for a gloss finish. 👍😊
Hi Great video,
Are you able to put a link up of the light you put on your tool rest its a great idea.
Thanks
Thanks very much and no worries, see the link below:

What do you cover the wood with when you use a brush?
Hi 👋 it’s sanding sealer to seal the grain so that the resin doesn’t bleed into it, especially when it’s put in a pressure pot. I’ll make that more obvious on the next video so thanks for the feedback and I hope that helps? 😊
@@tendring_woodturning Thanks a lot for the quick reply :)
I have never worked with epoxy, wood turning is a small hobby for me. It would be interesting to know the details and subtleties in the processing of such materials. I look forward to watching your next video :)
Thanks very much. Working with resin is relatively simple one you grasp the concept of the different resin types. In all cases it’s really important to seal the wood the best you can to stop the resin bleeding into it. Sanding sealer is a first start but wood glue works incredibly well too as long as it’s going to be turned back off again. Hope you enjoyed the video and thanks again for the comment and support 😊.
How long did it take to make in real time? I love the videos I find them relaxing 😊
Thanks very much 😊😊. How long to make it I’d guess at around 15 hours over 3 days as it uses quick cure (24hr) resin. Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment. 😊😊

Beautiful! What is that film you used for your mold?
Thanks very much. It’s called a cake collar, it’s simply thin plastic sheet and great for this. Hope that helps? 😊😊
What do they call the piece that you inserted into the chuck?
Hi 👋. I’m fairly certain you mean the threaded disk? In which case it’s called a screw chuck. Hope that helps? 😊😊😊
@@tendring_woodturning Thanks for that info and quick reply
@@poesypoet anytime and thanks for watching. 😊😊😊
We loved this, but something we can't figure out. What happened to the rice? It was the4, then it was gone. My brain hurts!
I’m so sorry, I hadn’t realised. Ok so the rice I tip into a measuring jug and multiply the volume by 2.5. I this case, the rice came to 200ml. Multiplying it by 2.5 gave me 500ml to mix and it was pretty spot on. Hope that helps and apologies? 😊😊😊
@@tendring_woodturning That is an awesome way of figuring out how much resin you need! That part always throws me off. I know you didn't give the answer for me, but I truly appreciate it all the same. Thx!!
I’m so sorry once more. I definitely filmed it, and i remember editing it but it never made it into the Final Cut 🙈. Thanks for watching Boomrider and I hope you enjoyed it. 😊😊😊
He used the rice to work out how much volume off resign he would need
Yes that’s right thanks Geoff, so sorry for not showing in more detail. It was definitely there in the editing bit I must have moved it down a couple of tracks so it was lost when compiling it. Just to reiterate, for small pours like this then put the rice in a jug and multiply the volume by 2.5. Thanks for watching and I hope my mistake doesn’t deter you from watching. 😊😊😊
Could do with a voice over
Thanks for the feedback Nicola. I appreciate the comment 😊😊😊
What didn’t you understand just out of interest?
I got lost on the rice bit. But i think everything else I kinda got. 😊
Yes apologies about the rice. Schoolboy error. The rice is put into a jug and the quantity measured. Multiply the quantity by 2.5 and that’s a good guideline for the amount of resin to mix. Hope that helps? 😊😊😊
