    I've got both of these and they really both have their place. HD Speed is great if you have to work in the Sun. I've used both of them with a variety of foam pads and have been using the Rupes wool pads for a few months now with great results for a one step. I've got to pick up some of these Uro-Fiber pads.

    Glad to see you do this one. I am a fan of D166 so I can't wait to see the result. My guess is that D166 will come on top... let's see if I am right ;)

    I’m used a lot of D166, and it has more cutting than 205. If you want to check fillers in AIO product just try Menzerna 3 in 1. They have more fillers than cutting... but it’s not a point in „detailing world”. I want to make the best job with 1 product. So i’m taking my d166 + MF disc or UroFiber. Great vid. Sub for you !

    I have never used a cleaner wax with a microfiber cutting disk. I was thinking it would leave some marring behind. I will have to switch to microfiber next year, very impressive results! So regarding the test, D166 is more expensive but it also contains a paint sealant that is supposed to last for about 6 months. HD Speed contains Montang (SP?) wax which is great for filling defects but has very limited durability. Since it's softer than carnauba wax, it will get removed faster and carnauba has about 1 to 2 months durability.... so... if you are doing this for a client, you could upsell D166 on that basis and if you are doing this on your own car, I would definitely go with D166 for the longer durability since the scratch removal is about the same.

      That looks like the Buff and Shine Uro Fiber pad. They have two different fiber types. One is for cutting, one is for finishing. You can think of it as the All In One pad :)

    Just a tip -Leave the polisher on the vehicle until it completely comes to a stop.Taking it off of the surface while it is still in motion is very hard on them. nice review

    Hi Jimbo love the channel.
    How do u clean your URO Fibre pads after using HD SPEED with it. Does it gunk up the pad where it can only be used with the AIO or after u clean it u can use it with other correction fluids.
    Warm Regards from South Africa

    What’s the difference between d166 and d151?

    • @STILLNIGHTPEARL
      @STILLNIGHTPEARL Před 5 lety

      MikeYFItalian 166 is better in all aspects, cut, protection, workability, 151 is still a great product for the money though, 1 gallon for around $40, tough to beat that. 151 has good cut, around 2 months protection in the real world, still a good 1 step.

    Meguiars D166 has much more cutting ability than HD Speed by far, really no comparison in my world!!

    Great video. Using HD speed on a sedan car ( Honda Accord) how much time would you spend on that car.

    • @eaautodetailing5303
      @eaautodetailing5303 Před 5 lety

      Not every car is the same, and also depends on condition, how far you want to take it, and what's your skill level

    • @Calendyr
      @Calendyr Před 5 lety +1

      Depending of your skill level, 2 to 3 hours for the actual polishing step is a good rule of thumb. For one step polish I calculate 5 hours for the detailed wash and polish of the entire car for small to medium sedans. The type of machine you use, the pad type and the number of pads you have (or the availability of a pad washer) will impact the time it takes. Also it depends on the process you settle on after doing the test spot. Since Honda usually have soft paint, you can expect the time it takes to be at the lower end of the range.

      It depends on the current condition and how much you care. My car had been fairly neglected for months so first thing was wash thoroughly and then clay bar it. Clay barring isn't that bad but if it's never been done and very neglected it can be. I'd say 30 minutes to wash, maybe hour and a half to clay bar and around 3 hours to polish and clean up

    Ordered HD speed on Amazon. They sent me 3D Speed. -_- and here I am with someone's car to clean lol sigh.

    So the pad did the cutting? I think if you repeated the experiment but used a black or red finishing pad you'd see less correction and more filling. Educated hunch...

    • @Calendyr
      @Calendyr Před 5 lety +1

      Interesting point. That makes a lot of sense. Usually these products are used with a medium or heavy polishing pad. So a lot less scratch removal and more filling. But the result with microfiber is just amazing. It probably depends on the paint, maybe on very soft paint it would finish horribly, but in this case it did an incredible job.

      Agreed with all comments here. Pad combination and paint type makes a big difference in how they cut and finish down.
