Hi y'all! I'm Rachel, an eighteen-year-old writer from Toronto. I've been writing for six years and am in my second year of my writing undergrad. O H MY GOD I WAS /HOOKED/!! Your writing voice is so entrancing it's like poetry but not so much that it distracts from the story. So like, poetic? So many quotes and character details that were just so beautiful. Like the catalogue for eyes that don't blink and the fact that she pretends her mink coat is fake...I get big 'Someone help Lonan' vibes from this. THAT ENDING!! I literally said "NO!" when it was the end because the story GOT me!! I'll definitely be reading anything you write from now on~

SYNOPSIS:
Lonan isn’t sleeping. He hasn’t slept since the phone calls started. Only on Fridays, only in the afternoons, only in a code he and the caller understand. Navigating the remnants of a destructive romance, he finds solace in supporting the caller who is in a similar situation. But as both Lonan and the caller find themselves more and more in a situation of prey versus predator, he chooses to leave what has been familiar to help not only himself, but the caller and the child she appears to be caring for.
Harrison isn’t happy. Settled into his new life in New York City with his mother Suzanna, things should be exciting, vivid, glamorous, but life in the city is duller than he projected. Unable to hold down a job or make friends beyond a litter of stray kittens, he concludes his restart will only ever be disappointing. As he cycles through the bland circuit of his new life, an inevitable truth is revealed-though Harrison doesn’t want to admit it, he knows what’s missing and must decide whether or not he’s willing to go and find him.
I LOVED THIS!!!! Your a phenomenal writer, your way with language is so interesting, unique, and profound. Your characters are complicated and messy, the plot is compelling,the tone is distinct and clear. I know you never plan on publishing this, but I would love to hear another chapter of your work.
