Gaurav gupta, you should also take notarization on undertaking that the child is living with parents. It is upto you to get it notarized as per old checklist or not get it notarized as per updated checklist

- VFS Global introduced photograph service very recently, but this is an optional service primarily for those who need help meeting the photo specifications. If you use this service, VFS will handle the printing of your photos, and you won't need to send physical photos.
- If you're sending 2 physical photos, you don't need to select a photo service. Simply include the two required photos with your application package, ensuring they meet all specifications
I tried getting a good thumb impression of my 4-month-old baby, but the fingerprint isn't coming through. Only the ink shows up on the paper. Is that fine? will embassy consider it?
For babies who are small that age, fingerprint appears smudgy. We had same. It should be fine. I would suggest try to take 4 fingerprints and send the best among that 4... it will be fine.

We got our citizenship by naturalization and do have our certificate. But for our minor kid we got the usa passport based on our citizenship as parents. Now for oci what do we need to select for the dropdown "Relationship with the root indian"
The correct selection under "Relationship with root Indian" would most likely be "Grandfather" or "Grandmother" (or both, if applicable).

Unfortunately, it is not possible to directly delete uploaded documents from the OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) government registration website after submission. However, there are a few options you can try:
1. You can use the "OCI Document Upload/Re-upload" feature to replace previously uploaded documents with new versions, as long as your application has not yet been acknowledged by the Indian Mission/FRRO.
2. Also, you can start a new application by clicking on "New OCI Registration" and uploading a fresh set of documents.
3. If none of these options work, you may need to contact the relevant Indian Mission or FRRO directly for assistance with modifying your application.

- You may need to provide a written explanation of the mistake, along with the notarized affidavit and supporting documents.

If vfs thinks any additional document is required,, then vfs would ask you to send the missing document through physical mail. That means, it would not only cause delays but also increase costs such as cost for mailing again

Here are some potential solutions:
- Try entering the address in all lowercase letters without using the auto-populate feature. Some of my friends have reported success with this method.
- Double-check that your shipping address matches exactly with the address stated on your application form. VFS requires these to be the same.
- Ensure you're using a residential address, not a UPS store or "hold at location" address.
- - Make sure the address you entered is correct and matches the format required by FedEx. Check for any typos or missing information.
- Use the standard format for addresses, including abbreviations like "St." for Street, "Ave." for Avenue, etc. Ensure the address is within the character limits set by the form.
- Enter the address on separate lines as required by the form. For example:
- Line 1: House number and street name
- Line 2: Apartment or suite number (if applicable)
- Line 3: City, State, ZIP Code
- Use the USPS address lookup tool to verify that your address is recognized. Sometimes slight changes can make it valid.
- If you're still unable to proceed, try using a different web browser or clearing your browser cache.
- As a last resort, you may need to contact VFS Global customer service for assistance. They have a phone line available Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 20:00 hours EST.
- If the issue persists, consider using your own pre-paid shipping label instead of the VFS-provided service. However, note that FedEx pre-paid labels are not accepted, and USPS labels should not have expiry date limitations.

What is OCI processing time for Minor?
If all documentation is perfect and no additional request of documents, it can take a minimum of 6 weeks. Hence the processing time ranges between 6-12 weeks
What is photo service that is charged at 7.99?
It is a new service added by vfs. It enables applicants to just upload soft copy to the vfs website and vfs will print and use the photos. Or you can choose to send your own photos as well

Affidavit in lieu of originals is a new document that vfs is askin now. It means - you are listing all documents for which you are submitting photo copies and not the originals. You need to list the names of documents for which you are submitting photo copies. And then sign and notarize it. Yes, you need to send affidavit in lieu of originals.

In usa passport, See page 2 has photo and information and page 3 has signature of the bearer. These 2 pages are mandatory (by logic) to be uploaded. Also from checklist, it says amendment pages or endorsement pages need to be uploaded which is the last two pages. Although these are blank in your case, it just shows that there were no amendments. To generalize, I said first three pages, last two pages of usa passport including the information and photo pages. Hope this clarifies

No, you don't need to buy an envelope exclusively from FedEx for your OCI application package to VFS. However, there are some important guidelines to follow:
1.VFS specifies that only FedEx Pak, FedEx envelope, or FedEx reusable envelope packaging can be used when shipping your application to the VFS Indian Consular Application Centre.
2.You can obtain these FedEx envelopes for free from FedEx locations or drop boxes.
3.do not use FedEx boxes or tubes, as additional charges will apply if any other type of packaging is used.
4.If you've purchased VFS FedEx shipping (which costs $30 for both sending and receiving), you can use the FedEx Envelope, FedEx Reusable envelope, FedEx Small Pak, or FedEx Large Pak for free.
Each application should be sent in a separate envelope. Do not enclose multiple applications in the same package.
5.If using VFS FedEx shipping, you don't need to include a return envelope. VFS will handle the return shipping

I guess you are talking about VFS issued mailing labels. In such case. Vfs will generate return labels. So no issue.
If you didnot opt for vfs issued mailing labels, then you would have to include return labels too
