Thanks for the pointers. Instead of cutting off the factory clip I used spade terminal ends and snipped off one of the arms. This allowed me to plug the two ends of the resistor into the factory terminal. A bit of electrical tape and some zip ties and we’re water tight and secure. 👍
It’s like I suggested this 9 months ago lol. I would suggest not cutting off the plug and just use two wire taps instead. Just cut back the plastic shielding to expose the wires so the taps fit. This way you still keep the plug and can reinstall the speaker for any inspections easily.
It's a good point but that connection will fail. Tap in connection never worked out for me. And AVAS speaker does not follow under any state inspection 😀
Any idea where the AVAS speaker is for reverse. I taped the front speaker with butyl sound deadner and that muffles it fine. The reverse is even loader and I'd like to find the location for that speaker.
There gotta be away to set the sound less rather than intrusive cutting the wire like that. It isnt programmable through the ODB2? I dont mind the sound, but i agree its kinda loud compared to other cars.
Hi, thank you for all your videos on CR-V Hybrid. Been following you for some time now. I bought the same car and I've been consistently grappling with a concern where all the engine lights on the dashboard stay illuminated. Despite making numerous visits to the authorized dealer, a solution remains elusive. I'm curious if you've experienced a similar issue with your 2023 CR-V Hybrid. Dealership can't really pin point where the problem is.
If you're talking about radar sensors that around the car, cruise control related systems? once in a blue moon when I start my car all this lights show up on my dashboard (like a Christmas lights) saying that systems does not work, Contact Dealer. After driving for a minute everything goes away so I never made a big deal about it. It's some kind of glitch where system does not have enough time to analyze and test segments prior of starting the vehicle.
Great DIY videos! Do you know if there is any way to disable the Active Sound Control for Honda CRV hybrid? Perhaps using some developer settings in the "secret" menu? On that note, could you may be make a video on that secret menu some time? 😁
Thank you 🙏, I had a feeling that if anyone would have thought about it would be you 😁 It's a bummer they don't have that option. Not sure if Honda gives system updates in general but specifically in the future to give that option to disable ACS or provide different sounds like in Tesla. @@IvanRossS
Now, in other silencing tasks. Any advice how to silence the high pitched sound / whistle that is present in the cabin around 30 mph and 70 mph most notable?
This your vent, I hate it.. it opens and closes. its located under rear passenger side seat. It's made for a cooling your battery and apparently it's takes air from the cabin to do it.
@@IvanRossS yeah I hear it most clearly in the driver side so the intake must be there. I tried putting the car in neutral and it is still there at these speeds, its weird it changes with in pitch when the car slows down. There's gotta be a fix for it. I have no idea, but I hate it too

Cutting the harness will void elec warranty if the Dealer sees it. The noise is way too loud. Best to try and muffle the speaker. Another problem is the brake groan when backing up in reverse. It happens when you apply the brakes ! And it is a groaning noise. So my 23 sport hybrid makes 2 awful noises Honda has no fix and it is apparently related to the regerstive system in the hybrid. Very dissatisfied with both noises !
This is actually a federal mandate for Hybrid cars in the US, for pedestrian safety. Disabling this seems risky, at best. I hope you never hit anyone in the future, they'll have your ass. Lol.
I own a 2024 Honda CR-V sport hybrid and one of the main reasons I bought it was its IIHS top safety plus rating. Why is that important to me other than the safety factor? It keeps the ongoing cost of insuring the vehicle down well below average. It got a "superior" rating in the pedestrian safety test. I suspect part of that rating is because of the pedestrian alert sound it makes. Is it a new sound I've never heard on a car before? Yes, but not particularly annoying.
Interesting. Have your neighbors complained? I live on a cul-de-sac also and the only two neighbors who have commented said it sounded "cool". I personally wouldn't go that far but maybe they're happy about the idea that I'll be less likely to be backing over their kids playing in the street.@@IvanRossS

Not the reliable connection there is a lot of water going in that area
I did the sound deadening material on mines and its good enough for me. Maybe I'll do this if/when the avas speaker has issues, and shows warnings.
I believe it’s for those with poor eyesight, not poor hearing.
Absolutely right lol. I was totally wrong..... for people that can't see good. So they can hear car is coming
Thanks for the awesome video! Would it be possible with the resistor to add a switch inside the cabin to turn the speaker off and on?
Great,
but what is about visits to the authorised services, you have to return it at every visit? Because they could complicate about warranty.
