I've been using the bag method for years and I'll never go back. I used to always inject the bird with chicken broth to try and keep it moist, so the first time I used the bag I did that and there was so much juice in the bottom of the bag, the bottom of the bird fell apart. No need to inject when using the bag. -- Tip for the stuffing, get some cheese cloth and line the inside of the bird with it and then stuff. When the bird is done you won't have to scoop out your stuffing. The cheese cloth forms a bag of stuffing that you can just pull out. It guarantees that you get all the stuffing out of the cavity.

I totally agree with the bag method achieving a tender turkey. Thank you for the cheese cloth idea! I am goin to do that. :)

No worries about overstuffing and undercooking the stuffing if you are using a bag. It will thoroughly cook! You can cook at 325-350 and it will come out tender and great. We’ve done this for thirty years!

You also have a pleasant and articulate speaking voice. So many are boring, tedious and poor quality speakers with lots of unnecessary chatter and dead space. Your video is a breath of fresh air....oh, and the turkey looks delish and perfectly done! Stuffing is another reason people wind up with dry birds.
In an attempt to get the stuffing up to proper temperature, it sacrifices the breast section to dryness. It also makes for a longer cook, because the stuffing acts like insulation against the sides and it ALSO cuts the airflow through the inside of the bird completely off.
I myself could NEVER get a large enough bird to provide all the stuffing I need to for my hungry crew, so, I just make it on the stove top.

Even if you don't use the pop up thermometer, don't yank it out until your bird has rested for 20 minutes.
If you remove it before the cook, well, you've got yourself a nice hole for the juices to pour out of.

    1. Triple-detection, more reliable.
    2. Much cheaper, low procurement costs.
    3. Customer logo/brand injection OEM service, better for customer brand promotion.

I followed the instructions on the box the bag comes with. Another huge tip to make sure the turkey cooks through is to make sure the turkey is thoroughly defrosted. I did make my slits 1 inch instead of the recommended 1/2 inch and I think that's why the top of the turkey came out dark. So be sure to make them small 1/2 inch slits. I just set the timer and when the recommended time was up I took the turkey out. The only other thing I looked for is when the leg meat pulls away from the bone. Other than that I open the bag and check the internal temp. If you follow the guide on the box it will give you what the internal temperature should be. I made another turkey in a bag on Thursday and followed the cook time and it cooked through. Best of luck! :)

Instead of letting your turkey reach 165 DF internal in the OVEN, pull it out at 155 and let it finish cooking on the countertop to 165. Lightly tent, if you wish, but you should wind up with a nice bird!

I too was apprehensive of stuffing my turkey and as long as your internal temp is 165 degrees Fahrenheit you are good to go. I cut the slits bigger than recommended and it created a hot spot there at the top. Miraculously the turkey was still moist.

Never put stuffing in a raw turkey

DO NOT WASH THE TURKEY. Other than that, the recipe looked easy.

Thank you, FWIW I use a thin knife to 'stab' into the (turkey) breast and then cut a pocket into the centre of the breast (without making the entry stab larger) and fill it with herb butter. Pocket would be about 2/3 the length of the breast, herbs or seasoning with the butter is to taste, but I'm sure you've probably already tried that. Love your channel.

Good luck and I made a mistake by cutting the slits in the bag too large. Be sure the slits are small 1/2 inch cuts. I think that's why I had a dark spot on the top of my turkey. It still came out great though! Happy Holidays!
