I'd question the feasability with the Riker manouver in that chair, further more, he's the captain now. It is only appropriate to go with the Picard manouver instead.
I will say this for lower decks, it does basically allow for every single alive Star Trek Actor to guest star. TNG cast can still be in Starfleet like Riker. TOS cast and ENT cast could be on a holodeck program. The possibilities are endless.

Well if you ever do you might want to skip season 1&2 its really boring... with a few great episodes sprinkled in. Season 3 and 4 are excellent. If you search on CZcams some top 10 lists for enterprise you will get the few for the first 2 seasons that you may want to see. I liked enterprise more than Voyager and season 1&2 of TNG.

I just got done binge watching the series. Very likable characters. Bakula comes off a bit wooden at times, but other than that it's a great show. Just skip the opening theme...to me the worst part about the show. Sounds like an 80s sitcom theme.

When the opening credits came on, I just muted the sound until the credits ended. The series itself starts out slowly in its first two seasons, and it gets more interesting in seasons 3&4, but that series finale ending though... ugh.
Lower Decks really grew on me. I think it's unfairly lumped in with Discovery and Picard but even though Lower Decks is an animated comedy, it's leagues better.
Lower Decks is like the new stepdad that gives you presents every week and takes you to amusement parks to make you accept him, but you still hate him cuz you still love your dad.
No I believe that all the other series have discovered new stuff and anomalies and races but like the Cerritos this series consolidates all of them into a shared universe
Frakes and Sertis seem to have mastered the meme of them just being Frakes and Sertis in Nu-Trek. We wont ever see "Riker" Or "Troy" again. Not saying its a bad thing good for them working smarter not harder :)
yup totally true, I also thinks it helps that it's not piggybacking on known characters. (ahum: Picard) It's also not trying to be set at the same time of TOS with a completely different visual style. (like Discovery) SPeaking of which it also finally LOOKS like Star Trek. this episode actually messed up with continuity. Riker didn't play the first enterprise mission on the titan, he did it on the Enterprise D. It was during the episode The Pegasus

It’s canon, but it’s also an episode before they fully figured-out the rules they would hold everything to afterwards, so I ignore that aspect of the episode. And where did I say that Discovery was ruining Star Trek? Star Trek was being ruined long before Discovery. I only mentioned Discovery because that’s the worst this franchise has been. DS9, Voyager and Enterprise may not have been Roddenberry’s direct creations, but they at least followed the basic vision that Roddenberry had, although Enterprise was the start of them abandoning that vision. Man, that opening song was horrible, and broke the Star Trek tradition. For me personally, they officially ruined Star Trek when they rebooted the movie franchise and made it all about explosions. From these clips of Riker I'm starting to think that LD is pretty fun (not exactly the best of Star Trek but still looks decent). I won't be watching it but I'm glad that people are enjoying it.
I was sceptical too but came to realise that the writers are actually enjoying themselves with the references and jokes about the lore as far back as the TOS days (and literally "TOS"). If they made it a serious addition like Disney did with Star Wars, it'd have been an instant turn off.
The show's greatest quality is that that it never takes itself too seriously. And it's obviously full of fan service, mocking everything about Trek the real Trekkies dislike.
A Guy Called Pi I think what’s also a telling sign of its quality is that when it did get serious, it fit practically like a glove alongside the rest of them. Season 1’s finale gave legit stakes & tension, character moments, and made you feel for the loss of a particular character. I think when even a primary comedic work can show its serious when the chips are down, it has succeeded in various ways. And also provides balance and levity for the Trek verse that was not apparent in Discovery and all but nonexistent in Picard.

So Picard bought it and carried it around with him (Not knowing it meant displaying it meant you were seeking jamaharon). You mean a series that follows _USS Titan_ ? Probably because too many authors already touched that nest egg. So the same reason LucasFilm gave us the sequel trilogy instead of the Thrawn Trilogy. You know, the one Timothy Zahn wrote to have the big screen feel. I would watch a series that follows _Titan_ and Geordi's _USS Challenger_ in a post-Hobus galaxy. I'd have loved it even more if they could have had Data captaining _Enterprise-E_ , even for a little bit, just as he did in the _Countdown_ comics, and is recorded as having done in _STO_ 's 'Path to 2409' set of historical datachips.
The actors are probably too expensive. For Lower Decks they could pick whoever they wanted, but if you bring in known actors as regulars, they can state their price.
LD was great, I don't get the hate it gets. I enjoyed almost all of what was given to us. Unlike Discovery, which brought me to sleep in most episodes.
I don't hate LD per say. I gave it 3 episodes but I did not want to watch a Star Trek show that is just 85% Member Berries. I wanted show with real problems and stakes. What I got was them yelling TNG names and places when they ran out of idea's.
+Explorin'Jenkins I overall liked it. The last episode was a bit reference-heavy at certain points, but I enjoyed the show mostly for its original content. That said, my favorite episode is the second-last one, both for somewhat redeeming the character of Mariner (who was hands down the worst part of the show), and yes the subtler references to the movies (like the 3 minute long beauty sequence of The Cerritos). I feared the message of the show was "don't try, just coast through on natural talent and don't follow those dammed regs", but thankfully the show corrected that in the later episodes showing that Mariner did actually try, and was intentionally trying to avoid the responsibility of being promoted. I also enjoyed the show bringing back some seemingly forgotten pieces of cannon, such as the Exocomps being apparently completely forgotten. +Incombustible The shows opening is fairly weak. It has some good points, but it is mostly lackluster. It improves around the halfway point. +Ludwig Schwarzwälder That is grammatically incorrect.

I would say it at least appears very least some writers are Star Trek fans. Rare for modern Star Trek.

LD was great, I don't get the hate it gets. I enjoyed almost all of what was given to us. Unlike Discovery, which brought me to sleep in most episodes.
I don't hate LD per say. I gave it 3 episodes but I did not want to watch a Star Trek show that is just 85% Member Berries. I wanted show with real problems and stakes. What I got was them yelling TNG names and places when they ran out of idea's.

I overall liked it. The last episode was a bit reference-heavy at certain points, but I enjoyed the show mostly for its original content. That said, my favorite episode is the second-last one, both for somewhat redeeming the character of Mariner (who was hands down the worst part of the show), and yes the subtler references to the movies (like the 3 minute long beauty sequence of The Cerritos). I feared the message of the show was "don't try, just coast through on natural talent and don't follow those dammed regs", but thankfully the show corrected that in the later episodes showing that Mariner did actually try, and was intentionally trying to avoid the responsibility of being promoted.
I also enjoyed the show bringing back some seemingly forgotten pieces of cannon, such as the Exocomps being apparently completely forgotten.

The shows opening is fairly weak. It has some good points, but it is mostly lackluster. It improves around the halfway point.

@@Saddler1944 it has a lot of member berries but the story never relies on them. My wife watches with me and she doesn't get 90% of the references but she still enjoys the show.
