can you share what fuel tank and floor mounting bracket you purchased?
Fuel tank-
5.5L / 1.45 Gallon Plastic Fuel... www.amazon.com/dp/B09QPLSPJH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Mounting bracket-
Eberspacher Espar or Webasto... www.amazon.com/dp/B0068M8HMW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I would seal the mounting plate with fireproof rtv just in case it leaks. don't want fumes in your truck
Great video Grant! You will love being warm this winter!! Can’t wait to see your winter truck camping videos
I’m gonna be so comfortable now! Can’t wait for future winter adventures’
Sweet! I also ditched the buddy heater and got one. This video will definitely help with my install 👍🏽
Awesome! Glad it can help!
Great job!
Thank you!!
Great video my sir. I was a bit intimidated about purchasing and installing one of these until this video. Thanks for the help. (Be better humans people!)
Thank you! I felt the same way, but turns out it was very easy! Best of luck!!
Nice video!
Thank you!!
Heat shrink connectors need to be crimped or the could cause a fire
Nice work man! You're going to love the diesel heater! Only thing I can think of is to make sure you vent that exhaust all the way out from the bottom of the bed. Don't want any fumes coming up into the bed.
Okay what would you use to make sure fumes don’t leak into truck bed?
@@FireflyFishing just make sure the exhaust pipe is long enough to stick out from under the truck like the engine exhaust. Needs to be outside of the body of the truck. If that is to long to store under the truck when not in use then you can just attach a extension to it when you are getting set up to camp. Most of those little heaters recommend that you don't have an exhaust pipe longer than 3 meters to work properly. Thats plenty of length to make sure it is properly vented.
Appreciate the detailed video, sir! You keep saying 90 degrees but I think you mean 45 degree angle.
You’re correct! Didn’t notice until I rewatched the footage 😂
Now only to invest your setup with Solar panels and power inverters 💪I think it will work fine! Oh and BTW, I would definitely vent that exhaust pipe from under the bed of the truck. Get enough of them fumes it'll be game over
Big love Grant! I'm liking your setup so far, you're doing awesome 🤜🤛 -ECHO
Thanks so much for the tips and support!
Super excited for this setup 🙌🏼
@@FireflyFishing it will definitely prevail brother! You are doing great my friend and I'm super excited to watch your journey. You've come a long way Grant, keep going
#Let's_Go! Big love ❣️
It is great that you figured out how to install the diesel heater. Anyhow, in my opinion, I think the idea of installing the diesel fuel tank located underneath of your bed is not a good idea because refueling would be difficult, and any diesel spills underneath your bed would leave a strange smell and probably not safe to do so. One of the reason why I have not installed a diesel heater or used a gas generator because just by carrying a fuel tank in the camper will produce smelly fumes that could linger inside the camper for long time.
Good too know! Thanks for the tip, I’ll try to find away to put the fuel tank in a sealed box or something
Be safe man, those things look intense!
Will try😂
A Little dish soap will help slipping that tubing in. Washes off easily after the fact
When u ran that fuel line back inside through the small hole u didn't have anything protecting the hose from the metal edges, it will cut the plastic hose with rattling when u drive, also i didn't see u crimp the electrical connector ends, idk if it was cut off the video n not shown, n lastly definitely best if u have the diesel tank outside just to be safe
Amazing feedback! Actually just removed that diesel heater and have something big plans this week!
Nice!! How are you charging the battery for the heater? You can get an isolator so you can charge it from the car battery alternator without risking running down your engine starter battery
I’m planning on attaching a killswitch to the battery so I don’t use lots of its power. Then not sure on how I plan on charging it once it dies!
But I will do some research to see if I can figure this out! Thanks Ray!! Hope you’re doing amazing
@@FireflyFishing manually works too. Take a look into "12V battery isolators" they allows you to keep it hooked up to the starter battery, but it never drains your starter battery, and then when you turn the car on, the alternator will charge both your heater battery as well as the starter battery.
This video is about a year old. Ho a it holding up?
Is your friend okay?
"Kay?"
I would have installed it to the top of the truck cap, and vented out through the top..no holes in the truck
That would’ve been another great way to install.
The exhaust has to point down or it will build up water that is generated from the combustion and block the line.
You need a CO2 detector brother 👍
You heat shrank the connector but you didn’t crimp it….might wanna do that
Thank you! I’ll make sure to do so
Any smell of diesel fuel?
Not that I have noticed! Do you have recommendation for something to seal this even better?
@@FireflyFishing Not sure about that.. I just do not like the smell of Diesel exhaust and wonder if it smells. Its looks to be a great setup and I hope it serves you well my friend.
That's a big hole
.... that's what he sa...
Dudes cuts a hole in a nice truck bed for a $120 Chinese heater.
I’m thinking about this also…. I have one I’m debating on using one. But at the end of the day you can repair the hole….
