MLA I started reading about LRH with the stolen valor crowd & he fascinated me. I guess the con man\swindler angle was his most impressive (for lack of a better word) achievement. I try very hard not to post mean things or troll. If you read "Bald Faced Messiah" and the supporting docs\books listed in the bibliography you will get a pretty good picture of the supporting players. Especially in the early days which are fascinating. As a young lady she sure came across as a gold-digging home wrecker of a tart. THAT is how, IMHO, she overcame his terrible looks, near psychotic behaviour, and pathological lying. Again, I have never met any of the players, hate to be so negative, and ask folks to do their homework before agreeing with me. All the "his mind attracted me" BS probably makes her feel better which is fine. Notice the use of big words to sound intelligent. It is like asking someone to pass you the sodium chloride. I'm probably just being mean but it sure seems contrived. In the end, his actual life was far more exciting and interesting then the fictitious war hero, globe trotting adventurer persona he cooked up. I mean to turn a trip to his dad's duty station in Guam into living and searching the far east for enlightenment takes talent. I loved the part about living with Mongol (or is it Tibetan?) bandits . That shows a creativity far too lacking with your average crook.

In Scientology history, they like to buy up and set up museum like space or a plaque or something on the property that their L. Ron Hubbard lived at.
This great full interview tells of how Hubbard and his second wife, and Hubbard's mistress, the lady interviewed, for a brief moment were all at Chateau Marmont.
If Hubbard ever gets traction in history, it shouldn't be forgotten then, it should be part of the unofficial history that Hubbard lived ever so briefly at Chateau Marmont.
Part of the spoof history of Hubbard, he deserves a plaque for the funny moment Barbara Klowden speaks of, when Hubbard's second wife and baby showed up at the Chateau Marmont with baby Alexis (Hubbard's daughter by Sara Northrup Hubbard).
That's kind of the fuller real history of Scientology and Hubbard that their members don't get!
Thanks so much for putting this full interview up.

+Chuck Beatty Are you related to Warren? I once spotted Hubbard near La Brea and Sunset. He was riding in a Rolls Royce convertible with the top down and his flaming red hair blowing in the wind. My then wife and I were going to visit our children near the Celebrity Center when we were both in the Sea Org. We ate beans and rice and Hubbard drove around in a Rolls Royce, like the Bhagwon Shree Rashneesh! Scientology was taken over by the CIA and NSA after they settled thousands of lawsuits against the IRS. It was part of the deal not one must find out about. I have Super Power! Hubbard gave it to me before he died.

I think she is intelligent and assuredly articulate. Sometimes language skills and apparent knowledge are not as they say, related to common sense. Ron was creepy, no doubt. She knew it but somehow that interested her and drew her to him. I find it amazing that so many are longing for a utopia or secret to the garden of eden. In fact their intelligence and education go out the window. The common sense factor is thrown out the window. I am glad that she realizes he was a little on the grandiose and theatrical side. Ron wanted control and as she said, he wanted to have control over others on a grand scale. It seems he achieved it. So many people are just sheep to the slaughter because of no faith in themselves or comfort in their own identity. I have always been fascinated in how a person can deceive and fool so many others. I guess more amused than fascinated Weirdos is the simple term and in many cases, fitting. Great information. A classy lady although she loses points for association.

This lady seems as bizarre (I'm not a shrink) as LRH! She gets him to buy6 her an engagement ring with his last cash, then leaves him? So nice. I hate the man, but sometimes you see people who contribute to other people's awfulness.
If the guy was trying to screw around on his wife and daughter with you, but you see he is so ill, why do you participate and get him to spend money that could support the child or pay for medical help on jewelry? I don't get it. If she were so inclined toward psychology that she wanted to spend 6 or more years studying it, couldn't she have asked a professional for some guidance (since LRH was not willing to get help himself?)
I hear so much in her words that seems written by her in advance, excuses made up to sound erudite and sophisticated, and in the way of little direct answers.

Jean-Luc, I know this from a lady in Copenhagen who was working very close to Ron.
Dave Roberts, for Brain Washing to work one has to have some unconsciousness.
Scientology as intended by LRH does the opposite it aims at more and more consciousness. But I agree with you that being in a current Scn group which sometimes is not run according to LRH Policy might cause some unawareness especially about the world outside, in this state, the constant pounding about certain subjects and the lack of personal time when one can reflect over things might bring about a state that can be considered Brain Washing to a certain degree. In any case Brain Washing on good things is not as bad as Brain Washing on bad things like the terrorists for example. About OT3 yes it might sound quite unreal but for me is still more believable than the story of Heaven-Hell that is implanted by our "great religions". You can also do your research Man does not exist since one million years, check out on CZcams "Forbidden Archeology", and others if you follow this trail and think by yourself.

First of all L. Ron Hubbard is not responsible for the mistakes the Church of Scientology is doing, in actual fact each of these mistakes stem from a non application of LRH tech. Second it seems to me that many of you are trying desperately to invalidate LRH and his technology, this might be because you are not able to avail yourself of the gains that can come as a result of the full understanding and full application of his technology.
The result will be that you get the illusion that LRH tech is useless, at that point you will stay in your subhuman level while many will reach a very desirable state, remember ... the truth it is not determined by how many agree on whether or not it is it. Fourth Mrs Barbara Klowden with all my respect did not understand that LRH behavior was on purpose in order to stimulate her to come to a rational behavior, that seemed to be in vane; the fact that she become a psychologist shows that she has a problem to assimilate the truth. This is very valid also for LRH second wife... LRH seemed to have a big frustration on trying to reform her to rationality. Up to you on whether you want the truth or the illusion that LRH and his technology was not good, and remember also that failing to discover the truth will also bring about more stupidity ...
