Sonic Mania Plus is an expanded version of Sonic Mania. This re-release has new characters Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel as well as a new Encore Mode and 4-player Competition Mode.
In the conclusion of the War to Take Back the Planet, Sonic is transported back to Angel Island by the Phantom Ruby. He traverses the land and finds Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel trapped within a capsule. After freeing them, the Heavy Magician reveals herself to have been disguised as one of the prisoners (the one that the player did not select to team up with). She steals the Phantom Ruby, leaving Sonic and his new teammate to chase her down. The Heavy Magician gives the Phantom Ruby to the wrecked remains of the Phantom King, among the other Phantom Heavies. The Phantom King then uses the Ruby to restore the Hard Boiled Heavies, leaving Sonic and his teammate to begin hunting them down in Green Hill Zone. - Hry
these new special stages are a bit difficult, I failed twice in the last one, I would normally restart the Video but I took the opportunity to show 2 giant rings in the Studiopolis Act 1, I cut my fails because there is no reason to show the same map 3 times
I was a little lost in the Mirage Saloon, I do not know why
and the video had some little freezes and sound desync because of dxtory, nothing serious, sorry about that

Not exactly...some of the special stages (particularly that last one) carry the risk of falling off, ending your chance on that stage immediately.

You're mostly right, except Stardust Speedway Act 2 is always the good future, and Metallic Madness Act 2 is always the bad future, in Sonic Mania.

The game has this weird glitch where if you move the camera in the UFO stage left and right all over again and jump, it will cause the character to move at the maximum speed and you can catch the UFO in no time with out any machs. Idk if it was patched but you can try out yourself

I got all the chaos emeralds in Mania mode and Encore mode and finished getting them in Studiopolis, too. I restarted the whole game at least 8 times trying to get them in the shortest levels of the game possible, so I can experience more levels of being super! #SonicManiaPlusRocks

Relatable. I've been failing the special stages for like more than 20 tries now. Little by little, I got to know these and swiftly got the emeralds. I hate the last special stage. Keep getting Course Out.

Why do Studiopolis and Mirage Saloon Act 2 sound eerily similar?
The both have syncopation (the bridge part of studiopolis) and similar chords~ old swing jazz is what Studiopolis is modeled after
Mirage Saloons piano parts and the horn is pure syncopation too, that's what gives it that swing feel
At 1:33:34 I swear I can hear poor Tails yell ‘Sonic!’ as Sonic’s bones crunch 🍖 🦴...

you missed a special stage in green hill zone, it's on the left side of the bridge in the underground section.
I really wanted ray and might could still be in the plus version but you could also buy team chaotix add on to the game and play as espio charmy and vector
