1:35 Yes, made in Finland since the late 1970s (but originally Swedish, since the 1920s).

Salmiak is not the same as licorice. Salmiak, unlike licorice, is an artificial salt, Ammonium Chloride NH4Cl which is basically white in color and quite easily soluble. Salmiak is often used in the licorice for a more salty taste in a cheaper way

I think it's more popular among women than men, but I'm not sure. I don't like it very much but I don't dislike it either. I would never buy it, but I would eat it if someone gave it to me… I prefer sour sweets that doesn't stick to my teeth.

Liquorice (why doesn't everyone else in the comments spell it “licorice”?) tastes fantastically, but it kills your testosterone.

If you have any left then try it again! ^^
My personal recommendation for eating Djungelvrål is to let it rest in the mouth, just move it around a bit to prevent the saliva from building too much and once the saltiness wears off you START to chew. It is one of those candies that is meant to be eaten slowly.
As for foods... I don't know. Do you eat red meat? If so then most definitely "falukorv" (which is a sausage), baked in the oven with mashed potatoes is probably the most popular and easiest to get used to I suppose. I, however, prefer a somewhat rougher approach. I like to boil mine... Does Ingrid know about this approach, perhaps? I'm not entirely sure it is a nationwide thing anymore. I'm raised to believe that it is but I often see confusion whenever I mention it boiled.. so I have my doubts in recent years.
