  • In this video we continue to look into why the Mini Cooper D F55 is still having performance issues. We focus on the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), assuming that is it blocked from almost doing 100k miles.
    We try out the Mannol DPF Foam Cleaner on the Mini Cooper D F55, is it any good? did it work? can the Mannol DPF Foam Cleaner clear out the DPF, resolve the restricted performance issue and get the Mini Cooper D back on the road again.
    We also try to do a DiY DPF force regen on the Mini Cooper D to help the process along, will it work?
    The Mannol DPF Foam Cleaner can be used on many cars including the Mini F56 and F57.

    If it's like the other Mannol DPF Regen 2 bottle stuff, you have to get the car warm, turn it off, and let your DPF cool down to below 40deg... then spray it in.... with the engine off. Sit for an hour, then take it on a good drive on the motorway.

    Just watched your vid. On my bmw 635d I had a faulty thermostat which stops the engine getting to a good running temp. Around 88-95 degrees. It was only reaching 75 degrees.
    Temp of engine has to be around 85 to allow the car to regenerate the dpf.
    Check on your tester if it shows live data, read out the engine and collar temps and go for a drive whilst reading temps. If you only see 75 degrees max temps buy a new thermostat from bmw not cheap eBay part ;-)

    According to the Mannol website it says to run the engine while injecting the foam, then turn it off once the can is emptied, and replace the sensor, then drive the car to initiate the regeneration process !

    Bro. Even if the dpf is 300% blocked, if your vapour valve, wich iss know as 5th injector, is still running, the dpf will initiate regeneration. If your dpf dont want to start regeneration, check the vapour valve which spray fuel into dpf.

    Your meant to put in cold,leave it to soak then drive car,Will be crap loads of smoke etc whilst it burns off the soot and ash,put it in hot it will evaporate before it gets chance to work,it works well on mercedes diesels

    Hello, are these sprays suitable for engines with DPF placed after the turbo, in the front of the engine? Isn't there a possibility for some of the spray to get in the turbo and from there in the engine?

    (!) STOP HERE - READ FIRST (!)
    For VAG owners, at 2:10 - an small note, pointing to the fact this to be made by service due to diagnistic stuff (not nowadays anymore but..) mean anyone has studied in his life what happens with plastic pipe when touching an extremely hot metal... this clear all questions, so:
    0. if possible perform normal DPF regeneration on the highway
    1. then engine cooled down fully
    2. locate right hole at DPF intake (pressure valve e.g.)
    3. apply fully bottle foam to the intake of the DPF, periodically moving bit front back spray stop spray stop for better dispersion (locate right hole position, pressure valve etc..)
    4. make sure removed sensor is back attached and no tools left under bonnet
    5. start engine while standing for 10 mins allow to warm up system oil +80°C
    6. with diagnostic tool start DPF regeneration with option WHILE STANDING, the engine will controll RPM etc till 0% ash shown
    7. keep engine running in idle RPM for next 6-8min to allow DPF cool down
    8. manually code system for new DPF (case your car not teaching himself)
    9. adapt pressure valves
