Thanks for the unboxing. I've been thinking about getting a setup for Stepmania. Right now, I've got a couple of DDR games for Xbox with a soft pad. The soft pad has corner buttons for A, B, X, and Y, plus two extra buttons for back and start (kinda like your Wii pad). I noticed the L-TEK pad only has the four arrows; is that enough to control everything in Stepmania without walking to your keyboard? And can you pause or cancel in the middle of a song?
the mat alone as shown in the video doesn't have extra buttons on the pad. after I bought it L-Tek introduced optional start/select buttons which I've never tried but I imagine are useful. anyway the actual DDR machines have buttons on the cabinet part so I don't mind using my laptop to control and select
I find that if you find a way to get the bar up against something and put one of those exercise grips on it, it's totally workable and fine. I use it this way and it holds up to serious play pretty well.
I got used to playing no-bar because that's what the Wii DDR game had

DDR use barefeet or shoes to make sure you don't slide or fall of. Speciely on heavy songs like MAX 300

I have a laptop connected to a TV display running Stepmania game. The Konami song packs are from zenius vanisher (forum site).

idk mine but online said 18 kg or 40 lbs. Not super heavy but not that portable.

I don't know what softpad you have. You can ask on r/dancedancerevolution or zenius forums

You should adjust your latency settings if the beat is off on your game
I put in the description where you can get official DDR charts on ziv site. Also songs may be timed wrong but I would calibrate with the mat because they may be designed for keyboard.

I know that I found a CZcamsr called KK clue he also does ddr videos Only not a lot only two videos or about dance dance revolution he also has a pad like this and on his end the joints for his handle doesn’t really hold together well to keep it tight they are very very poor

no, the sensitivity is fine for my beginner level
Why is adding handle bars +$200?
I couldn't tell you, but their bar doesn't look sturdy or comfortable anyway. I never use the bar tho so ymmv

Like 100 euros which I considered part of the cost. The total was about 300 euros including tax and stuff.

I built from source following the readme.
I built it from source. If you have issues you should open a GitHub issue for support.

I've read only negative things about the LTEK handle. It's a shame
