3 ASE A7 Topics That Seem Difficult At First

- While training for the A7 I found 3 topics that were difficult at first. Knowing how much refrigerant is in the AC system, leak testing the AC system, and passing the 609 certification test. The A7 (Automotive Heating & Air Conditioning) is one of the "easier" tests required for the master mechanic title.
Update Oct 15, 2023: I passed the test! There's some very important information I talk about in the first topic, mainly knowing the answers to the questions about the metering devices.
There was 2 questions about leak detecting on the test.
Nothing related to the 609 testing material was on the test. No need to memorize SAE standards or worry about "other" refrigerants. No questions about R12 or R1234yf, the main focus is still R134a.
What were the answers to the metering device questions in the video please ?
@@abraham2822 If the FOT is clogged, low-side pressure will be lower than normal, possibly even at a vacuum. If the TXV is stuck open, there is no "metering" going on, so the pressure will be higher than normal on the low-side, basically there will be no separation between low and high side.

I passed the ase tests without studying. They don't test your knowledge of working on a vehicle, they test your ability to take a test. Read the questions carefully would be the best advice.
